One owner, garage kept in climate controlled Manhattan garage since new, and only 31700 original mileage. Fanatically maintained annually at Saab Dealership according to all factory recommendations based on time as opposed to miles and service records, bill of sale, window sticker, owners manual, etc... included in sale.

The owner was devoted to the marque and previously owned a 99EMS and a 96. This car, as his previous Saabs, has been well cared for and is as perfect an example as you will find. I obtained the car from my friend two months ago and titled it in my name to sell it and I have only driven it a couple hundred miles. My friend was paying $450/month for parking plus insurance and rarely used it so we made a trade for something of mine that he wanted and my task was to get it up to my country home and sell it.

Everything works as new, the finish is like new, and the leather is like new. The entire spare tire/rim were replaced six months ago because my friend read that the spacesaver spare was only useable for twenty years. It has four new tires as well. The Interstate battery was purchased last year and it was just serviced, passed NY State inspection, etc...

The only issues are: multiple door dings on all four doors from the garage attendants, one small quarter sized ding on the hood, (all easily removed by a paintless dent repair technician), small touch up at front of hood (pictured), the right front spoiler lip is gapped about a half inch on the edge (torn plastic about two inches) and the CD player works but is not crisp from one channel and should be replaced if you want to use it regularly. The front bumper chrome strip is missing and there are some minor bumper scuffs as well (pictured).

THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION - Bid to Buy!

On Feb-07-13 at 11:12:31 PST, seller added the following information:

The right front bumper is not torn but it is the top edge of the spoiler. Some scrapes on both front and rear bumpers from garage.

Saab 900 SPG is the latest Petrolicious love story

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

The latest video from the crew at Petrolicious covers one funky Swede - a 1989 Saab 900 SPG. Produced from 1978 to 1998, the 900 enjoyed a long history, and thanks to its iconic look, it's quickly becoming a modern classic for the off-kilter car enthusiast. The SPG, short for Special Performance Group, makes this a particularly rare find, with owner Jordan Melville saying, "I didn't even realize what I had at the time."
Melville gives a rundown of his life with the 900 and his passion for Saab overall, even reflecting on that dark day that saw the Swedish brand closed its doors. As always, the videography is excellent and the story is intriguing in this latest video from Petrolicious. You can view the entire video down below.

3 former Saab execs charged with tax evasion

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Associated Press reports three former Saab executives have been arrested on charges of accounting fraud. Swedish prosecutor Olof Sahlgren has refused to identify the individuals, but says they're suspected of attempting to evade taxes by falsifying Saab accounts between 2010 and 2011 during the Spyker years. Other reports indicate the parties involved include former General Counsel to Saab Kristina Geers (seen to the left of former CEO Victor Muller, above), a 15-year-veteran of the company - her husband, Eric, was the company's communications director for 9 years as well.
Saab filed for bankruptcy in 2011, and was purchased shortly thereafter by National Electric Vehicle Sweden. If convicted, the trio could face up to four years in prison for their crimes under Swedish law.

Vampire Weekend burns for Saab

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

Or is it the other way around?
Could Vampire Weekend be trying to tell me something? A just-launched music video for the indie rock band's new single Diane Young features what looks like a pretty mint black Saab 900 Turbo Convertible being torched in slow-motion. In fact, with the exception of a brief, flickering cameo by a 900 three-door of a similar vintage, that's all that there is to the nearly three-minute long video. It's both sad and oddly beautiful.
Coincidentally, I have a similar-looking turbocharged black Saab convertible sitting in my garage, and I've been reluctantly pondering its sale this very week. Admittedly, mine is a later model (2001 9-3 Viggen), but tri-spokes and more tapered rump aside, it looks eerily identical. And while mine isn't mired in flames (I love it too much to torch it), through no fault of its own, it's been sitting motionless far too regularly. Thankfully, I see a better future for it than the droptop seen above.
