Aero With Saab Secure 3-year Premier Warranty, Fully Serviced, Wonderful Driver on 2040-cars
New York, New York, United States
This listing is for a very rare 2010 Saab 9-5 Aero XWD finished in Diamond Silver Metallic over Black drilled leather WITH A WARRANTY from Saab Secure! I purchased this car last year after a very long search to find the right one...I waited forever to find the right Aero with low miles and all the options just like the North American press car. I am a very enthusiastic car enthusiast and love the unique styling of the NG 9-5 Aero....and the fact that you never pass yourself on the road. A very unique and beautiful car! I tracked this example down and purchased it along with a 3-year Saab Secure Premier transferable warranty.
I am offering it on the market because I just moved to Manhattan...the city where you don't really need a car to get around town. I care too much about the Aero to let it sit in a garage collecting dust for months at a time (it's a bit expensive to store cars here too), hence the eBay listing...my loss, your gain and hopefully to a loving home. This Aero just had it's full service at an authorized Saab dealer and all recommended items replaced and/or upgraded. A full-synthetic oil change, upgraded K&N air filter installed, full alignment, and transmission service were just completed. It drives flawlessly and the XWD system is AMAZING in the snow and grippy on a curvy back road...a very powerful performer! The car also comes with both Smart Keys with new batteries installed and is currently wearing newish Michelin Pilot Super Sports for Spring. I stress the importance of the Saab Secure Warranty with these cars, they do not make them any longer and most examples on the market (if any) do not come with a Saab Secure Warranty. This example currently has the aforementioned 3-year transferable Saab Secure Premier Warranty. It really gives me peace of mind while driving which you will not find with other available examples. This is a very well looked-after machine and I am the second owner. You can view the Saab Secure Premier Care Warranty by Google searching and clicking on the "Saab Secure" website and viewing the "Extended Coverage Information" option on the right. Saab Secure covers everything leading up to/as well as the Premier Care section, it is the best available. Options/features on this example include:
The car has a clean KY title (where I moved from) and is currently located in New York, NY. I am more than happy to show the car, just eBay message me to schedule a viewing time. I am more than happy to answer any questions or send additional photos, video, or information, please message me or call me on my cell (281)797-8021. If I do not answer, please leave a detailed voice mail. This car is sold as-is, where-is, with no guarantees. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE for anything that happens with the car after I hand it over to you. Period. It is your responsibility to view the car, drive the car, ask any questions, or request any information BEFORE YOU BID. By bidding on this car you are agreeing to buy this car. If you win this auction for higher than the reserve price, by bidding, you have agreed to purchase the car. Make sure this is the car that you want before you bid. If you have any question about whether or not you need more information or are not sure about ANYTHING on this car, do not bid. Again, it is your responsibility and due diligence to inspect the car, ask any questions, or request any information BEFORE YOU BID. By bidding, you agree that all questions have been asked and you are certain of the condition of this car. By bidding, you agree that you are happy with the condition of this car and agree that you have asked any and all questions and received all information needed for you to happily purchase this vehicle. I have been burned by idiots on eBay in the past and have zero tolerance. I am more than happy to provide you with as much as I can during the active auction and before the auction ends. The Saab Secure Premier Care Warranty is what I purchased when I bought the car late last year. I am not personally offering ANY warranty, rather, the Vehicle's warranty can be transferred to you by Saab Secure. Again, I am not responsible and am offering absolutely no warranty or liability for anything myself. The vehicle currently has a Saab Secure warranty and it can be transferred to a new owner by Saab Secure, not me. I am more than happy to provide any interested buyer with a copy or image of the Saab Secure warranty document provided to me when I purchased it last year. There is a phone number that you can call to ask how to transfer a warranty from them. Thanks again and please feel free to call or message me with any questions, information requests, photo requests, video requests, or to set up a viewing appointment. This should all be done before you bid. |

Saab didn't want this electric, 99-like delivery van from the 1970s
Mon, Mar 30 2020National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) purchased the remains of Saab in 2012 to turn it into an electric-only brand. While its vast heritage is turbocharged and rooted in racing, Saab didn't shy away from dabbling in battery-powered drivetrains, and there's an experimental mail delivery van in its official museum to prove it. The name Saab in the last paragraph should be followed by an asterisk. The prototype kind of looks like a 99 when viewed from the front, and it wears the soccer ball-style alloy wheels seen on several of the brand's models during the 1970s, but the museum's curator told Autoblog it was built in Linkoping, Sweden, by the company's defense and plane-making division. It's certainly a Saab, but not quite the kind you're likely thinking of. Engineers began the project in the early 1970s, at about the same time archrival Volvo launched its own experiments in the field of electrification. The idea was to create an electric, short-range distribution van that could be used by Sweden's postal service, for example. Two prototypes were built in 1975 and 1976, including the example in the museum, and each had a low-speed driving range of about 40 miles. Additional technical specifications are lost to history, partly because Saab's car-building division in Trollhattan -- the folks that developed the 99 and the 900, among others -- didn't like the van at all and wanted nothing to do with it. Saab electric van prototype View 2 Photos We peeked inside and under it and spotted a bulky, lead-acid battery pack integrated into a tray that could be pulled out from the back after flipping up the panel onto which part of the rear bumper was mounted. This layout was relatively common in early electric prototypes, like the Bus that Volkswagen developed in 1972 and tested in select German cities. Recharging the battery pack took hours, so swapping it out was considered the more practical alternative. Period documents and images confirm the electronics were mounted under the hood. Saab made two electric prototypes, including one it fitted with front-end parts like headlights (complete with wipers), turn signals, and a plastic grille from a 99. The second wore round headlights, bullet-shaped turn signals, and looked more like something you'd see in an episode of "Scooby Doo" than what you'd find in a Saab showroom. The van's resemblance to the 99 was purely artificial; it was its own thing, on its own chassis.
