I am selling my 2003 SAAB 9 3 because i am not using it since I bought my SUV. it is a great car and I have always taken very good care of it. the oil has been changed every 3000 MILES like clockwork only using mobil one. I have modified the car to use a stand alone heavy duty transmission oil cooler ( as you know early 9 3 transmissions fail because of coolant cross contamination when the oil goes directly to the radiator. the saab site recommends using a stand alone oil cooler to eliminate this problem and that is why I did it. it now uses a tru cool heavy duty transmission oil cooler. I have had no transmission problems with this car ever.) The engine is whisper quiet and can be driven from its current destination to anywhere in the USA NO MATTER HOW MANY MILES. the interior and exterior are both in good condition with only one minor dent to the reight front bumper that can be easily repaired. ( see picture ) the only other thing is that the radio shorted out and is not currently not working. I bought a used unmarried radio but have not had the time to install it but will include it with the auction. The car only have 59,800 original highway miles and am the second owner. I have set the reserve at $4500

There will be five new SAAB EVs, starting in 2017
Thu, Dec 17 2015National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), which bought Swedish automaker Saab out of bankruptcy in 2012, has finally solidified some of its vehicle-making plans. And given the prominence of the word "electric" in the company's name, NEVs is staying true to its vision, announcing that it will have five electric vehicle models for sale by 2018. The company recently made the announcement in Stockholm, according to Saab Blog. The first EV will be based on the Saab 9-3 platform and may be available in China and Sweden by 2017. The following year, NEVS is planning to debut four more all-electric models, including a sports car, SUV, crossover, and a fastback. The cars will be assembled in Tianjin, China. Whether the Saab badge will actually be used remains in question, as NEVS is no longer affiliated with the Saab AB aerospace company. Making things even potentially murkier is the fact that NEVS said this fall that it would sell the intellectual property rights for the 9-3 to the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), which would make the model the official Turkish National Car. Then again, nothing's been simple for Saab, which has passed through General Motors and Spyker and has had multiple reorganizations. Either way, the plan follows up a summer announcement that NEVS would work with China-based automaker Dongfeng Motor Corp. to develop electrified vehicles. Dongfeng has worked with electric-vehicle leaders Nissan and Renault as well as Honda, Kia and Peugeot. The company made more than 3.8 million vehicles in 2014.
Spyker's $3B lawsuit against GM for blocking Saab sale thrown out
Tue, 11 Jun 2013US District Judge Gershwin Drain has dismissed a $3-billion lawsuit Spyker filed against General Motors. In the suit, Spyker accused GM of attempting to bankrupt Saab after the US automaker had already sold the company to Spyker. GM in effect blocked the sale of Saab to China's Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Company by prohibiting the transfer of some of its intellectual property. But the court found that GM had a "contractual right" to approve or disapprove any change of ownership. Furthermore, Reuters reports Judge Drain said the contract between GM and Spyker "is clear, unambiguous and absolute" on the matter.
GM, meanwhile, says it is pleased with the ruling. Spyker CEO Victor Muller has not said whether or not his company will appeal the ruling. The Dutch automaker is expected to make a final decision once the court issues its written order on the case.

What brands have Saab owners defected to? Polk investigates
Sun, 02 Sep 2012When a brand goes belly-up, it's natural for analysts to wonder where that brand's consumers will turn. General Motors has mothballed more car brands the last decade than most other automakers' have in their entire portfolios, so "Where did [insert brand here] buyers go?" has been a common question asked of The General. According to reports, it didn't do so well at retaining Oldsmobile owners (who supposedly went to Hyundai), or Hummer and Saturn buyers, but did get some return love from Pontiac owners.
A consultant with Polk has turned the loyalty lens on Saab. The Polk Disposal Loyalty Methodology tracks owners selling vehicles within six months of buying a new one. In 2010 and 2011, Polk found that when Saab died, owners went right up the middle of the mainstream to Honda. It was close, though, with just 0.2 percent separating Honda from number two Volkswagen. Audi comes in third.
After that it's back to the masses with Toyota, Chevrolet and Ford trumping import luxury brands. And if you combine all of the General Motors brands that Saab owners have migrated to, GM more than doubles Honda with a 15.2-percent share, so all the love is not lost.
