Up for Auction is an absolutely gorgeous 1988 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible. I am the 2nd owner of this car, and I have only owned it for 3 months. The original owner owned the car until I bought it from a car dealer. The full vehicle history report goes with the car, and it is perfect. No accidents, no liens, no blemishes. This car is fantastic. It was my lifelong dream car, and I bought it in the hope of keeping it for weekend driving. What I've discovered is that the car is too pristine for me to drive. It really should go to a collector or investor. This car is only going to appreciate in value. I currently have the car registered as an antique in PA.
It is clearly evident from the condition that the car was always garaged. It is loaded with all of the options that were available in 1988. Everything works as it should. I have all the original books and manuals even the Radio code card. The car is immaculate. It was always Garaged and it shows! It runs and drives as you would expect a 49,000 mile car to run...like it is brand new! The top goes up and down effortlessly. All the windows and electrical items work fine. It is all Original. The tires are in great shape with lots of tread remaining. The original radio works as well as the factory equalizer. Even the Power Antenna Works! The leather seats are in great shape for the age of the car with very little wear on them. It is truly a pleasure to drive. I honestly wish it wasn't in such great shape, so I wouldn't feel guilty driving it.
Being a 25 year old car it is not perfect. It does have a few little things that could be fixed. The glove box door has a applique on it that is starting to peel on the edge. The material on the drivers door panel insert has become unglued in places in is a bit loose. The windshield has a tiny crack (less than 1 inch ) from a rock hitting it. The front cover on the ashtray has come off. The top which I believe to be original has three little wear holes from going up and down. It is not ripped and is still in good condition but has these spots that are worn. ( See Pictures for all these issues). The speakers for the radio crackle a bit sometimes but the radio plays and sounds fine. There are a few small door dings and maybe some very small scratches that are not really noticeable. These is a small piece of molding on the left side front bumper extension that is missing. Thats about it. It is truly a time capsule in excellent condition! It even still has the Factory Bosch Fog lights under the front bumper!!
If you are in the Lancaster, PA area and would like to see and drive this Beautiful Saab Convertible feel free to call me at 717-903-4142. I will assist in Shipping or Pickup arrangements anyway I can. A $500.00 dollar deposit Via paypal is due within 24 hours of the auction end.
Please understand that this is an "as is, where is" sale, and no warranty is stated or implied in anyway. That said, I personally would have all the confidence in the world getting in the car and driving across the country!

Dealership refunds student for broken Saab with bags of pennies
Fri, Jul 25 2014Every so often, we come across the story of someone trying to "stick it to the man" by paying a parking fine or speeding ticket in pennies or dimes. Never, though, have we heard of a business stooping to such cliched lengths. Enter Florida. Irena Mujakovic bought a 2003 Saab way back in January from Holiday Motors, in Jacksonville, FL. Shortly after the purchase, the transmission started acting up. She returned to the dealer and paid for the repair, and purchased a warranty for future issues. Total cost: $300. But then the trans crapped out not long after the initial repair, and Mujakovic was back at Holiday Motors. This is where things start going south. This second trip cost Mujakovic $400, with her warranty in hand. That's because the man that runs the dealer, Ed Di Miranda, neglected to mention that the warranty didn't cover labor costs. "The warranty did not cover labor and I failed to write that in and that was her loophole," Di Miranda told First Coast News. The young college student filed a complaint with the Florida DMV, who sided with her and ordered Holiday Motors to refund the money. Di Miranda and the dealership did just that, but when Mujakovic came to collect her refund, it was to a bag of pennies, with a few dollar bills sprinkled in for good measure. Di Miranda, doesn't seem to think he's done anything wrong, claiming that only about $85 was in change, while the rest was paper money. "I am doing what DMV asked me to do," Di Miranda said. "It is legal tender." Mujakovic has not collected her refund. Have a look below for the video news report. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. NEVS announces 200 layoffs as it says Saab restart will 'take time'
Fri, 26 Sep 2014For a fleeting moment a few weeks ago, the news from Saab-owner National Electric Vehicle Sweden appeared almost positive. The company had its reorganization plan approved (a day after it was denied), and the automaker was actually showing a real, running vehicle, albeit one with a top speed of 75 miles per hour. But those tiny crumbs of potential goodness have been swept away because NEVS has announced layoffs of as many as 200 factory employees in September "due to lack of work."
Workers probably shouldn't get too eager to return to the factory either, because company's "decision to re-start production will be further delayed" by an unspecified amount of time, NEVS says in a press release. To begin assembling cars again, the company needs to find long-term funding and a new majority owner. Those seem like two very steep hurdles for the embattled automaker to clear.
Despite not producing cars since May, NEVS still claims it's negotiating with a new owner, possibly Mahindra, but according to Reuters, the Swedish company owes about 400 million kronor ($56 million) to creditors. According to its layoff announcement, getting rid of these workers is one step in the business' reorganization plan to be presented on October 8. Scroll down to read its full release.
What car brand should come back?
Fri, Apr 7 2017Congratulations, wishful thinker! You've been granted one wish by the automotive genie or wizard or leprechaun or whoever has been gifted with that magical ability. You get to pick one expired, retired or fired automotive brand and resurrect it from its heavenly peace! But which one? That's a tough decision and not one to be made lightly. As we know from car history, the landscape is littered with failed brands that just didn't have what it took to cut it in the dog-eat-dog world of vehicle design, engineering and marketing. So many to choose from! Because I am not a car historian, I'll leave it to a real expert to present a complete list of history's automotive misses from which you can choose, if you're a stickler about that sort of thing. And since I'm most familiar with post-World War II cars and brands, that's what I'm going to stick to (although Maxwell, Cord and some others could make strong arguments). So, with the parameters established, let's get started, shall we? Hudson: I admit, I really don't know a lot about Hudson, except that stock car drivers apparently did pretty well with them back in the day, and Paul Newman played one in the first Cars movie. But really, isn't that enough to warrant consideration? Frankly, I think the Paul Newman connection is reason enough. What other actor who drove race cars was cooler? James Dean? Steve McQueen? James Garner? Paul Walker? But, I digress. That's a story for another day. Plymouth: As the scion of a Dodge family (my grandfather had a Dodge truck, and my mom had not one, but two Dodge Darts – the rear-wheel-drive ones with slant sixes in them, not the other one they don't make any more), I tend to think of Plymouth as the "poor man's Dodge." But then you have to consider the many Hemi-powered muscle cars sold under the Plymouth brand, such as the Road Runner, the GTX, the Barracuda, and so on. Was there a more affordable muscle car than Plymouth? When you place it in the context of "affordable muscle," Plymouth makes a pretty strong argument for reanimation. Oldsmobile: When I was a teenager, all the cool kids had Oldsmobile Cutlasses, the downsized ones that came out in 1978. At one point, the Olds Cutlass was the hottest selling car in the land, if you can believe that. Then everybody started buying Honda Civics and Accords and Toyota Corollas and Camrys, and you know the rest. But going back farther, there's the 442 – perhaps Olds' finest hour when it came to muscle cars.
