Scarabe Green with taupe leather interior. Brand new tires.

Several recent trips to Sacramento with no problems and 27 mpg.

Fast and Smooth. More powerful than our previous '97 900 with the 4 cylinder turbo but without the issues of a turbo. And I never want another automatic trans in one of these cars. That whole 'limp home mode' thing is not for me.

This is the only low-mileage Saab Convertible V6 with a manual trans for sale in California under $5000 at the present time.

New catalytic converter. New oxygen sensors. New exhaust flex pipe. A/C needs charged. Cruise control, power door locks, power windows, power seats, seat heaters all working. 123Kmi. Top works manually.

Traction Control light comes on; that's for people who live in the snow. ABS light comes on but it may have been disabled by a previous owner. Anti-lock brakes were controversial in the 90's and this car stops on a dime.

Extremely slow coolant drip from the radiator or somewhere near it. Never overheated because the dash display tells you to top it off when the coolant level in the bottle drops an 1/8 of an inch below the line. Fussy cold-starting.

The back window has come loose from the top which can be re-attached, but... the car comes with a complete newer top and tonneau cover in excellent condition. Also comes with newer motors and brain for the top. Driver's side seat bolster is worn as shown in pics. Minor scratches and dings from use.

Car cover and other misc parts and accessories included.

Just over 500 miles on new tires.

Sold as is.

U.S. Shipping only.

Saab to hire 200 engineers, might build gas cars with Mahindra

Thu, 14 Jun 2012

The brand formerly known as Saab is still intent on teaching The Little Engine That Could a few ticks about persistence. We say "formerly known" because it turns out that National Electric Vehicle Swedent (NEVS), the Sino-Japanese investment consortium that just bought the majority of Saab's assets, minus Saab Automobile Parts AB, may not actually own the rights to the Saab brand name. According to a report in Di.se via Saabs United, NEVS will need to negotiate with Scania and the Swedish aerospace and defense group, Saab AB, for the right to name its forthcoming electric car the Saab 9-3.
NEVS is hiring 200 engineers now to work on its electric car program, and reports are that it will hire more as it gets closer to the 2014 launch. It will be based on the current (read: ancient) 9-3, and we hope NEVS is succeeds in getting the naming rights, because the NEVS 9-3 just doesn't have the same ring. NEVS will likely target China as the model's main market.
However, it's rumors of their second negotiating ploy that we're really rooting for: to work with Mahinda & Mahindra, the Indian company once in the running for Saab's assets, develop a petrol-powered 9-3 on the next-generation Phoenix platform, based on Jason Castriota's design.

Victor Muller to pay Sweden back taxes for Saab work

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

Victor Muller, Saab's CEO from 2010 to 2011, has been ordered by the Swedish court to pay the back taxes he owes the country for his work at Saab, Autoweek and Volkskrant report. When he was the automaker's CEO he received a salary of about 8 million Swedish Krona ($1.25 million), which was recorded as a reward for consultancy work for a company in the US that Muller owns. The move allowed him to evade taxes for awhile, but the court has ordered him to pay taxes on his full salary.
Muller, who is also CEO of Spyker, and two other Saab executives were accused of accounting fraud in May, which took place in 2010 and 2011. According to reports, Muller maintains that he is not subject to taxes in Sweden.

Man in a convertible drives in the rain with a Christmas tree

Mon, Dec 7 2015

A man in a convertible had his holiday cheer extinguished thanks to England's infamous weather. Nicholas Dodd saw this sad, soaked through couple while driving down the A38 near Plymouth, Devon, according to the Daily Mirror. Dodd told the publication he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a Saab, top down, in a pouring rain storm. That's not all. The top was down because of the large Christmas tree wedged in the back seat. "We couldn't believe what we were seeing," Dodd said. "It was crazy - especially with the weather - but I guess he just wanted to get his Christmas tree home anyway he could." The Saab driver's female passenger also looks less than pleased by the sudden squall. "His missus was beside him but they didn't seem to find it as funny as we did," Dodd said. "He was just keeping his head down in a vain attempt to avoid the rain but was getting a real soaking." Dodd posted the video to Facebook, where commenters also had a good laugh at the soaking wet Saab owners. Weird Car News Saab Videos christmas rain
