2005 Suburu Baja Turbo Low Mileage, Rust Free Southern Car Turbocharged, Intercooled, Fuel injected, 2.5 L Double Overhead Cam, 5 speed, All Wheel Drive We bought this car this past spring because my Wife HAD to have it! She has horses, and felt it would be perfect. Problem is, she is in her 50's, and has developed a problem with her leg that makes using the clutch "un-comfortable" so we are selling the car.... We purchased the car from a Body Shop / Rebuilder in Arkansas, who had been driving the car for several months, after he repaired it. The previous owners were retired, and towed the car behind their RV. I was told the car was being towed by the RV and somehow got swiped in a turn, and the front fender, Lower "A Arm", front door skin and rear door skin got damaged. Not bad damage I was told, and a easy fix, but the Title is now branded "Rebuilt" but should be legal in any state. The car has NEVER seen salt. Even this winter, it has been stored inside (thinking my wife may begin driving it again, we parked it in the shop) So the body is near perfect condition with ZERO rust. The car drives like new, (and is FAST) Not being sure of past maintenance, we did a "full Service" on the Car- The miles on the Odometer are 30K, but the Car Fax listed them at 60K, so we were not sure. The radiator hoses were replaced, new coolant, NEW TIMING BELT with new water pump and cam belt tensioner, new serpentine belt, and new spark plugs were done. New oil, and filter. Basically, all maintenance was done, so we "knew were we are" with the car. We have receipts for these items, but the point is, it is ready for many miles of use! The parts that came off were all in very good condition, but my wife wanted to make sure she was not stranded, so everything was done to be safe. We did NOT detail this car to take the pictures (It was Zero degrees outside) so any spots you see are likely dirt (or snow/ice). The only significant flaws in the car are the Front Passenger door panel, and to a lesser amount, the Rear Passenger Door Panel. This was caused by my dog. My dog (he is in some of the pictures) had to have his head out the window, and his claws scratched the vinyl along the top of the door inside panel. We have had Seat covers on the car, front and back, the entire time we have had the car (taken off for the pictures) We drove the car this summer and fall, and put about 6,000 trouble free miles on it. My wife hauled a few plants in the bed, and some horse feed, so it is a little dirty. It does have the "Blue Ox" tow bar connection set up on the front of the car, and a Class 2 hitch on back. I would not be afraid to let my wife drive the car cross country with no worries, if she wanted Call 815-357-3292. Once Reserve is met, Ebay auction WILL NOT be canceled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Below is some information about the 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo I got off the internet. I think if you are looking at these, you know these were only built for 3 years, and you how special this car was, and this one has all the bells and whistles! The Baja is a capable performer on rough roads, and its open bed lends it a rugged, outdoorsy, active feel. Turbo is fast and fun. AWD performance is stellar, and the handling is easy and smooth. The Subaru Baja is, generally speaking, a car-based crew-cab pickup truck. Based on the 2000-2004 Subaru Outback, it shares the same 104.3-inch wheelbase, but is 6 inches longer in rear overhang. The Baja has seating accommodations for four full-size adults. But instead of a conventional trunk or the glassed-in storage box of a wagon, the Baja substitutes the cargo box of a pickup truck. Subaru figures that the Baja appeals to those wanting utility without the harsh ride and poor fuel economy that often come with a truck-based vehicle. Should you think that the Baja is just a remake of the El Camino, Subaru has added some features that make the cargo box even more useful. Most importantly, the Baja's cargo bed can be extended by using the "Switchback" feature, similar to the Midgate design found on the Avalanche. The front of the bed along with the rear seat back fold forward into the rear seating area, expanding the usable length of the bed from 41.5 to 60 inches. The Baja is relatively enjoyable to drive thanks to its responsive suspension and steering, acceleration is good with the turbocharged version of that engine, good for 210 hp. The Baja Turbo still isn't a performance car any more than it's suited for serious towing and hauling, but it is peppy in traffic. It's for those who frequent Home Depot as a hobby, picking up a new ficus and trellis instead of drywall and furniture. It's great at transporting bulky sports equipment, such as a surfboard or skis, but not necessarily great for moms picking up kids and the groceries during a rainstorm. The Subaru Baja is for for those who need about half the open-bed cargo utility of a truck as well as a vehicle that rides like a car, the Baja is a reasonable choice. Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The Baja starts you out with 16-inch alloy wheels; fog lights; air conditioning; a CD player; cruise control; a moon roof; power windows, locks and mirrors; and keyless entry. Step up to the Baja Turbo and you get a more powerful turbocharged engine along with an upgraded six-speaker audio system with an in-dash CD changer. This model has the optional tubular bed extender. The Baja Turbo boasts a turbocharged version that produces 210 hp and 235 lb-ft of twist. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; a four-speed automatic is optional. All Subaru vehicles sold in the United States come with standard all-wheel drive, and the Baja is no exception. This Subaru can carry a maximum payload of 1,050 pounds, and has a 2,400-pound towing capacity. This is about half of what a typical compact pickup can pull, but it's enough to easily accommodate a personal watercraft or a couple of motorcycles. Safety The Subaru Baja comes standard with four-wheel antilock disc brakes and pre-tensioners and load limiters for the front seat belts. Interior Design and Special Features The Baja's cargo box is smaller than the beds of traditional compact pickups, but this car-based pickup does offer a handsome interior that scores high marks for style, comfort and ergonomics. Utility is maximized via the Switchback feature; to use, flip up the bottom cushion of the rear seat, fold the rear seat back forward and fold the trapdoor flat into the rear seat. The optional tailgate extender increases cargo bed length to 75 inches. Driving Impressions Those looking for a little excitement would be advised to check out the Baja Turbo model, which has ample power for just about any situation. The Subaru Baja has a fully independent suspension and rides much more like a car than a truck. It has a comfortable ride around town and never feels unstable when going around corners. Heavy-duty suspension components and 8.2 inches of ground clearance allow it to tackle rutted dirt roads and sandy washes without a problem. Subaru lifts leg at Super Bowl, goes with Puppy Bowl ads instead

