2014 Scion tC with updated styling priced from $19,210*

Scion has released pricing information for a number of models, the most important of which being the updated 2014 tC that debuted at the New York Auto Show in March. The cost of entry for the tweaked coupe is now $19,210 with the standard manual transmission, or $20,210 if you'd rather the car did the shift-work for you (*both prices exclude the $755 destination charge). These numbers represent an increase of $485 versus the 2013 model with either transmission.
We have yet to drive the refreshed tC, but Scion says it ought to provide a much more engaging experience from behind the wheel. Automatic-equipped models now enjoy faster shift times with dynamic rev matching, and regardless of transmission, the tC is said to have improved handling dynamics thanks to reworked shock absorbers, stabilizer bar hardware modifications and retuned electric power steering.
In addition to the obvious re-schnozzing of the tC, other updates for the 2014 model year include a new standard auto display, featuring a 6.1-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, HD radio and steering wheel-mounted controls.

Scion has been starving for new products for some time, and the entry-level brand has finally gotten two of them at the 2015 New York Auto Show. Of the duo, the iM is probably the more intriguing one because it brings a slightly retouched look for the Toyota Auris across the Atlantic from Europe. While nowhere near as aggressive as the concept from the 2014 LA Auto Show, the production iM is still a fairly attractive five-door. The front air dam features a stylish mix of gloss black and body color touches that look great, and the rear is dominated by a big set of wraparound taillights. It also wears an attractive set of standard 17-inch wheels with a layered effect for the spokes. Buyers have a single engine option, which is a 1.8-liter four-cylinder with 137 horsepower, but the mill can be linked up to either a six-speed manual or a CVT with a stepped-shifting mode. The iM should be easy on fuel bills too thanks to an estimated 37 miles per gallon highway from the most efficient version. Scion's new five-door hatch arrives at dealers this fall, and the brand expects prices to start at less than $20,000. Scion FR-S recalled for key interlock problem

The Basics: Scion will recall 26,000 examples of the 2013-2016 Scion FR-S. The Problem: Some models with the automatic transmission might not have the connection for the key interlock. On these vehicles, it would be possible for owners to remove the key, even if the gearshift isn't in Park. This condition puts the coupes out of compliance with federal rules. Injuries/Deaths: "We are not providing specifics at this time," Scion spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog. The company's announcement makes no mention of injuries or deaths. The Fix: Scion dealers will inspect the vehicles and connect the key interlock if necessary. If You Own One: Owner notification will begin in early March, according to Knight. All known owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail and instructed to return the vehicle to a Toyota dealer to have the ignition key interlock function confirmed, and if necessary, delivery mode connectors connected at no charge.
