93,000 miles
5 speed manual transmission w/ overdrive
185hp 190ft/lbs torque
2.4L 4 cylinder DOHC VVt-i Motor [2AZ-FE]
Bought it new in August '09. Obsessively maintained since day 1. Mobil 1 Full synthetic oil since the first oil change. Royal purple gear oil at 50,000 miles.
Just did motor oil (at 3,000 miles same as always) a few weeks ago. Cleaned air filter and the MAF sensor. Also swapped the gear oil (2nd time in 90k mi) a few weeks ago on the same day as motor oil.
Car is beautiful and was tastefully modified. Transmission shifts smoothly every time. Clutch still grabs hard. Car has operated perfectly every time I went to start it.
Never been stranded anywhere. Starts up fast. Car sounds amazing. Turns heads everywhere, but never been hassled by the Police about it. Has a deep smooth tone with no rasp.
Was worth the extra money for a nice sounding exhaust. OEM cats and resonators still attached, car is inspection friendly.
This car is fun and fast. On the backroads, it keeps up with much faster cars. Pulls hard on the highway too due to short gearing, but the twists and turns are where this car shines.
Gets great MPGs (26-30) if you can resist not romping on it.
90,500 miles seems like a lot, but when maintained properly these motors will go forever. Most damage to cars with high miles is done by the aging process. Rubber oxidizes and becomes brittle,
metal rusts etc.
All 4 rotors and brake pads replaced at 82,000 miles.
This car is young still. Zero rust. All the rubber hoses and bushings are pristine and like new.
No accidents ever. Some cosmetic work done after taking hail damage in 2011.
New spark plugs at 60k when car went in for a tune up.
Fuel treatment performed regularly for healthy flowing injectors.
Often I am asked what kind of car it is. Have been confused for Evo, Audi, Subaru etc.
I have all the stock/oem parts if you would prefer to revert back to stock. ex- OEM Exhaust, OEM Air box, OEM Front grills, OEM springs.
This car is one of the most passenger friendly coupes ever. PLENTY of room for people in the back. Back seats recline. Plenty of trunk space as well.
LOUD stereo that came with the car. 190W Pioneer with 6" subwoofer under panel in the trunk.
Car has never had ANY mechanical problems. Only time the check engine came on was due to gas cap not being clicked 3 times. New gas cap installed days ago to ensure perfect seal.
Very very safe car all around, 5 star ratings and such.
Excellent car to learn manual trans on.
Mods:

Weapon R: Secret Weapon Short Ram Intake $260
Tanabe Medallion Concept - G Exhaust $400
De-badged the rear by replacing trunk hatch handle with a de-badged version. (FYI tc trunk/hatch handles break easily. It is a known design flaw. Mine started to break so I replaced it.) - $80
TRD Billet Aluminum Oil Cap
Black Billet Aluminum TRD Badge
OEM wheels are painted Matte Black with "Plasti Dip" They look amazing.
Front tires are brand new from a few weeks ago. W Rated Westlake SV308 VERY VERY GRIPPY
Rear tires are Nankang NS-1 from last fall. 65% tread left. H Rated. Also very grippy.
Running lights, interior dome lights, reverse lights and license plate lights are all LEDs. Rear turn signals also LEDs. Corner markers in front came with clear bulb, replaced it with amber for deeper orange/amber glow.
Video of car at night copy paste this into browser address bar - videobam.com/VGoGP
The Bad:
Small dent on passenger door from a passenger opening it carelessly and allowing it to hit a nearby cars mirror. You have to look for it to find it. Nobody notices.
Some small areas of curb rash on wheels, but unnoticeable due to Plasti Dip paint.
Somehow the door handles got a bit scraped up. To this day I don't know how. . . All of this is very minor stuff.

Scion sketches SEMA spread starring Slayer, skateboarder
Sat, 20 Sep 2014I was in Nashville last weekend for a friend's bachelor party. It's all rather fuzzy, but I do recall that my friends and I found it hilarious to request Slayer every time one of the country groups on the Broadway strip asked for a specific song to be played. While there were a few good sports, most didn't find it too funny, largely because country music and Slayer don't mix all that well. Actually, Slayer and a lot of things don't mix too well. Like Slayer and Scion, Toyota's slowly withering youth brand.
