Awesome 2011 Scion Xb 5-speed Manual- Private Auction! on 2040-cars
Pennington, New Jersey, United States
AWESOME 2011 SCION xB 5-SPEED MANUAL- PRIVATE AUCTION! We purchased this car new in August of 2010 from James Toyota in Flemington, NJ and it is gorgeous. It has always been kept in a garage, always filled with name-brand gas, always dealer-serviced and nobody has ever smoked in it. It has never been in an accident of any kind. Its exterior color is “Super White” and I can’t find the name that Scion uses for the interior color but you can see from the pics that it is a really snazzy gray with patterned fabric. If there’s a 2011xB out there in better condition than this one, it’s probably because somebody bought one and hung it on their living-room wall! You can pick through the equipment list (see the picture of the window sticker) but here are some highlights:
Current mileage (as of 12/24/2013) is 36,325 miles. VIN # JTLZE4FE6B1122964 Why are we selling it? All right, this is my wife’s car. I am a manual transmission fanatic, she wants an automatic. I love sports cars, she wants a luxury car. I say this is both; she doesn’t agree. This is a gorgeous car- I’m gonna miss it; she… not so much. You get the picture. Here’s what works on this car: Everything!! Here’s what you should know is not perfect:
Repairs that have been done on this car:
I am a straight-shooter, and you can bid with confidence. I have bought and sold on EBay many times over the years (including a couple of cars) and I have never received any negative feedback whatsoever. I will require cash or a bank cashier’s check and ID at pickup. I will require a deposit of $1,500 by cash, bank cashier’s check, or Paypal within 48 hours after the auction closes. You must pay the balance by cash or cashier’s check and pick up the car within 7 days after the auction closes. (I will accept Paypal for the balance of payment if you add 2.9% to the balance, which is what Paypal charges a seller to accept payment- believe it or not!) The xB must be picked up in person in Pennington, NJ. You will have to bring plates to drive it home. When you come to pick up the car, I will be happy to go with you for a drive on a variety of nearby roads. If this drive shows up any mechanical problems, I will return your deposit and you will be under no obligation to buy the car. Other than this caveat, however: If you are the winning bidder on this car, you are legally obligated to follow through on the purchase! MY RESERVE PRICE IS $13,700 ON THIS CAR. I AM NOT WILLING TO TAKE ANY LESS. SURE, IF NOBODY WILL PAY THAT PRICE AFTER ANOTHER LISTING OR TWO, I WILL LOWER THE PRICE, BUT I BELIEVE THIS IS A FAIR PRICE FOR A MANUAL xB IN THIS CONDITION. If you have any questions, please email me. Good luck on your bidding. Carl |

Toyota GT86 gets TRD treatment in UK
Fri, 08 Feb 2013As dearly as we love the Toyota GT86 / Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ franchise, we readily admit we wouldn't look sideways at a model with a bit more firepower. And while that's not quite on the table yet, Toyota has been busy amping up the visual firepower of its rear-drive coupe with a whole host of TRD parts. To this point, that's been a largely à la carte affair, but the automaker's UK outpost has just announced a special-edition model that allows our British friends to pick up the whole shooting match all in one go.
The Toyota GT86 TRD will only be available in black and white, and just 250 examples are to be built. As you can see from the excellent gallery above, the catalog of look-faster bits include a more aggressive front air dam, side skirts, rear bumper fascia, spoiler and unique 18-inch forged alloys. Additional flourishes include a TRD shift lever and branded radiator cap. The sole concession to actual performance? A "fast-response quad exhaust" that might only improve things audibly - 0-62 mph is apparently unchanged at 7.7 seconds, and the top end is still 140 mph for the manual transmission model. (The auto gets by with 8.4 seconds and 130 mph).
Pricing? Glad you asked. £31,495 for GT 86 TRD manual, £32,995 for the automatic - that's nearly $50,000 US for the tripedalist and just over for the automatic. (Those are heady prices, but bear in mind that UK MSRPs and taxes are generally significantly higher than their US counterparts). If the standard GT86 is more your speed, it still rings up at a more affordable £24,995 - roughly $39,500 - leaving plenty of budget for actual performance parts. No word yet on North American availability of a special TRD model, but we've got a call in...
The last new Scion is this tC Release Series 10.0
Wed, Mar 16 2016"We're not dead yet!" That's the message Scion will send next week at the New York Auto Show when it takes the stage with its very last brand-new car, the tC Release Series 10.0. For its final act, the tC gets an aero kit by JDM designer Ken Miura, consisting of a front lip spoiler, new rocker panels, a lower rear spoiler, and a little wing on the deck. Blacked-out Scion badges and gloss black alloy wheels contrast against this tC's unique Barcelona Red paint. It's not all for show, either. The Release Series 10.0 includes TRD lowering springs and TRD-tuned dual exhaust. Inside, black and red pours onto the new seat inserts, and there's similarly-toned contrast stitching on the shift boot, parking brake cover, and steering wheel. Only 1,200 examples will be built, available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The manual car will go for $23,985, and with the six-speed auto, add $1,150. It's all very fitting – Scion was introduced to the US at the New York show in 2002, and over the past 14 years, the tC was the brand's most popular car (and one of its longest-running). To commemorate the occasion, Scion will also show some of its most popular showcars, including the original 2002 BBx concept, 2009 iQ concept, and 2011 FR-S concept – the "Friggin' Really Sweet" car, if you recall. Scroll down for the official "Scion-ara" (yep) announcement. With a final Kei Miura-inspired tC Release Series 10.0, a display of some of its most impressive project cars, and cool swag, the Scion by Toyota booth is sure to be a flurry of activity at the New York International Auto Show, March 25 – April 3, 2016. It's only fitting that Scion closes its auto show history at New York since that's where it all began. Fourteen years ago Scion debuted its first concept vehicles and announced the new youth division for Toyota that would be a laboratory for experimentation and introduce new products and processes. That commitment to innovation carries through to the debut of Scion's final Release Series vehicle for the tC sports coupe, Scion's most popular car.
Scion rolls out its past concepts, one last time
Thu, Mar 24 2016In 2002, we first met Scion by way of the silver BBx concept you see above, the iconic toaster that soon became the production xB hatchback. That was the official kick-off of Toyota's youth-oriented brand, and it all started right here at the New York Auto Show. But Scion's being phased out this year, and the very last brand-new car is a special edition tC – interesting, since that's the only model not being carried over with Toyota badges. So to commemorate the life of Scion, just as it comes to an end, a number of the brand's most important concepts are on display in New York. The BBx is arguably the most important concept, though the one that garnered the most attention in recent years was the original FR-S (the "Friggin' Really Sweet" car) from the 2011 New York show. That came to production as Scion's (and Toyota's) best-driving car, using a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive architecture shared with the Subaru BRZ. Thankfully, the Scion FR-S will live on as the Toyota 86. Also of note are the 2004 FiveAxie Speedster xA, 2009 Kogi BBQ Truck XD, original 2009 iQ concept (remember the iQ?), and a 2014 tC designed by Slayer. They're all on display here in New York, and you can see them all, one last time, in the gallery above.
