I have used the Kelly Blue Book to price the vehicle. Private Party Value: Excellent ,$7,189, Very Good $6,864, Good $6,664, Fair $5,814 Based off of the definitions provided by Kelly Blue Book, I believe the car fits in the "very good" category; however, I am pricing the car in the good category in the hopes that an interested buyer and I can proceed in a stress free manner, with complete transparency. Taxes and State specific fees are the responsibility of the buyer (title, registration, etc..) Unlike a dealer, I am not going to hit you with a BS admin or delivery fee. All scheduled maintenance, All records, No accidents, Non-smoker, One owner, Well maintained... The car "under the hood" is in great to excellent condition. I have all records, and a summary of all maintenance records from Sweedish Imports is available upon request. I am going to personally detail the inside of the vehicle and wash the car on the day of a potential purchase. See included pictures. The front of the car picture shows a few superficial scratches on the front bumper, consistent with a 90K car. Front headlights have moderate oxidation (clouding). The Saab emblem on front and back hood, as in picture, are completely metal now (The Saab emblem was originally painted, see front picture) Picture of inside of car shows a small dent in driver panel at top. Other than these superficial body/interior issues, the car would qualify for the Kelly Blue book definition of "Excellent;" however, because of these I consider the car to be in the "very good" category. Extra Options on car: OnStar (withOUT current subscription), Two tone leather seats, rear back up help (beeps when you are close to something), radar/laser detector with power cord integrated into car (i.e. not plugged into the cigarette lighter) Approx. halfway through the life of the tires. Saab 9-3 production has restarted
Sun, 01 Dec 2013If you're one of the small cadre of Saab drivers, first of all, kudos to you. Because as Top Gear pointed out, Saab drivers are among the most intellectual drivers out there. Secondly, we've got good news for you, because the 9-3 has officially resumed production at the Trollhättan plant in Sweden.
For those of you who may not have followed the story, a quick refresher: Founded in 1947, Saab Automobile AB was an independent automaker until 1989 when General Motors began the decade-long process acquiring it. Unable to make it profitable, GM sold Saab to Spyker in 2010, but that Dutch automaker proved unable to make a go of it, either, and finally shut it down a year later. Much of Saab's assets were acquired by National Electric Vehicle Sweden, which in turn is partially owned by the Chinese city of Qingdao, which pledged to get production back online by the end of the year.
NEVS has apparently made good on its promise, bringing 600 workers back to the factory to resume production of the 9-3 much as it was when a workforce of 3,500 labored on it and its stablemates prior to the bankruptcy. The reborn 9-3 will be sold in Sweden and in China, with an electric version to bring some other updates sometime next year.
GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect
Fri, 13 Jun 2014General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.
GM wins appeal, dismissal of $3B Saab-related Spyker suit
Sun, Oct 26 2014It's been a long time since we last heard of the legal battles between Spyker CEO Victor Muller and General Motors, the automaker from which Muller's company purchased the embattled Saab brand back in 2010. To refresh your memories, after struggling through 2011 and entering into bankruptcy, Spyker attempted to save the Saab brand by selling it to a Chinese consortium. General Motors, though, blocked the sale because it did not want any of its intellectual property, of which Saab was in possession of from its days under the GM umbrella, in the hands of a potential rival automaker. Spyker then sued GM for intentionally blocking what it said was Saab's only chance of survival. The $3-billion suit was dismissed after a judge ruled in favor of GM, which apparently had granted a license to Saab to continue building cars using its technologies, but reserved the right to cancel that agreement if Saab again changed hands. Spyker appealed, and, according to Reuters, the appeals court upheld the previous ruling, again siding with GM. National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the company that eventually purchased Saab out of bankruptcy, managed to restart production for a short period before itself falling into financial trouble. We have at least another month to wait before hearing how Saab's next chapter may read.
