2008 Scion Xb Automatic 18" Wheels on 2040-cars
2008 Scion XB We purchased this Scion for my wife from a local Chevy Dealer in mid 2008 with only 8,000 miles on it. The person that traded it in upgraded it with the 18" wheels currently on it and added the suspension. The stance is slightly lower than stock but the ride is great. The reason for the trade in was he needed a larger vehicle for work so he traded the Scion in on a new Tahoe. This has been her pride and joy. The original intent was to hand the Scion down to our daughter when she became of driving age in a couple years. Unfortunately the need for a larger passanger vehicle (Mini Van) got in the way of that plan. She hates to get rid of it but it doesn't make any since to let it sit for a couple years until our daughter starts driving. The XB has been a great car always located in Southern California. Excellent gas mileage. It seems to have a lot of power for a car in its class. The motor is the same one used in the 4 cylinder Toyota Camery. It has been serviced on a regular basis and routine oil changes. Currently the XB has new tires, New Battery and New Brakes. Exterior: The Dark Blue paint is in great condition. It has the normal wear. A couple small dings but nothing major. These can easily be removed with paintless dent removal. Interior: Amazingly spacious. Seats 5 comfortably and has lots of room for lugage. The interior is like new. Non smoker. Black Cloth seats. All lights and guages work properly. Carpet is in great shape. Original floor matts are still in it and in great shape. Even has the rear carpeted floor matt. Underside: The underside is in great shape. No leaks. Engine: Runs strong with no noises. No leaks. all Accessories work properly. A/C Blows Cold Trans: The Automatic shifts smoothly as it should. She is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Clean and clear title in hand. I will be more than happy to show the car or take some more pictures of specific areas if needed. Watch My listings as there will be 73-74 Chevy Truck Parts and more 70-71 Cuda Parts coming soon. I am more than happy to answer any questions so please ask any questions before bidding. Scion grabs Franco and Urkel in Weird move to sell iM and iA
Tue, Sep 15 2015Scion is prepping the advertising campaign for the new iA and iM and as so many automakers have done before, it's recruited some celebrity talent. It's choice of actors, though, is kind of strange. First, we have Mr. James Franco, star of This Is The End and generally weird dude. He pitches both the iA and iM, playing two different roles. While in the iA, he's James Franco The Actor, while the iM sees him shift into an "experimental artist." Along with talking about how strange it is that "someone so complex" would drive a "practical" car, Scion's narrator goes as far as admitting that it's kind of weird that the budget manufacturer was even able to scoop the Hollywood talent. The second spokesman, though, is even stranger. It's none other than Jaleel White, best known as Steven Q. Urkel from 1990s sitcom Family Matters. He stars alongside, um, Urkel (not to mention a rather annoying laugh track). In a rather weird spot that highlights the dual-zone climate control, White stars alongside a wax figurine of his iconic television character, even dropping one of his famous lines at the end. And finally, while this one doesn't have a celebrity endorsement, Scion prepared a third spot to support its new iA. Featuring a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man, it's perhaps the weirdest of the three videos. We have Franco's video at the top of the page, while the Urkel/White spot and wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man clip are available below. This content is hosted by a third party. Scion Brings the 'Weird' with James Franco and Jaleel White New Ad Campaign for Scion iA and iM Celebrates Everything Out of the Ordinary September 14, 2015 TORRANCE, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2015) – Scion has always been a little weird. With no-haggle pricing, standard premium features and cars shaped like toasters, Scion has proudly done things differently. Now, actors James Franco, Jaleel White, and an inflatable tube man take the all-new Scion iM and iA for a spin in the brand's newest ad campaign, titled "Weird, Right?" This is the largest marketing campaign for Scion since the brand's launch in 2003. The wave of weird contains three :30 TV spots.
Two new RWD Toyota sports cars to join FR-S?
Fri, 09 Aug 2013Toyota as we know it could become a thing of the past. According to Australian site Car Advice, the Japanese brand known for bland cruisers like the Camry and Corolla is preparing to bring two new rear-drive cars to market that would slot above and below the Scion-badged FR-S. This is very, very good news.
Car Advice spoke to the GT86/FR-S' chief engineer, Tatsuya Tada, who claimed, "Akio Toyoda always says to me, Toyota sports car [family] should be three sports car brothers. 86 is in the middle." The oldest "brother" would be the spiritual successor to the Supra, even if it doesn't wear that name. Tada is in charge of that project, while a sub-GT86 project is being headed-up elsewhere.
Tada refused to comment on names (CA specifically mentions MR2 and Celica) for the new small car, but did say that, "Yes it is rear-wheel drive and that's Toyota's strong position - Toyota sports car must be rear-wheel drive." Perhaps the juiciest bit of information obtained from Tada's interview with Car Advice was his hinting that both new sports cars would be joint ventures, like the GT86/FR-S/Subaru BRZ triplets. Tada wouldn't say who Toyota was in bed with on the smaller model, but did mention that the Supra would be a product of the world's largest automaker's partnership with BMW.
This Irishman really likes the Toyota GT86
Sun, 10 Feb 2013Okay, okay - by this point in time just liking the Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, what have you) doesn't make you special. Even if you're a sort of funny sounding, funny looking Irishman, who probably isn't the most seasoned car reviewer ever, digging the GT86 is not news.
However, if, when you choose to publish your ten-minute-long review, you include exclamatory phrases about your own pubic hair, Ozzy Osborne's drug habit and "gentleman vegetable stuff," well sir, then you'll have our attention.
Don't give up on this video, available down below, after the first couple of minutes, we implore you. The silver-tongued Irishman doesn't really get warmed up until four minutes in, or so. Believe us, it's worth the wait.
