Super nice and fast Saab 9-3 Aero convertible in excellent shape both mechanically and physically with minor scratches and one small ding on the body. New tires, brakes, collant flush and overflow bottle. All work & maintainance performed at reputable well known repair shop in oc. New top. Rare 6 speed manual transmission (much better than automatics on these cars in my opinion since i have ownerd both). Very fast and accurate shifter. Clutch is light and is a pleasure to operate.2 Key Fobs included and 2 blades. Solid clean exhaust, no leaks or rust. 4 wheel allignment just done with camber kit installation. Ice cold AC. New outside rear view mirror tinted glass with blind sopt section (really cool). No squeeks, rattles, hesitation, warning lights (except for the northstar wich i havent checked out yet. New Emblems front and back. Light legal tinted windows all around. Front headlight lenses refinished just recently. Powerful sound system with 6 cd changer. Minor blemishes in driver's seat. Every thing works like it should. I bought the car for my 17 year old for its safety and european features as i have owned quite a few saab's before, but he decided that he wants an automatic Honda instead. No stories here. It is a head turner and as much as i would love to keep it for my self, i just have too many cars and it wouldnt be financially responsible for me to do that. 2014 Saab 9-3 officially relaunched, reborn
Thu, 05 Dec 2013Saab is officially building cars again. Production of the 9-3 Sedan has kicked back off in Trollhättan, Sweden, and the first example is reportedly earmarked for the company's museum. Initial sales are targeted for China, although Swedish customers will also be able to buy new Saabs built in their country right away, too. It isn't immediately clear if the model will be available in the rest of Europe, let alone in North America.
The initial run of 9-3s will be powered by a 220-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder before an electric model joins the range next year. There are no Biopower or XWD all-wheel-drive models presently in production. And while the lion's share of the 2014 9-3 is a carryover from the pre-bankruptcy car, there are some changes, including a new anti-whiplash seat system and a "greater number of non-GM parts," reports SaabsUnited.
"I am very proud of the dedication and the focus that NEVS management and employees have demonstrated over the year that has passed since we became owners of the plant in Trollhättan, and who have made this possible. Swedish expertise along with Japanese technology around batteries and new lightweight materials and our Chinese group's focus on green technology is our strength for the future," said Kai Johan Jiang, the founder of Saab's parent company, National Electric Vehicle Sweden.
Mahindra buying majority stake in NEVS, Saab saved again?
Tue, Dec 2 2014National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), owner of Saab, might not be dead yet, because the company is reportedly close to having a new owner with deeper pockets in near future. The declaration comes from the business's latest request to prolong its reorganization and includes the claim that NEVS has a signed letter of intent from an unnamed Asian automaker to take majority ownership of the beleaguered brand. While NEVS doesn't specifically name this potential, future owner in its filing, Automotive News Europe cites a SaabsUnited story proclaiming that the suitor is none other than Indian automaker Mahindra and Mahindra, a development that would confirm months of rumors. The Swedish automaker is reportedly just waiting for the majority investment to be finalized before making an official announcement, and the whole purchase could be complete by February. NEVS also claims that it's still negotiating with a separate, unnamed Asian automaker on a joint venture to co-develop new vehicles. Assuming the deal goes through, the new owner could regain the rights to the Saab brand, too. According to ANE, negotiations are underway with the Saab AB aerospace business to be able to use the trademark again. NEVS lost that right when it filed for reorganization. Mahindra has shown interest in owning Saab for quite some time. It was reportedly among the final three bidders for the brand in 2012, and the Indian automaker was allegedly eyeing a stake in NEVS as far back as June. NEV deal to buy Saab delayed
Fri, 03 Aug 2012Remember a month and a half ago when we told you that Saab will "soldier on?" Well, we should have written "stand at attention."
According to SaabsUnited, the deal for National Electric Vehicle Sweden to buy the remaining Saab assets didn't close on schedule. In fact, it's been delayed by "a month, perhaps more." NEVS also seems to have indicated that it's not going to be answering any more questions about the deal until it's completed.
NEVS is supposedly planning on building electric cars based on the design that would have been the next-generation 9-3. The company itself is a partnership between a Chinese energy company and a Japanese investment group.
