**2013 Scion Fr-s 6-speed Manual Custom Donlyson Auto Concepts Show Car** on 2040-cars
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States
Up for auction is my 2013 Scion FR-S. This car has been completely customized and redone by donlysonautoconcepts.com in Los Angeles, California. Have never gotten so many looks and comments in my life this car is a real head turner. Was a very high dollar rebuild and I am sad to see it go but this car will just not work with the weather here in Idaho =(. Car only has 6,000 miles on it and is still just like it came from the showroom floor and does still have the factory warranty in tact though 5 years or 60,000 miles witchever comes first. Went to have the work done at 3,000 miles. All in all there is a little over $20,000 in this car and everything was done the right way. No turbo of any kind work done was mostly suspension and cosmetic except for a tune, cold air intake, exhaust, colder NGK spark plugs, and upgraded injectors. This car is truly beautiful. Highlights of the car are-
-COMPLETE CUSTOM WIDE BODY KIT WITH FLAT AND GLOSS BURNT BROWN -FULLY ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION ALL AROUND -NR G EVERYTHING INCLUDING SEATS, ROLL CAGE, SWAY AND STABILITY BARS FRONT AND REAR -DUAL SIDE PORTED EXHAUST -BRAND NEW 19" VARRSTOEN RIMS -BRAND NEW Z RATED TOYO PROXY TIRES -NR G BRAKE AWAY STEERING WHEEL -NR G 5 POINT HARNESS DRIVER AND PASSENGER -CARBON FIBER REAR SPOILER ADJUSTABLE -POWER EVERYTHING -EVERYTHING STILL LOOKS AS NEW -BLUETOOTH INTERFACE -UPGRADED EXHAUST, INTAKE, INJECTORS, IGNITION, PLUGS, AND TUNE Car is in pristine condition with not a thing in the world wrong but is being sold as is and is still covered fully under Scions factory warranty. $500 non refundable deposit will be due within 24 hours of auction end. Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Scion FR-S [w/video]
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Toyota has been hosting its Pro/Celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix on Long Beach since 1977. The charity event, which has raised millions of dollars over the years, traditionally pits Hollywood celebrities against professional athletes (including race car drivers) on the full Grand Prix course in modified street vehicles. The short, sprint-style race is popular with the crowds as the amateur drivers race uninhibited - the result is an action-packed race with plenty of excitement and automotive... er... carnage.
Over the decades, the drivers have raced a variety of Toyota products including last year's front-wheel-drive Scion tC. But this year, Toyota announced at the Chicago Auto Show that the new rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S would be stepping up to the plate. The good news only became better when Toyota Motorsports invited us out to Southern California's Willow Springs Raceway (the same circuit where the drivers train and practice) to be one of the first behind the wheel.
Driving Notes:
Scion C-HR Concept looks sharp at LA Auto Show
Wed, Nov 18 2015The Scion C-HR concept was shown off as a Toyota concept last year at the Paris Motor Show, and we've been told it will show up at next year's Geneva Motor Show in production form. In the transition from a Toyota to a US-focused Scion, though, it's been saddled with a regrettable piece of marketing-speak: the press release says the C-HR concept was designed for "yuccies." That's an acronym describing 'young, urban creatives,' and it should go away. The C-HR is at the LA Auto Show, however, a visually fascinating concept that we're looking forward to seeing in production form; it could be good, or it could be meh. The C-HR stands for "Compact size and High Ride height," partly an effect of 21-inch wheels, and Scion says it will combine "supreme functionality" and "sporty performance" under that "polarizing" skin. We don't know much more than that about it now, save that its purpose is to be "a fantastic urban driving car." The press release below has lots of adjectives to help you imagine what that means; apparently, if you like cutting boards with grid lines and "earthy, modern terrariums," this will be for you. Related Video: Scion's Next Icon: World Debut of C-HR Concept Car at Los Angeles Auto Show TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 18, 2015 – When the designers for the Scion C-HR concept began their research, they were told by young urban creative customers, "Polarizing is ok. Boring is not." That sentiment was evident today as the Scion C-HR concept had its World Debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. With an iconic design that also incorporates functionality and sporty performance, the Scion C-HR concept is much like Scion's customer in that it strives to stand out from the crowd. "Scion is known for doing things differently, and maybe even being a little weird," said Scion Vice President Andrew Gilleland. "This C-HR concept embraces that idea and wears it like a badge of honor. We couldn't be more excited to add the production version to our line-up." The C-HR concept is named for its Compact size and High Ride height. With five doors and a hatch for supreme functionality, it's the perfect vehicle for "yuccies," the young urban creatives who inspired the design. These customers put an emphasis on great design and wanted something distinctive, sophisticated, passionate and clean. They viewed most SUVs as too boring and wanted something for their urban lifestyle that sparked emotion.
Toyota FT-86 Open Concept leaves us feeling flushed
Wed, 20 Nov 2013When last we checked in on our topless would-be hero, the Toyota FT-86 convertible had been reportedly placed on "indefinite hold." That was back in early October, not long after Toyota had trotted out the rear-wheel-drive canvasback to Scion dealers as a possible future product carrot if they decided not to turn in their franchises. And yet, we're here at the Tokyo Motor Show, where Toyota has taken the time to at least repaint the FT-86 Open Concept in "Flash Red," if not build a whole other car (the original Geneva showcar was white). It's enough to make our heads spin like a teenager on the verge of a breakup. Will they? Won't they?
At this point, we still don't know any more than you do - the last word we heard out of Toyota was not encouraging, although the story was that the program could still be fast-tracked if management had a change of heart. As the car has never been seen before in Japan, perhaps Toyota is merely extending its domestic audience a courtesy view before it lines this showcar in mothballs, or maybe they're still trying to make a decision on its fate and gauging public reaction on the homefront.
Interestingly, in a new story published today, Automotive News quotes Subaru brand boss Yasuyuki Yoshinaga downplaying the likelihood of a production model, saying flatly "We make the car, so if we don't make it, it can't happen." The executive went on to note, "Our engineering department told me that losing the entire roof requires a complete redesign of the structure. It would need a big change." Given that such a car would probably trade in rather small volumes, that sounds like a significant hurtle.
