RISK OF LOSS & SHIPPING
Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and all related charges. This vehicle will be F.O.B. at our dealership location in Naples, Florida, once the $500 down payment, remaining balance of vehicle purchase price, completed copies, documents and paperwork, etc., and additional fees are paid to and received by Deals 4 U LLC. Upon this occurrence, the risk of loss transfers to the buyer who should place appropriate insurance coverage on the vehicle to protect it against any damage or loss from this point in time going forward. Deals 4 U LLC shall not be responsible for any damage or loss to the vehicle after the risk of loss has transferred to buyer. Furthermore, if buyer, buyer's agent(s) or buyer's carrier causes damage or loss to the vehicle before the risk of loss transfers to buyer, buyer shall pay Deals 4 U LLC the full purchase price of the vehicle and shall defend, indemnify and hold Deals 4 U LLC harmless against any and all claims or litigation etc., that arise from the damage or loss to the vehicle, including but not limited to property damage or injury/death to any person. If the vehicle sustains damage or loss before the risk of loss transfers to buyer which is not caused by buyer, buyer's agent(s) or buyer's carrier, Deals 4 U LLC and buyer agree that Deals 4 U LLC, at its sole discretion, may cancel this contract and return all monies to buyer and that this shall be buyer's sole legal remedy against Deals 4 U LLC. ADDITIONAL FEES WE COLLECT
Florida buyers will be responsible for paying applicable Florida sales tax, title, registration, license plate fees and a $100 dealer fee in addition to the purchase price of the vehicle before the vehicle is delivered to buyer at our dealership. Some Florida buyers may be entitled to a license plate credit which will lower the fees to be collected. Florida buyers shall sign all necessary documents and provide a copy of their driver's license when requested by Deals 4 U LLC. The vehicle will not be released or delivered to buyer until all copies, documents and paperwork, etc., are completed to the satisfaction of and provided to Deals 4 U LLC. Buyer also agrees to go with a representative of Deals 4 U LLC to a local tax collector to register and title the vehicle if requested to do so by Deals 4 U LLC. We are required to remit the sales tax that you pay us directly to the Florida Department of Revenue. You can obtain a "fast title" at the tax collector's office by paying an additional $25 fee or wait for the title to be mailed to you by the tax collector's office in approximately 3-4 days for no additional fee.
Out-of-state buyers will be responsible for paying up to 6% sales tax (depending on their state's sales tax rates) and a $100 dealer fee in addition to the purchase price of the vehicle before the vehicle is delivered to buyer at our dealership. THE GOOD NEWS: Most states have sales tax reciprocity with the State of Florida which means that you will be given a sales tax credit by your state for sales tax paid to our dealership. We are required to remit the sales tax that you pay us directly to the Florida Department of Revenue. THE BAD NEWS: A small minority of the states do not have sales tax reciprocity with the State of Florida and you will have to pay sales tax again if you take delivery of the vehicle at our dealership. Please check with your local department of motor vehicles to determine if your state has sales tax reciprocity with the State of Florida prior to bidding on this vehicle. Deals 4 U LLC will not be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages, etc. that result from Buyer's failure to determine whether or not there is sales tax reciprocity in the state where the vehicle will be titled. THE SOLUTION: If you have a third party carrier pick up your vehicle with a truck or trailer and deliver it to you outside the State of Florida, we are not required to collect sales tax from you! However, buyer will still be responsible for paying the $100 dealer fee. All out-of-state buyers shall sign any necessary documents before a notary public and provide a copy of their driver's license when requested by Deals 4 U LLC. The vehicle will not be released until all copies, documents and paperwork, etc., are completed to the satisfaction of and provided to Deals 4 U LLC.
INSURANCE
Florida buyers and out-of-state buyers who will be taking delivery of the vehicle at our dealership must place liability insurance coverage of a minimum of $25,000 on the vehicle and provide proof of insurance coverage to Deals 4 U LLC prior to delivery of the vehicle to buyer at our dealership. Please understand that the vehicle cannot be released or delivered to buyer until proof of insurance coverage is provided to us. This is the requirement of the Florida Department of Transportation and our dealership must follow this requirement.

