2003 Saab 9-5 Linear sedan with rare 5-speed priced to sell ! Great vehicle in winter weather with manual trans and also more fuel efficient. Vehicle runs and drives excellent , recent tires and synthetic oil change. I listed this vehicle with a salvage title since I acquired it from the insurance company with minor damage. Lots of Saab's have been totalled lately due to saab's bankruptcy and lack of parts. In this case however , I am assuming age and mileage was the reason for this vehicle being totalled. Parts for this model year are very easy to locate. I also want to mention that Saab parts are now back in business and are available new. I had the left front fender replaced since I was able to find it in exact color along with the left front suspension.I ended up replacing the right front strut also so the front struts would match. I posted a picture (last photo) prior to repair. I had the front end aligned with no issues and this vehicle tracks and rides great ! I would like to mention that the hood has minor damage along the left side , left rear door and wheel opening area have minor damage , trunk top portion scratches and windshield has a stone crack. Equipped: 2.3 Liter fuel efficient 4-cylinder turbo engine , 5- speed manual trans , leather interior , factory CD/Cassette , 1- remote , fog lamps , power moonroof , power heated front seats , Kelly 215/55/R16 93H tires with 95% tread remaining etc. Vehicle is being sold in condition "AS IS ! " with a CT salvage title. Please check your local salvage laws before bidding. I can arrange shipping at a reasonable rate. Contact Allen with questions 1ofals@optonline.net 201-248-3818.

Vampire Weekend burns for Saab
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Or is it the other way around?
Could Vampire Weekend be trying to tell me something? A just-launched music video for the indie rock band's new single Diane Young features what looks like a pretty mint black Saab 900 Turbo Convertible being torched in slow-motion. In fact, with the exception of a brief, flickering cameo by a 900 three-door of a similar vintage, that's all that there is to the nearly three-minute long video. It's both sad and oddly beautiful.
Coincidentally, I have a similar-looking turbocharged black Saab convertible sitting in my garage, and I've been reluctantly pondering its sale this very week. Admittedly, mine is a later model (2001 9-3 Viggen), but tri-spokes and more tapered rump aside, it looks eerily identical. And while mine isn't mired in flames (I love it too much to torch it), through no fault of its own, it's been sitting motionless far too regularly. Thankfully, I see a better future for it than the droptop seen above.
Ultra-rare 2011 Saab 9-4X up for grabs on Cars & Bids
Sun, Aug 1 2021Saab's sad saga is full of might-have-beens and missed opportunities. As the 21st century dawned, it became clear that the Saab brand could not survive without an SUV in its lineup. In 2005, the 9-2X, a badge-engineered Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, was rushed into production (GM being a part-owner of Subaru parent company Fuji Heavy Industries at the time). That same year same GM also put a new nose on the distinctly mediocre Chevrolet TrailBlazer and peddle that as the Saab 9-7X. The last of the GM-based Saab SUVs was the 9-4X, which was mechanically twinned with the second-generation Cadillac SRX and built alongside it in Mexico. By the time the model was introduced for 2011, GM had already off-loaded Saab. But the new ownership would be short-lived, and production of the 9-4X ended after only a handful of 2012 models had rolled down the line. It's believed that a total of only 803 9-4Xs were built, of which 622 were sold in the United States, which explains why you haven't seen one lately. Or, perhaps, ever. But now you can buy one, as this 2011 example is available right now on Cars & Bids. This is a top-spec Aero version, which means it gets a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 and the Saab-developed X-drive all-wheel drive, rather than the naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V6 in the base and Premium trims. That gives you 300 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, although this one sports a VTuner Stage 0 tune, so it could have more. With five days still to go, bidding stands at $8,500. For the Saab fans out there, don't let this be another missed opportunity. Related Video: Saab 9-4X concept introduced at Detroit Auto Show
Junkyard Gem: 1988 Saab 900
Tue, Nov 29 2016Saab had a cult following in North America going back to the two-stroke Saab 96, but it wasn't until the 900 made its debut for the 1978 model year that the marque started to be considered a mainstream – if still a bit odd – brand here. Based on the venerable 99 but seeming a lot more modern, the 900 sold well to those who wanted to drive something sensibly Scandinavian but didn't want the stodginess of a Volvo. These cars were especially popular in Colorado, and I found this high-mile-but-solid '88 in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. Nearly made it to 300,000 miles, but it never got the chance. The key is still in the console-mounted ignition switch, and the steel lanyard indicates that this car went to the wrecking yard via an insurance-company or dealership-trade-in auction. Since the car has no major body damage, that means that its final owner traded it in – reluctantly, we hope – on another car, and nobody was willing to bid over scrap value for the elderly Swede at auction. Most such auctions have an arrangement with a local wrecking yard to take all the unsold cars for a set price, and that's what we can assume happened to this car. Chances are that it was still in running condition when it showed up here. You could get a 1988 Saab 900 with a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission, but I can't recall having ever seen one so equipped. Most Saab 900 buyers insisted on manuals. The engine in this car is a slant-four based on the same Triumph engine used in the Triumph TR7. By the 1980s, Saab had made sufficient improvements to the design that it was several orders of magnitude more reliable than its British Leyland ancestors. This one made 110 horses, which did an acceptable job of moving the car's 2,695 pounds. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