There will be five new SAAB EVs, starting in 2017
Thu, Dec 17 2015National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), which bought Swedish automaker Saab out of bankruptcy in 2012, has finally solidified some of its vehicle-making plans. And given the prominence of the word "electric" in the company's name, NEVs is staying true to its vision, announcing that it will have five electric vehicle models for sale by 2018. The company recently made the announcement in Stockholm, according to Saab Blog. The first EV will be based on the Saab 9-3 platform and may be available in China and Sweden by 2017. The following year, NEVS is planning to debut four more all-electric models, including a sports car, SUV, crossover, and a fastback. The cars will be assembled in Tianjin, China. Whether the Saab badge will actually be used remains in question, as NEVS is no longer affiliated with the Saab AB aerospace company. Making things even potentially murkier is the fact that NEVS said this fall that it would sell the intellectual property rights for the 9-3 to the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), which would make the model the official Turkish National Car. Then again, nothing's been simple for Saab, which has passed through General Motors and Spyker and has had multiple reorganizations. Either way, the plan follows up a summer announcement that NEVS would work with China-based automaker Dongfeng Motor Corp. to develop electrified vehicles. Dongfeng has worked with electric-vehicle leaders Nissan and Renault as well as Honda, Kia and Peugeot. The company made more than 3.8 million vehicles in 2014.
GM re-recalls 11k SUVs
Tue, Oct 13 2015General Motors is recalling a bunch of previously recalled SUVs because, well, they still aren't quite fixed. The latest repairs are necessary on 10,974 SUVs in North America, including 9,932 in only the US. Affected models include the 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and GMC Envoy; plus the 2006 Trailblazer EXT and Envoy XL. While not listed by NHTSA, a statement by GM to Autoblog says the 2006-2007 Saab 9-7X and Isuzu Ascender are also affected. In these SUVs, it's possible that liquid could get into the driver's door master power window switch module and cause a short circuit. This could potentially lead to a fire, and owners are urged to park the vehicles outside until repaired. GM has been trying to fix this issue for years. It started as an investigation into fires, and that led to a recall for about 250,000 vehicles in cold-weather states. A nationwide campaign came in 2013 for 193,000 of them in the US. Last year, the automaker decided to replace the whole module as a repair. However in a recent investigation of these recalls, GM discovered that this latest group of SUVs never received the new part. According to documents submitted to NHTSA (as a PDF), "Some dealers incorrectly used the labor code associated with module replacement when, instead of replacing the module, they only added a protective coating to the module." To fix things this time, the models finally get the correct component. Related Video: GM Statement General Motors is recalling 9,932 older midsize SUVs in the U.S. because they were mistakenly excluded from an earlier recall. Certain 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL, and 2006-2007 TrailBlazer, Envoy, Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7X and Isuzu Ascender vehicles may continue to have a condition in which the printed circuit board inside the driver's door may corrode and short if exposed to certain fluids such as melted snow containing road salt. GM is aware of four fires but no crashes, injuries or fatalities associated with the expanded recall. The total number of vehicles being recalled, including Canada, Mexico and exports is 10.974. Customers are urged to park these vehicles outside until repairs have been made. GM reported this recall to the NHTSA on September 23.
