For sale is an extremely tasteful rendition of the 2013 BRZ. This Limited version has a host of features that set it apart from the base model, and Scion FR-S variants.

This car is owned by an automotive enthusiast with a passion for quality and doing things right, this car has been modified on the premises of reliability first, performance second.

As it is a year round car, it receives a touch-free wash no less than twice a week in the Winter, and regular interior and exterior details in the summer.

Inside, you'll find automatic climate control, heated seats, in-dash navigation w/SiriusXM, and a leather wrapped steering wheel/shifter/e-brake handle. Additionally, custom Alcantara® trimmed pieces have been sourced from JPM Coachworks to add more soft-touch points, while making the interior more aesthetically pleasing.

The bumper has not been drilled for a front license plate so it is in perfect condition.

The engine has been pampered with Mobil1 0w-20 Synthetic oil throughout its life, with an OEM oil filter always being used. The gearbox is currently being lubricated with Pentosin MTF2 gear lubricant as well.

The Perrin exhaust system adds a negligible amount of power, but is full stainless, and looks great. The sound is unobtrusive and very smooth.

A full list of modifications is below:
  • Perrin Inlet hose
  • Perrin Drop In Air Filter
  • Perrin Coolant Hoses
  • Perrin Oil Cap
  • Perrin Underdrive Pulley
  • Perrin Antenna
  • Perrin Transmission mount
  • Perrin Exhaust Hangars
  • Perrin Catback Exhaust
  • Braille 11.5lb Battery (Current stock battery is in place)
  • FT-86 Speed Factory Battery Mount Kit
  • JPM Coachworks Alcantara Shift Boot
  • JPM Coachworks Alcantara E-brake Boot
  • JPM Coachworks Alcantara Cluster Hood
  • JPM Coachworks Alcantara Knee Pads
  • Turn In Concepts Master Cylinder Brace
  • Kartboy Rear shifter bushing
  • Cusco Front Strut Bar
  • GrimmSpeed Hood Dampeners
  • STi Rear Spoiler Flap Gurney (Imported from Japan)
  • Titan Motorsports 3mm Wheel Spacers
  • 2004 STi BBS Wheels
The car currently has a brand new set of Falken Eurowinter 215/45-17 snow tires mounted on the factory 17" wheels.

The STi BBS Wheels have Dunlop Direzza summer tires mounted but I would recommend getting the tires replaced in the near future. They are perfectly fine for driving on as long as you don't do any spirited driving.

Non-smoker owned. Interior looks brand new.

Clean title, no prior accidents or incidents whatsoever.

All the OEM parts that were replaced will be included, along with the exhaust system if you wish to have that as well.

The car is being financed through a local banking institution and in the event of a sale there would be a waiting period in order for the lien to be paid off and the title reissued from the bank. If you are paying by check, a waiting period of 10 days is required to ensure the check clears.

Serious buyers only please. I want this car to go to someone who will appreciate and take care of it. I don't need to sell it but I have since bought another car and I can't justify having two (as much as I would like to)

Thanks for looking!

2015 Subaru Forester tS Quick Spin

Mon, Apr 6 2015

When Subaru invited me to Japan and the famed Suzuka racing circuit to drive its BRZ tS, there was more on the menu than sporting coupes. The STI buffet also included the Subaru Forester tS. If you caught my BRZ tS review, the Forester follows the same idea: modified for better, more precise handling but without any increase in power. As I shared in the first tS review, and with Subaru's news at the New York Auto Show, the company plans to increase the awareness of Subaru Tecnica International – STI – over the next five years. In the case of the BRZ tS, a similarly-conceived car is coming to the US in the next few years. Such is not the story with the Forester tS. The JDM-only product was on hand to drive as further proof of what STI can do, but not as a preview to an upcoming model for sale in America. Subaru execs wouldn't go so far as to rule the idea out completely, but there was plenty of wink-nudging admitting the limited market for something like the Forester tS over here. Firmly ensconced in the "forbidden fruit" category, then, I still thought it'd be fun to report on the hot-ish, wagon-ish Forester. This one's for the other car nerds like me. Driving Notes So, what's new on this tS? Basically STI made the Forester stickier and less prone to roll under high cornering load. The same type of flexible tower brace previously found under the hood of the WRX is used here, and "flexible draw stiffeners" connect the body to the front and rear subframes for added body stiffness. The braces incorporate a very strong coil spring, and add lateral stiffness with enough give to allow the tires to stay in perfect contact with the road surface. The tires in question are 245-section Bridgestones, riding on attractive 19-inch STI wheels, both increases from the 225-section tires and 18-inch wheels that come standard in the US on the Forester 2.0XT model. The tS also has a more-powerful Brembo braking package; handy when hauling a 3,600-pound vehicle down from straightaway speeds. Subaru benchmarked the tS versus other 'sporty' SUVs and CUVs, including out and out performance variants. (Japanese professional modesty prevented Subaru reps from naming specific names, but suffice it to say that the Germans were involved.) In terms of roll rates, yaw response, slalom time, g-force and more, the Subaru's tS package shows massive improvements versus the standard Forester, and holds up to the competitive targets too.

2015 Subaru WRX: Road trip to Maine [w/video]

Fri, Nov 28 2014

After driving one of the best sport compacts on the market to one of the best-driving-roads states in the Union, who'd have thought that one of my big takeaways would be... great fuel economy? And yet, after putting more than 2,200 miles on our long-term 2015 Subaru WRX, driving from Ann Arbor, MI, to The Great State of Maine and back, my overall fuel consumption figures were almost as baffling as the premium-gasoline prices throughout Canada. In the early part of the now-past autumn, my wife Molly and I were happy to make use of the long-term WRX for our annual road trip from Michigan to Maine. Our goal, as ever, was to fit as much hiking, boating and lobster eating as we could into a one-week span. And, with the sporting Scoobie as our ride this time, I also hoped to spend time bombing down some of my favorite roads through the White Mountains. Anyone that pays attention to the industry knows that New England is a hot spot for Subaru sales, but it turns out that the WRX is just about tailor made for enjoying the best of Maine, too. First up, though – as it was the most surprising to me – is the fuel economy story. I knew going into the trip that I'd log more than two grand on the odometer, but I never expected the returns to be quite so positive as they ended up netting out. My total observed economy over 2,226 miles was 28.38 miles per gallon, or just a fraction better than the EPA estimated highway number of 28 mpg. How'd I do that? My total observed economy over 2,226 miles was 28.38 miles per gallon. Well, for starters, the stretch of Canadian highway between Michigan and Vermont is exceptionally long, flat, straight and dull. Excepting the inevitable traffic around Toronto, the trip is mostly of the "set it and forget it" variety, typically at a cruise of about 72 miles per hour (so as not to attract the Mounties). Doing that haul, I had one tank of premium (15.9 gallon capacity) last for 466 miles, running a trip-best 31.9 mpg. Considering that the Canadian petrol was running me roughly five American bucks per gallon, I appreciated the Subie's newfound frugality. One small issue, tangentially related to fuel, did crop up on the road. The WRX's gas door stopped popping open when I pulled the lever after my second fill up. As it turned out, there is a technical service bulletin out for this very issue, which was looked after as soon as we got back to the States.