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

There will be many automakers spending millions upon millions of dollars advertising in the Super Bowl next weekend, but Subaru will not be one of them. Instead, the automaker will be catering toward animal - specifically dog - lovers with a set of commercials for the 2014 Subaru Forester that will appear during Puppy Bowl IX on Animal Planet.
The ads all build on Subaru's reputation of being a dog-friendly brand, and its latest "Dog Tested. Dog Approved" campaign will feature four 20-second spots. Of the four, "Tailgate" and "On The Lot" are definitely the most entertaining, while "Let's Talk Financing" and, especially, "Lint Roller" are snoozers.
Scroll down to watch all four spots, and there's also a press release listing other initiatives Subaru is planning to attract dog lovers. If you like dog commercials, you should check out the newest spot from Volkswagen, too.

2016 Subaru BRZ gets new touchscreen, lower price

Fri, Aug 28 2015

Subaru is freshening up its lovable BRZ coupe for 2016, adding a spate of new options and tweaking the price ever so slightly. On the options front, the rear-driver gets a new 6.2-inch touchscreen multimedia system. Like the current car's standard 6.1-inch affair, it offers AM/FM/HD radio, satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity. The new system will also play nice with your smartphone, adding integration for Aha, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Stitcher, and a few other more mundane, everyday apps, adding weather and news features. A rear-view camera will also come standard. While the new infotainment system is added across the range, it's the only real change happening for 2016. The Limited trim remains identical to the 2015, offering owners an Alcantara trimmed cabin, with suede and leather seat accents and keyless access, while the car's exterior gets a body-color spoiler and fog lights. Dual-zone climate control, heated seats, and heated mirrors also come standard on the up-market trim. Despite the new 6.2-inch display, Subaru has actually cut prices by $300 on both versions of its two-door model for 2016. The base model kicks off at $26,190, while the Limited rings up at $28,190. Fans of the BRZ's six-speed automatic Philistines can get a two-pedal BRZ for $29,290, which includes the Limited trim equipment. Read on for the official press release, direct from Subaru. 2017 Subaru BRZ First Drive

Fri, Jul 8 2016

When the Subaru BRZ debuted in 2012, it was heralded as a return to the traditional Japanese sport coupe formula – a compact, lightweight, rear-wheel-drive runabout that hearkened back to greats like the original Toyota Celica, Mazda's RX-3, and the Nissan 240SX. Japan is covered in mountains, and that's where its enthusiasts honed their hooning. Cars that emphasize handling, not horsepower, make the most sense there. Now, five years on, Subaru is using the model's first facelift to further differentiate it from its Toyota cousin. The BRZ is Subaru's ultimate vision of a sophisticated driver's car, more string-backed gloves than flat-brimmed hat. To prove the point, Subaru invited us to drive the refreshed 2017 specimen, along with 2016 models for comparison, at Japan's legendary Fuji Speedway. The BRZ's revised styling makes the distinction painfully clear right off the bat. It now sports a squarer jawline, with a chin described by senior designer Yuki Kumono as aircraft-inspired. LED DRLs are embedded in the new headlamps, moved up from the space they once shared with fog lights. A side note for Subaru fans: The C-shaped DRLs are called "hawkeyes" internally, which is sure to cause confusion among Subarists who have already given that name to the 2006–07 Impreza WRX and STI. Freshened taillights and a reshaped spoiler update the badonk, and the Subie has new fender inserts. Styling is of course a subjective matter, but anyone who says the sea-creature maw of the post-Scion 2017 Toyota 86 is better looking is clearly wrong. Ultimately, though, the question on everybody's minds is, "Does the BRZ have any more danged power?" The answer to that is yes, technically, but only on certain cars. The 2.0-liter boxer four makes five more horsepower and five more pound-feet of torque only on manual-transmission cars. That brings the totals to 205 hp and 156 lb-ft. Cries for a turbocharger have gone stubbornly unanswered. In typical Japanese fashion, it's not the numbers that matter. Subaru has focused instead on the overall driving feel, that elusive metric that can't be expressed on a spec sheet or through the frothing internet comments of armchair racers. Subaru's engineers, some of whom are trained as the company's expert test drivers, have toiled away at a host of improvements for the base Premium trim, the upper Limited grade, and a new Performance Package that's available on top of the latter.
