For Auction is my 1995 Saab 9000 Aero
I am the third owner of this car and have enjoyed driving it for the past 50,000 miles. I have taken good care of the car and it has been very reliable transportation that is also fun to drive. It has a huge trunk space with the hatchback design and is a very functional vehicle that has lots of power and handles like a tight sports car. In 1995 this was the most powerful saab built and generates about 250 hp. I am reluctantly selling this car due to a lack of space in my driveway and I want to buy a pickup truck as I have recently purchased a newer sedan and just don't need two sedans. There are not many of these out there for sale that are in this condition and when you clean and detail the car it still looks pretty great as you can see in the photos. Heat and AC work, climate control unit is working as it should. (AC will need to be charged). Interior is in very good condition, no rips or tears in the seats. Carpeting is showing some wear in the drivers foot well but no holes and the car has always had floor mats so the carpet is in very good condition. The Harmon Cardon sound system works as it should and has a working CD player. This car cost $40,000 in 1995 and was the top of the line Saab there were only 200 imported with an automatic transmission that year so it is an unusual vehicle on the road, people are amazed at the condition of the car when I tell them how old it is. I would drive this car anywhere as it sits right now, if you have any questions or want to see more photos let me know and I will give you a link to access.
Here are the some of the newer parts that have been installed on the car:
Ignition Cassette, alternator, water pump, 4 new rotors, brake pads, belt tension-er, radiator, thermostat, all heater and radiator hoses, new head gasket, bulb control relay, head lights, front bumper, new exhaust system from the catalytic converter back to the exhaust tip.
This is not a new car and there are a few things that need some attention:
The fenders are just starting showing some rust bubbles, there is a small dent on the drivers fender, and some other nicks chips and dings, but all small stuff. The passenger rear door will not lock and the auto locks don't work on all of the doors. The drivers window works but doesn't go down all the way. (last2") There is a crack in the dash board that is a bummer, but could be replaced with a used one or an after market part for around $100.
Great car for a Saab enthusiast or summer kid car as well. I have sold several cars on Ebay and have very good feed back, if you want more information about the car let me know and I will get back to you ASAP.
Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding,
I accept paypal, a $500 deposit (non refundable) is paid at the end of the auction and all payment is expected in full within 72 hours of the end of auction. If you want to have the car shipped to you all arrangements will be made by the buyer and I will work with you and your transporter to make for a smooth transfer of the vehicle.

Why won't automakers slap on a turbo badge anymore?
Thu, Sep 10 2015Where have all the turbos gone? Not the actual pieces that go in the engine, mind you, those are everywhere these days as automakers downsize cylinder counts and boost efficiency and CO2 claims. But the turbo badges and fanfare are missing. Back when turbos were something to get excited about there was "turbo-driven," "turbonium," and "The Turbo Zone," among other silly lines. But now that basically every car is getting some sort of boost even on the lowliest trims, automakers are almost sliding in the turbos under the radar. Or if you look at some of the nomenclature, pretending they don't exist at all. The 911 Turbo badge shows where the car goes from being sane to lunatic. It's an important border. The latest automaker to hide that it has boosted the turbo presence is Porsche with the 2017 911 lineup. Even the standard Carrera models now get turbocharged flat-six engines, meaning the 911 Turbo models aren't quite as special as they once were. Porsche is in a sticky situation with this. The 911 Turbo, after all, signifies where the 911 family takes off from being a sports car and becomes the Ferrari fighter. The 911 Turbo badge shows where the car goes from being sane to lunatic. It's an important border, but now Porsche has crossed it and is trying to downplay the fact. There are a lot of exaggerations with displacement badges today, with claims the 2.0-liter turbo four in a Mercedes C Class equates to a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter six to make a C300. Volvo is pretty far up there, too, saying an XC90 T8 means V8 power, even though it's a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four with electric assist. I don't know why BMW can't just call the car a 330i Turbo, rather than inflating the numbers up to 340i. Saab tried all of this back in the '90s when it decided to turbocharge its entire lineup, from light pressure units all the way up to models actually called "Saab 9-3 HOT" (for high-output turbo). But then the brand deleted any external reference to the turbo under the hood and people wondered why they were buying a $42,000 four-cylinder convertible. And that didn't turn out well. Even though these turbo replacements often make more power than their naturally aspirated predecessors, they're very different engines. People knew something changed when they exchanged their leased 328i with a 3.0-liter six for a 328i with a 2.0-liter turbo four.
Saab begins 9-3 EV pilot production
Thu, 10 Apr 2014To say that Saab has had a tough time lately would be like saying that it's been a little colder than usual this winter. After General Motors finally gave up and sold it to Spyker in 2010, Saab declared bankruptcy the following year. GM successfully blocked Spyker from selling Saab to Chinese automaker Youngman the following year, but ultimately it ended up in the hands of another Chinese consortium called NEVS. Standing as it does for National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owners promised not only to restart production of the long-suffering 9-3, but also to turn it into an electric vehicle. And that's just what it's doing.
The latest news coming out of Sweden indicates that NEVS/Saab has started building the first examples of the 9-3 EV. These first 200 or so examples are set to be shipped off to Qingdao - the Chinese city that is home to the Tsingtao brewery, hosted the sailing components of the 2008 summer games on Beijing, was supposed to host an IndyCar race in 2012 before it was canceled, and also itself just happens to own 22 percent of NEVS.
These first EVs have their batteries mounted down low in the chassis for a low center of gravity and have a range of about 20 miles on a full charge. That's absolutely paltry compared to the other EVs on the market: a Nissan Leaf will travel more than four times that distance, and a Tesla Model S will go ten times farther on a charge.
Greetings from Trollhattan. I'm Emily, but I'm not a Saab.
Sat, Apr 29 2023What’s Swedish for “never give up”? Saab, apparently. The fondly-remembered car company formerly called just that — and now named NEVS — is only a shell, employing just a limited crew in the land of trolls. But itÂ’s got something to sell, and that something seems like it's really something. ItÂ’s called Emily. The Emily GT exists as six prototype electric cars, according to NEVS, with a combined horsepower rating (per car) of 484 powered by an enormous 175-kilowatt lithium-ion battery thatÂ’s good for 600 miles of range. In development almost since Saab's demise — the company, once owned by General Motors, was closed down in 2010 — the Emily is a very real product and needs a real sponsor, according to NEVS CEO Nina Selander, speaking to Carup. “It is for sale, it is also a joy to be able to show it. It should be allowed to live on, itÂ’s too nice, too good and too modern a car for nothing to come of it. Interested parties are welcome,” she said. Photos of the car show a modern, forward-thrust profile with handsome lines, a look similar to the last Saab 9-5 and VolvoÂ’s S60 (must be a Swedish thing) and a fashionable, sci-fi-ish interior. A hopeful engineer on the project estimates that the car is less than two years away from some kind of series production, but according to the modest NEVS website, the company is currently in “hibernation” even as it continues to solicit buyers for the Emilys. Said Peter Dahl, the Emily project manager, “Many have asked us what we have been doing for 10 years. We have developed 13 different car projects, this is one of them.” Related video: Volvo Saab Automotive History Electric Future Vehicles Classics
