Subaru Brz Limited W/ Innovate Supercharger And A Ton Of Extras/upgrades on 2040-cars
Fairfax, Virginia, United States
I just recently purchased a Cadillac CTS-V sedan and don't have room for the both. I've owned the BRZ for a little over 17 months. The car has ~17.3k miles on it. I'm an adult driver and never abuse the car, do burnouts, hit redline, etc. The car has been well maintained. I regularly service all the fluids with Motul products and inspect the car regularly. I'm the original owner, bought the car brand new (ordered it). It is the limited model with all options. I paid $32.5K (not including taxes) out the door for it. I've invested over $21K in the car with premium parts and clean/quality upgrades. It's truly done right and all-around perfect.
The Limited Trim includes navigation, push button start, alcantara/leather seats (heated), dual automated climate control w/ digital read outs, and a homelink adaptive rear view mirror. List of Upgrades: Engine/Drivetrain: - Innovate Supercharger Kit (with Intercooler Upgrade) $4,700 - Raceseng Pulley (72.5mm) $95 - DeatschWerks 700cc Fuel Injectors $330 - EcuTek License & Cable (Tune via Moto-East) $900 - Perrin Cold-Air Intake (Black) $320 - FA20CLUB EL Manifold/Header (Catted) $1000 - Perrin 2.5" Overpipe $380 - FA20CLUB Front Pipe (Resonated) $350 - Perrin Oil Cooler (Black) $700 - Mishimoto Radiator and Silicon Hose Kit $500 - Omni 3-bar MAP sensor $120 - Perrin Rear Shifter Mount $50 - Motul 300V Race Oil and Motul Racing 300 Gear Fluid (Transmission/Differential) $200 Suspension: - Eibach Multi-Pro R2 Coilovers $3100 - Hotchkis Sway Bars (F&R) $500 - Front Cusco Carbon Fiber Strut Tower w/ Brake Brace $280 - Rear Cusco Carbon Fiber Strut Tower $225 Brakes: - Motul RBF600 Brake Fluid $75 Fronts: - 14" Wilwood 6 Pot Brake Kit (2pc rotors) $2000 - Carbotech XP-10 Pads and SS Lines $280 Rear: - Carbotech XP-10 Pads and Speigler SS Lines (OEM rotors) $240 Wheels/Tires: - ESM 004s Wheels (18x8/18x9) $760 - Dunlop Direzza Z2 (235/40/18 & 255/35/18) $1070 Aesthetics: - Bayson R Front Lip $190 - Bayson R Side Skirts $250 - Tom's LED Tail Lights $490 - SunTek CXP 35% Tint $250 - Perrin 2" Stubby Antenna $30 - OEM JDM Clear Side Markers $115 - Stealth Turn Signal Bulbs $10 - DC Sports Stealth Series EX-1017B Matte Black Exhaust Tips $40 Interior/Accessories: - Cusco Leather Steering Wheel $580 - Sutty (Aussie) Custom Armrest $210 - STI Shift Knob $180 - Bluetooth enabled OBDII reader w/ Torque App (Android) - Lightweight Trailer Hitch $280 Parts I have but haven’t installed: - Whiteline Gearbox - positive shift kit bushing - Whiteline Crossmember - mount insert bushing - Whiteline Differential - mount in cradle & support outrigger insert bushing - Brake Ducts and 3" Black Hosing (building custom brake cooling kit) - A ton of OEM stuff You can see a ton of pics and my build thread at ft86club (dot) com and search for swift996 ft86club dot com/forums/showthread.php?t=63588 |

Subaru mulls motorsports return, nixes small CUV plans
Fri, 08 Aug 2014The Subaru WRX STI breaking the automotive lap record at the Isle of Man might be just the beginning of the headlines trumpeting a Subaru racecar. According to the latest rumors, the Japanese brand is looking at taking motorsports more seriously in the future. That could possibly even mean endurance racing at Le Mans.
According to Auto Express, the brand is mulling a greater participation in motorsport, but the big question is where. The World Rally Championship isn't a certainty because it now favors smaller cars like the Volkswagen Polo. Subaru still competes in series like Rally America and Global Rallycross, but there are bigger stages to play on.
What's interesting, is that this commitment to motorsports comes right as the automaker is denying plans to build a small CUV for its passenger car lineup. According to Auto Express, the company has no intention of developing a crossover smaller than the current XV Crosstrek. Even if the sales are there, it would just cost too much to develop. In the US, at least, the XV is doing great with sales up 42 percent in July.
Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. How new car shortages may impact your buying experience
Wed, 04 Sep 2013If you want further proof that the auto industry is bouncing back, look no further than the empty lots and forecourts of your local dealership. According to a story by The Wall Street Journal, continued high demand for mainstream cars is overtaxing automakers' ability to produce enough models. Several dealers interviewed for the story are reporting two-week supplies as opposed to the typical two-month allocations.
With sales expected to hit 1.4 million units when August numbers arrive shortly and incentive spending down to its lowest amount since January, these limited supplies are pushing prices even higher. For example, according to the WSJ, the average price of a Ford Fusion is up past $26,000. Unfortunately, it's difficult for manufacturers to increase production quickly. If it invests in its facilities, as many manufacturers have done, it risks wasting cash if growth suddenly slows. At the same time, the momentum gained over the past several years could be short lived if vehicle supplies continue to dwindle. "Manufacturers are in a precarious situation," notes Karl Brauer, a senior director at Kelley Blue Book.
Low interest rates and a wealth of desirable features are also allowing customers to purchase more expensive vehicles while justifying their higher overall price tags, a situation that is compounding supply shortages. Even now, during the annual end-of-summer clearance season, deals on new vehicles are remarkably difficult to come by. According to the report, the Toyota Corolla is in a self-inflicted state of shortage, as Toyota clears out inventory in anticipation of the new 2014 generation arriving in dealers. Ford's supplies should rebound as Fusion production comes on line at its Flat Rock, Michigan factory. The Chevrolet Impala, Honda Odyssey, Civic, and Accord and Subaru Forester are also facing shortages.
