1971 SUBARU 360 Great Condition 15,709 Original Miles yes 15,709 original miles.  Runs and Drives great. I only drove it for a few miles. This Subaru 360 micro car was bought in 1974 and spent most of it life stored in a subaru dealership/part display most of it life. was taken out in 2000-2001 was repainted, and serviced , driven to a few shows, about 200 miles and put back on display until I purchased it 1 month ago. I do have the 1974 title and 1974 sells agreement.    The 360 Subaru came to the states in 1968 -1971 they only made a few 360's in 1971 they ended them early 1971.  Yes this is a 2dr.sedan.   but many people remove the fiber glass top and back window to run as convertible. it is removable and very easy . Google 360 Subaru.  very nice shape in side and out, unbelievable for a unrestored car. undercarriage same condition. Doors open to rear.  Paint is very nice,  clean and shinny, but not the high gloss show car finish. has a few very small nicks, one small paint crack on drivers door. dash pad, has some cracks , head liner has tear. some dry cracking on tires. lite dent near trunk hinges, can easly be pulled out, by pulling out on hinge. some corrosion on hub caps. these 360's have alum ribbed hubs, to me they look much better with out the hub caps on, they can be polished. Has 10"wheels and tires. All gauges, lights, horn, turn signals , all work correctly. It is a 2 cylinder forced air engine with 3 speed with over drive, so I guess it would be a 4 speed. has gas tank and oil tank. I do have a large manual to go with car. shows everything about this 360, and drivers handbook, service manual. Hopefully it goes into someone's collection or museum. I also have 2 parts cars, they go with it if you want them, they are over 2 hours from my home. you must pick them up if you want them. This car is located in Willow Street pa, just south of Lancaster Pa. Buyer is responsible for all Shipping/pickup. Please ask any questions. come take a look at this little car. being sold AS IS.  I do not give out the reserve, unless your in my drive way with cash. reserve is much lower than the car value. you may make offers. Being Sold AS IS . good luck bidding 1-717-617-2444 Bill

2015 Subaru Outback offers more room and better econ behind that new face

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

While its new front fascia makes the biggest obvious impact, Subaru says changes to the entire 2015 Outback package make it roomier, more powerful, more efficient and quieter. The hexagonal grille gets it in line with the corporate template, to go along with a new shape to the lower grille and fog light cladding, a sharp crease for a shoulder line and a faster rake to the windshield. The rocker panel cladding and its 'toothed' molding remain, but it now also doubles as a step for when you want to place items on the roof rack.
Under the aluminum hood will either be a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder boxer engine with 175 horsepower and a carryover 174 pound-feet of torque, or a 3.6-liter inline-six-cylinder with 256 hp and 247 lb-ft exclusively in the 3.6R Limited model. Paired to the lower-friction Lineartronic CVT that is the only shifting choice, and aided by features like the active grille shutter system and electric power steering, Subaru estimates fuel economy for the four-cylinder at 25 miles per gallon city, 33 highway and 28 combined, an increase of 1/3/2 mpg over the outgoing car. The sixer is pegged at 19 city, 27 highway and 22 combined, an increase of 2 mpg across the board.
The Outback has grown in every dimension, but never by more than 0.7 of an inch. The passenger cabin grows by 2.7 cubic feet, though, so occupants have more shoulder, hip, elbow and legroom. The cargo hold is enlarged by 1.2 cu-ft with the rear seats up, by 2.0 cu-ft with them down and the load floor is flatter. Accessing it is made easier by the memory height function on the power tailgate and new release handles for the rear thrones. Cabin ambiance is improved by sound abatement measures like an acoustic windshield, thicker panels and more noise-insulating foam.

2015 Subaru Outback

Realistically, many enthusiasts give horrible, horrible car buying advice. They will recommend something bizarre, inappropriately high performance, compromised or utterly impractical for a given consumer's needs, and they'll almost never recommend something that makes sense. And then they'll come up with 3.7 million reasons why the leading vehicle someone is thinking about is a bad choice.
Or maybe that's just what I do.
Regardless, if you poke, prod, bother or just get us drunk enough, eventually you'll begin getting honest feedback. And more than likely, we'll tell you, in hushed tones, about the many virtues of very, very boring cars. We'll talk about why the Toyota Camry is actually a pretty decent purchase or we'll explain how spacious and feature laden the Nissan Versa is.

US Army tests Subaru-powered hybrid truck

Sat, 04 Jan 2014

The military has been studying the implementation of alternative drivetrains for years, a tiny sampling of which includes the diesel-electric hybrid technical hauler and L-ATV from Oshkosh Defense and the Aggressor from Quantum Technologies. There was also ADA Technologies' work with ultracapitors, General Motors' focus on fuel cells and the roll out of electric motorcycles for Special Forces. In the Ultra Light Vehicle (ULV) prototype vehicle pictured above, we have the latest developments in the Department of Defense's hybrid interest combined with a need to develop a lightweight replacement for the AM General Humvee.
In 2010 the Office of the Secretary of Defense put the Army's Tank Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC) in charge of developing a personnel carrier that could "balance payload, performance and protection," and do so without exorbitant cost. Armored Humvees can weigh more than seven tons, and while the ULV is just under 14,000 pounds, the new vehicle can do a lot more with its weight.
The Subaru turbodiesel under the hood puts out 175 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. That's not much for pulling 13,916 pounds, so it's assisted by two Remy 410HVH HT electric motors each capable of adding 268 continuous hp and 369 peak hp, along with 844 lb-ft of continuous torque or 1,221 ft-lbs at peak. They're only limited by the 14.2 kWh lithium-ion battery rated at 65 kW of continuous power and 180 kW of peak power, but still, TARDEC says the ULV can do 21 miles on electric power and on the flats has a combined range of 337 miles at 35 mph.
