I am sad to say it but it looks like the time has come to put my beloved 86 up for sale. It has been an amazing 2 years but with my family growing it just doesn’t make sense to have 2 rwd 2 door sports cars (my wife leased a 370z and since it’s a lease we can’t really get rid of it). I have put so much love and care into this car and it has never let me down.

What you are looking at is no ordinary Scion FRS, this is a supercharged, purpose built, sports car. My goal for this car was to build it as I thought it should have been from the factory. Every mod was handpicked to give it an OEM fit and finish while enhancing the vehicle in every aspect. This can be seen all the way from the choice in forced induction (the Innovate Supercharger’s power band screams refinement as it pins you back) all the way to the Tom’s taillights. Take note that this is not a garage warrior car. I spent a lot of time finding the best people I could to work on my vehicle. The wheels, springs, and alignment were all done by the guys at RT_Tuning (check them out, they have amazing service and do great work) and the Innovate Supercharger was installed and tuned by Mike at Moto-East. Mike is one of the leading 86 tuners in the area if not the entire east coast and has been a pleasure to work with. He runs the Innovate Supercharger on his shop car so I knew I was in good hands.

To this day I have not stopped getting compliments about my car and I still look back at it and smile every time it’s parked. I am confident that I will probably never own a better drivers car in my life time which saddens me but as they say it is better to have love and lost then never to have loved at all. I will do my best to list out every mod on the car with its purchase price to give you an understanding of what went into this build and understand the price. If you have any questions about the car or want to schedule time to look at it let me know.

Again if you have any questions post them here or shoot me a PM. I am accepting offers but am in no rush to sell this car. I highly recommend the shops I have worked with, R/T Tuning, Moto-East, and AZP Installs. If you are interested in getting any work done or would like to ask them about my car let me know and I will try and get you in touch with the right people.

Scion tC Release Series 10.0 is a limited-edition sayonara

Thu, Mar 24 2016

We wish Scion could have gone out with a bang. But nope, it's yet another of the brand's Release Series models. The long-running group of special editions has been hit-or-miss over the years, but seemed to find its grove with its most recent FR-S Release Series 1.0 and 2.0. This is not an FR-S Release Series, though. It's a tC. You know, the only model that won't survive the Scion brand's death. Maybe we're being mean. Scion has made some decent tweaks for its Release Series 10.0, including TRD-branded lowering springs and a TRD exhaust. The Ken Miura body kit is a highlight too, and while Toyota has slathered its Barcelona Red on plenty of vehicles, we think this Scion is the best application of the shade. Other aesthetic changes, like the black badges, gloss-black wheels, and red contrast stitching could have been kitschy, but they actually kind of work. Like all Release Series models, this special tC will be limited to just 1,200 units. Prices start at $23,985 for the manual transmission model or $25,135 for the auto-equipped car. We've got a round of live images of the new tC Release Series 10.0 from the New York Auto Show up top. Be sure to take a look – it's the last new Scion you'll ever see. Scion-ara Celebration at New York International Auto Show Includes JDM-inspired tC Coupe and Classic Concepts TORRANCE, Calif. (March 16, 2016) – Scion is not going away quietly. With a final Kei Miura-inspired tC Release Series 10.0, a display of some of its most impressive project cars, and cool swag, the Scion by Toyota booth is sure to be a flurry of activity at the New York International Auto Show, March 25 – April 3, 2016. It's only fitting that Scion closes its auto show history at New York since that's where it all began. Fourteen years ago Scion debuted its first concept vehicles and announced the new youth division for Toyota that would be a laboratory for experimentation and introduce new products and processes. That commitment to innovation carries through to the debut of Scion's final Release Series vehicle for the tC sports coupe, Scion's most popular car. Thanks to a partnership with Kei Miura, known for his JDM aerodynamic designs, the final edition MY16 tC Release Series 10.0 will leave quite an impression with enhanced performance, and aggressive exterior and interior features.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Toyota GT86 gets TRD treatment in UK

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

As dearly as we love the Toyota GT86 / Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ franchise, we readily admit we wouldn't look sideways at a model with a bit more firepower. And while that's not quite on the table yet, Toyota has been busy amping up the visual firepower of its rear-drive coupe with a whole host of TRD parts. To this point, that's been a largely à la carte affair, but the automaker's UK outpost has just announced a special-edition model that allows our British friends to pick up the whole shooting match all in one go.
The Toyota GT86 TRD will only be available in black and white, and just 250 examples are to be built. As you can see from the excellent gallery above, the catalog of look-faster bits include a more aggressive front air dam, side skirts, rear bumper fascia, spoiler and unique 18-inch forged alloys. Additional flourishes include a TRD shift lever and branded radiator cap. The sole concession to actual performance? A "fast-response quad exhaust" that might only improve things audibly - 0-62 mph is apparently unchanged at 7.7 seconds, and the top end is still 140 mph for the manual transmission model. (The auto gets by with 8.4 seconds and 130 mph).
Pricing? Glad you asked. £31,495 for GT 86 TRD manual, £32,995 for the automatic - that's nearly $50,000 US for the tripedalist and just over for the automatic. (Those are heady prices, but bear in mind that UK MSRPs and taxes are generally significantly higher than their US counterparts). If the standard GT86 is more your speed, it still rings up at a more affordable £24,995 - roughly $39,500 - leaving plenty of budget for actual performance parts. No word yet on North American availability of a special TRD model, but we've got a call in...
