This is a Beautiful and rather rare 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo AWD with an automatic transmission. I bought this from the original owner who was a retired gentleman in Texas. This was his wifes car. I have owned this car for about 4 or 5 months. Prior to me owning it the original owner spent some money on the car. He put in a brand new turbo ($2700.00) Four brand new tires, All new Brakes and its 95K mile service. Then thinking I was going to keep it forever I went and did a complete engine reseal which is $3000 at Subaru, a new timing belt and timing belt tensioner and a brand new Tranny mount that was dried out and brittle and then I had the turbo wrapped!...........So this car needs absolutely nothing, Purrs like a kitten, mileage is 99870 as of today but I am driving it daily, so it will go up a little! Reason for selling? Ill keep it short. I bought the car from Texas had it shipped to my home in Arizona, Then I went to New Hampshire to buy a second home and trailered the Baja here behind a U haul (A trailer not a dolly) . My intention was to leave it in NH for a winter car but since then some plans have changed where Ill be driving back and forth from AZ to NH so I don't need to leave a car here, Ill just get a Subaru wagon and drive it back and forth. I just cant see putting all the wear and tear on a Baja Turbo. This SBT has never seen snow and has absolutely NO rust, Never smoked in and never in an accident. I have the clear title in hand. Mechanically this Baja needs nothing! The body has no door dings that I could find but has a small wrinkle on the drivers side rear bumper where the original owner told me someone backed into him in a parking lot and your typical small road chips....all very minor and I will try and show it in a photo and one very light scratch a couple inches long that I think can be buffed or a lightly wet sanded out, again very minor. Ive used my thumb and a key in the photos for a size comparison.
The interior has the turbo floor mats and is perfect except for a small hole poke on the passenger side and a small cut on the drivers side...Again I will try and show these imperfections in the photos. When I purchased it, it had a hard tonneau cover that the locks were removed from but I took it off as I have no use for it and it just adds weight to the car, I will reinstall it if the buyer would like!....And there you go...... No disappointments! Buyer sets up and pays for shipping. Oh, in case your wondering, it never came with the bed extender!
Thanks for looking

2014 Subaru Forester gets big nod of approval from Consumer Reports
Wed, 22 May 2013While more and more buyers seem to be opting for the functionality of car-based crossover vehicles every day, it's rare that your read much in the way of passionate praise for one. And, while Consumer Reports doesn't exactly lavish written paeans on the Subaru Forester in its latest review - that's just not its style - it did give the CUV a remarkably high overall score.
Praising its excellent fuel economy, visibility, roomy interior and a whole lot more, the testing publication bestowed an overall score of 88 out of 100 on the Forester. That's a really excellent number for just about any vehicle, but it's also a top-of-the-class mark for the Forester's small CUV division. Just about the only major gripe was that of ride quality.
Most of the direct competitors to the Forester have earned CR marks in the mid-70s. The Honda CR-V is some 11 points behind, for instance, while the Toyota RAV4 and the Mazda CX-5 earn scores of 75 and 74, respectively.
Recharge Wrap-up: Mazda, Subaru and Toyota PHEV, Nomadic Power grant
Sat, Jun 20 2015The next generation of the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid looks to be important for Mazda and Subaru as well. Toyota will likely need to sell more of the new plug-in hybrid to meet stricter ZEV standards in California. That means it will get more extra electric range, as customers have been asking for. Subaru and Mazda will also have to adhere to the California standards beginning in 2018. Those two smaller automakers will likely license a plug-in hybrid powertrain from Toyota in order to fulfill compliance. Read more at Green Car Reports. Tesla is partnering with Dalhousie University to improve battery technology. Tesla signed a five-year research agreement with Dalhousie's Jeff Dahn, a lithium-ion battery researcher. Dahn and the 25 researchers in his lab will work with Tesla's Director of Battery Technology, Kurt Kelty, to increase capacity through improved materials. The collaboration could be important both for Tesla's automotive and stationary batteries. "Our research group's goal is to increase the energy density and lifetime of Li-ion batteries, so we can drive down costs in automotive and grid energy storage applications," says Dahn. Nomadic Power's mobile batteries, called Nomads, have incorporated photovoltaic systems and can be used to extend the electric driving range of a plug-in vehicle, or to provide backup power to a home. The Nomads use an intelligent energy management system to learn and predict user behavior and manage the solar system based on weather forecasts. "We see a strong future in electric-powered mobility and an increasing use of renewable energy, photovoltaic power in particular," says Nomadic Power CEO Dr. Manfred Baumgaertner. "Our mobile batteries have great potential in these markets that recently got a significant shot in the arm by Tesla's announcements." Read more from Nomadic Power, and at Green Car Congress. 2015 Subaru Legacy is fresh-faced and more frugal
Thu, 06 Feb 2014While Subaru posted its best sales year ever in the United States in 2013, over half of its sales came from the success of the new Forester and popularity of the Outback. Its midsize Legacy sedan, on the other hand, saw sales tumble 10.3 percent. The company known for its all-wheel drive models hopes to right that trajectory with the 2015 Legacy. The all-new sedan sees a slight bump in fuel economy and a commitment to giving buyers a better product to compete against segment stalwarts like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
The refreshed sedan wears Subaru's new design language, which was teased by the Legacy Concept at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. However, the production version takes the hard, crisp lines down several notches, and it is bordering on boring at first glance. The best detail of the new design is the new hexagonal shield grille at the front that lends a little upscale panache over the current car's simple, rectangular front end. The coupe-like roofline has also been toned down from the concept, but it does smooth out the rear better than the current gen.
The Legacy's engines are carried over almost identically from last year's car. However both flavors of manual transmission are finally bowing out; all models now come with Subaru's Lineartronic CVT. Output from the 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder sees a slight bump to 175 horsepower (2 hp more than last year's model) and 174 pound-feet of torque. The 3.6-liter boxer six-cylinder is unchanged at 256 hp and 247 lb-ft. Fuel economy benefits from the new platform with the 2.5-liter model rated at an estimated 26/36/30 miles per gallon city/highway/combined, a boost of 2/4/3 mpg, respectively, over the previous generation. The 3.6-liter also sees a modest rise to 20/28/23 mpg, 2/3/3 mpg better respectively. Fairly impressive figures for an all-wheel-drive, midsize sedan.