This mish-mash hasn't prevented the Japanese budget brand from teaming with the metal group for a concept vehicle based on the tC coupe (shown above). If the Slayer link is a bit too extreme, Scion has a more mainstream xB, styled by skateboarder Riley Hawk on the way. Both new vehicles will be shown at the upcoming SEMA show, but Scion has opted to release a pair of sketches of both aftermarket creations ahead of the Las Vegas expo.
It's hard to tell what kind of exterior changes have been made to the tC, although Scion says the cabin now boasts a 32-inch monitor, as well as a heavily revamped stereo. As you can see, it will say "Slayer" on the door, in the band's stylized script.
Scion C-HR Concept looks sharp at LA Auto Show
Wed, Nov 18 2015The Scion C-HR concept was shown off as a Toyota concept last year at the Paris Motor Show, and we've been told it will show up at next year's Geneva Motor Show in production form. In the transition from a Toyota to a US-focused Scion, though, it's been saddled with a regrettable piece of marketing-speak: the press release says the C-HR concept was designed for "yuccies." That's an acronym describing 'young, urban creatives,' and it should go away. The C-HR is at the LA Auto Show, however, a visually fascinating concept that we're looking forward to seeing in production form; it could be good, or it could be meh. The C-HR stands for "Compact size and High Ride height," partly an effect of 21-inch wheels, and Scion says it will combine "supreme functionality" and "sporty performance" under that "polarizing" skin. We don't know much more than that about it now, save that its purpose is to be "a fantastic urban driving car." The press release below has lots of adjectives to help you imagine what that means; apparently, if you like cutting boards with grid lines and "earthy, modern terrariums," this will be for you. Related Video: Scion's Next Icon: World Debut of C-HR Concept Car at Los Angeles Auto Show TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 18, 2015 – When the designers for the Scion C-HR concept began their research, they were told by young urban creative customers, "Polarizing is ok. Boring is not." That sentiment was evident today as the Scion C-HR concept had its World Debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. With an iconic design that also incorporates functionality and sporty performance, the Scion C-HR concept is much like Scion's customer in that it strives to stand out from the crowd. "Scion is known for doing things differently, and maybe even being a little weird," said Scion Vice President Andrew Gilleland. "This C-HR concept embraces that idea and wears it like a badge of honor. We couldn't be more excited to add the production version to our line-up." The C-HR concept is named for its Compact size and High Ride height. With five doors and a hatch for supreme functionality, it's the perfect vehicle for "yuccies," the young urban creatives who inspired the design. These customers put an emphasis on great design and wanted something distinctive, sophisticated, passionate and clean. They viewed most SUVs as too boring and wanted something for their urban lifestyle that sparked emotion.
Toyota CEO Lentz still envisions Scion as a small premium brand
Sat, Dec 6 2014Ward's Auto has published a piece on Scion that further confirms that we really have no idea what to expect from the brand. In speaking with Toyota USA CEO Jim Lentz about what was once firmly intended to be a hip, experimental youth brand, Lentz said, "I still personally believe small-premium is the direction we should be going." We'll walk right on by Lentz's use of the word "still" and focus on "small-premium" with the question: How? As much as we dig the FR-S, nothing in the brand's lineup can get within a whiff of the word "premium." It's even further away from being able to sniff the lifestyle-powered exhaust of a Mini or Fiat 500, and the production version of the forthcoming IM Concept (inset) will only draw it closer to its plain vanilla parent. Of course, Scion could head the premium way, but the amount of time and money needed to make it work would seem to go against everything the brand currently stands for. The murk stays just as murky when Lentz's words are placed next to those of Scion brand VP Doug Murtha, who spoke to Ward's at a different time. Murtha's response to the "small-premium" note was, "He may be having discussions at levels I'm not," and that such intent is "probably a longer-term proposition than we're looking at right now," with planning under way out to 2025. We're already being prepared for the iM to come in under $20,000, which will ensure the "attainability factor" of the "younger audience" that Murtha still views as Scion's base. And at the moment, Murtha is probably focused on adding desirability to the current lineup, halting the 14-percent year-over-year sales slide to a point that's just over half the annual volume necessary for profitability, and making sure he and his dealers have the support necessary to make the required splash with new product. Aside from all that, what might we expect? We know there'll be another product shown along with the production IM at the 2015 New York Auto Show, and Murtha isn't against a small crossover if they can come up with "something appropriately Scion-esque." So... there's that.
