Selling my 2007 Saab 9-3 Turbo, Automatic. Car is black with 136,000 miles on it. Runs and drives amazing, strong motor and trans. Runs like it has 75,000 miles on it. Regular maintenance during the time I've owned it (2 1/2 years 50,000 miles). Used this car mostly commuting from college to my hometown. Gorgeous car, I get so many compliments and head turns! Turbo still kicks and it gets up and goes, pretty quick car. 2.0 liter motor and gets insanely awesome gas mileage!! Huge plus as the car is fast because it's turbo charged but still gets as good of gas mileage as any non hybrid car!
Car handles great as it has some type of sport package (17 inch Saab rims and sport suspension), sits slightly lower than Saabs without. The car was purchased by me 2 1/2 years ago with a Salvage title due to minor damage to the front (damaged front bumper, hood and headlight), just body work, nothing mechanical. I've had the car 50,000 miles since the title was restored to REBUILT and there is no issue due to the minor damage. Airbag DID deploy and was NOT replaced. Just the driver (front facing) airbag. All others are completely fine (Driver side-side airbag, passenger front and side and all airbags in the backseats). It is possible to replace. The only other issue worth mentioning is the Strut bearings need replaced at some point. It's not an urgent issue as they are not a threat in any way, just make an annoying rattle over certain bumps. They run about $45 each, plus installation. Here's a list of what the car offers:

2007 Saab 9-3 Turbo Automatic Trans
2.0 liter motor (strong, no issues)
Turbo Charged (Super quick)
Slap shift paddle shift option
17 inch sport rims on 235/45/17's (front tread 60%, back 40%)
Leather Seats, HEATED
Power EVERYTHING (including Driver seat, not passenger)
Sunroof, flip or full slide (Does NOT leak)

List of known issues:

Front Driver Airbag needs replaced if wanted. For me it wasn't an issue.
Front Strut bearings need replaced at some point.
Clear coat on hood and front bumper cover is peeling. In the process of getting this redone/fixed.
Few small dents/scraps/scratches
Windshield wiper fluid assembly needs a hose or two ran to make work properly. (easy fix)
Side marker lights (lower front bumper) do not work and can't be connect due to different year bumper being put on when car was being repaired.
Missing the lower skirt on front bumper (see pictures)

All in all this is an awesome car for having 136,000. Keep in mind though that it has normal wear for the mileage.

Saab owner may speed up relaunch with gas-powered 9-3

Wed, 21 Nov 2012

National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owner of Saab, has good news for you if you happened to miss out on picking up a 9-3 before the company plummeted through bankruptcy. Automotive News Europe reports NEVS may offer a gasoline-powered 9-3 in 2013. That move would effectively step up the brand's re-launch plan by a full year. Originally, the company planned to introduce an electric vehicle in 2014, but NEVS is currently investigating ways to start production next summer using "a 9-3 with a traditional powertrain" in order to generate more cash for the electrification effort.
NEVS purchased Saab earlier this year with the intent of resurrecting the brand with a fully electric product portfolio. The new EVs would theoretically ride on the Saab Phoenix platform and be manufactured at the automaker's plant in Trollhattan, Sweden. The report of a resurrected gasoline model came courtesy of Mikael Oestlund, a company spokesperson familiar with the company's workings.

Saab owners NEVS denied creditor protection by Swedish court

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

The story of Saab is practically a Greek tragedy at this point. The quirky Swedish automaker that was once known as a pioneer of affordable turbocharging has been followed by years of news that just seemed to keep getting worse. At this point, maybe the brand name should be allowed to fade away into the ether and be remembered for the good times that it gave us.
Saab's latest predicament is that its parent National Electric Vehicle Sweden (or NEVS) has been denied protection from its creditors by the Swedish courts. According to Reuters, the judges called the business' financing plan "vague and completely undocumented." A company spokesperson told Reuters that it plans to appeal.
Seemingly in reaction to the court's decision, NEVS posted a press release on its website announcing that the company had applied "for a reorganization to create more time for the ongoing negotiations." The automaker continues to claim that it's negotiating with two global automakers to sell a portion of the company, possibly Mahindra, but the process is taking longer than it originally predicted. It seems a distinct possibility that this reorganization attempt is simply a way to buy extra time.

Dealership refunds student for broken Saab with bags of pennies

Fri, Jul 25 2014

Every so often, we come across the story of someone trying to "stick it to the man" by paying a parking fine or speeding ticket in pennies or dimes. Never, though, have we heard of a business stooping to such cliched lengths. Enter Florida. Irena Mujakovic bought a 2003 Saab way back in January from Holiday Motors, in Jacksonville, FL. Shortly after the purchase, the transmission started acting up. She returned to the dealer and paid for the repair, and purchased a warranty for future issues. Total cost: $300. But then the trans crapped out not long after the initial repair, and Mujakovic was back at Holiday Motors. This is where things start going south. This second trip cost Mujakovic $400, with her warranty in hand. That's because the man that runs the dealer, Ed Di Miranda, neglected to mention that the warranty didn't cover labor costs. "The warranty did not cover labor and I failed to write that in and that was her loophole," Di Miranda told First Coast News. The young college student filed a complaint with the Florida DMV, who sided with her and ordered Holiday Motors to refund the money. Di Miranda and the dealership did just that, but when Mujakovic came to collect her refund, it was to a bag of pennies, with a few dollar bills sprinkled in for good measure. Di Miranda, doesn't seem to think he's done anything wrong, claiming that only about $85 was in change, while the rest was paper money. "I am doing what DMV asked me to do," Di Miranda said. "It is legal tender." Mujakovic has not collected her refund. Have a look below for the video news report. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences.