Deals 4 U LLC and buyer agree that the sale/purchase of this vehicle shall be subject to the laws of the State of Florida with venue in Collier County, Florida at all times. Buyer waives any and all rights to claim or receive incidental and consequential damages against Deals 4 U LLC relating to or arising out of this transaction. Scion FR-S may be getting supercharger kit from TRD
Mon, 05 Nov 2012The Scion FR-S was just named the Hottest Sport Compact at the 2012 SEMA Show, and Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is apparently looking to make this car a little hotter. According to Car and Driver, TRD is close to coming up with a supercharger to fit to the car's 2.0-liter flat-four engine in order to squeeze out a little more performance. Currently, the FR-S produces 200 horsepower, but there's no guessing how much a supercharger could improve this figure.
With Subaru seemingly hard at work on a new turbo engine for the BRZ and even possibly a BRZ STI model, it is only logical for a force-fed FR-S to be in the works as well. Surprisingly, though, the report says that supercharger would be unique to the FR-S, but since the Scion and Subaru BRZ are mechanically identical, it isn't clear how this would be accomplished. TRD already offers plenty of upgrades for the FR-S such as exhaust, brake and suspension kits, and it offers a handful of superchargers for other models including the 5.7-liter V8 used in the Toyota Tundra and the 4.0-liter V6 used in the Tacoma.
2016 Scion iA First Drive
Mon, Jun 29 2015Leading up to our first test of the 2016 Scion iA, we're actually really excited to drive it. A string of "if A, then B" logic tells us this car ought to be pretty good. We drove the new Mazda CX-3 and loved it. The CX-3 is based on the Mazda2 platform. The Scion iA is a rebadged Mazda2, built in Mexico as part of Toyota and Mazda's joint venture. Following that line of thought, we should like this Scion a lot. And we do – mostly. Parts of the Scion iA experience feel a lot more Toyota than Mazda. Scion executives tell us that Toyota had a lot of influence in the engineering of the Mazda2, since in addition to being the iA in the US, the car will be sold as the Yaris in other markets. Unfortunately, that Toyota-ness comes through in the driving dynamics. The iA uses Mazda's 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine with 106 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 103 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. On the canyon roads near Malibu, CA, we're putting pedal to the metal; uphill acceleration is unsurprisingly poor for a car with meager output numbers like these. Around town, 106 hp and 103 lb-ft is perfectly fine for the 2,385-pound iA. And it allows the car to return impressive EPA-estimated fuel economy numbers of 33 miles per gallon city, 42 mpg highway, and 37 mpg combined with the six-speed automatic transmission. Should you choose the six-speed manual, those numbers only drop to 31, 41, and 35, respectively. The six-speed stick is all Mazda, and we love it. You should choose the manual, by the way. The six-speed stick is all Mazda, and we love it. Gear throws are short and snappy, and the clutch has a nice weight and crisp action. Driving the manual iA back to back with the six-speed iM really points out that Mazda makes a far better manual transmission than Toyota. Great gearbox aside, on these canyon roads, we're feeling a bit let down. Never mind the acceleration issues, the iA just doesn't feel like a Mazda in the turns. Credit where credit's due: the steering is really nice, with a solid feeling on center and crisp turn-in and lots of feedback throughout the entire range of motion. But we're remembering the solid, planted feeling the CX-3 exhibited when we hustled it along the mountain roads of Arizona. And we aren't feeling it here in the Scion iA.
2013 Scion FR-S
Thu, 10 Jan 2013The New Poster Child For Cheap Thrills
Let me tell you about a man named Larry. Larry works for a company called STI Fleet Services, one of a few companies that are responsible for the cleaning, prepping, maintaining, scheduling, delivering and picking up of the cars we test on a weekly basis, not to mention a whole slew of other duties. STI and its competitors are the silent heroes of this whole automotive journalism biz. Larry is one of the guys responsible for a lot of the grunt work - he's been delivering cars to me for nearly seven years now, and because of that, we've developed a bit of a rapport. Now that I think about it, my history with Larry goes back farther than several of my friendships, as well as every romantic relationship I've ever had... combined.
With that much history behind us, Larry knows my taste in cars pretty well. And even though he doesn't voice his own opinions about what's being delivered to me, Larry silently knows when he's about to hand me keys to something truly special. When Larry arrived at my door with a bright red 2013 Scion FR-S, I tried to play it cool. But Larry knows me better than that.
