Selling a 2007 Saturn Outlook XR Loaded. Front wheel drive. Has 75,882 miles. Seats 8, leather, heated front seats. DVD, CD player. Equipped with radio able to have XM radio subscription. OnStar equipped. Cruise control and radio controls on steering wheel. Factory remote car starter, back up sensors, tire pressure sensors, outside temperature display. Heated windshield fluid, heated outside mirrors, turn signal lights in side mirrors, fog lights. Directional compass in mirror, electronic self dimming rear view mirror. Power windows, power locks, and keyless entry. Power lift gate. Multiple aux power outlets, along with regular electrical outlet. Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

When the deal to sell Saturn to Penske Automotive fell through, there were likely a lot of surprised people at General Motors' Detroit, MI headquarters. Penske released a statement saying that the reason the deal fell through after months of good faith negotiations was that a suitable post-GM supply of vehicles could not be found. However, after reacquainting ourselves with over eight minutes of outtakes from Jim Gaffigan's old Saturn commercial, we're thinking the comedic pitchman is to blame.
