Latest Rolls-Royce Wraith teaser reveals fastback form

In its fourth and final teaser before the 2014 Wraith is introduced next week, Rolls-Royce has released another image of the car showing a distinct fastback appearance. We've seen this car teased in its profile before, but that image had a heavy shadow over the rear of the car obscuring what should be the Wraith's defining element.
Rolls-Royce motorcars aren't exactly known for having overtly sporty proportions, but this could all change with the Wraith's styling. Judging by the teased drawing and official words from Rolls-Royce, the coupe's roofline will flow practically in a straight line from the A-pillar back to the rear of the car. With such a design, the Wraith could well become one of the world's most elegant and expensive hatchbacks, though it may also have a conventional hinged trunk opening.
Over the last month, we've also seen a rear shot of the car as well as glimpse of what the interior has in store, but the two images showing the car's profile give us our best idea of what to expect when the car is unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The rebooted Top Gear revealed its full slate of new co-hosts last week, complete with a lineup of names and faces we know – and one we don't. That's Rory Reid, the one new host chosen from public auditions. Though most of us many never have seen his face or heard his voice, he's not new to reviewing cars on video. In addition to hosting automotive videos for CNET and Sky television, Reid is also automotive editor for a British video series called Recombu. Most of the reviews he's done for the YouTube channel are pretty straightforward, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of whatever he's driving – from a Bentley Continental GT Speed or Range Rover Sport SVR to a Mini JCW or Peugeot 308 GTI. But when it came to the Rolls-Royce Ghost, Rory was evidently moved to take things in a different (and original) direction. Instead of simply describing the luxury sedan as most automotive journalists would, Reid rapped about it. The result is a pretty novel take on the usual car review, and no doubt helped him secure the spot on the revived BBC program alongside the likes of Chris Evans, Chris Harris, Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, Matt LeBlanc, and of course the Stig. Rolls-Royce Phantom Limelight is opulence par excellence

Rolls-Royce never tires of putting out limited-edition versions of the company's plush models as a way to show off what its Bespoke team is capable of. The latest in a long line of ritzy Rolls is the new Phantom Limelight Collection, which takes inspiration from the theatrical stage. The luxurious sedan was technically unveiled at the recent Shanghai Motor Show, but detailed images and more info about the custom four-door was just released. Limited to 25 cars worldwide, the Limelight Collection marks the debut of Rolls' latest rear seats, and they are about as lavish as you would expect. The chair backs can recline up to 27 degrees, and a calf rest comes up a further 68 degrees to fully support wealthy passengers. There's also a power footrest hidden in the floor. Beyond the swanky seats, the Limelight also packs a dressers-worth of storage in the doors. Offered in both Ladies' or Gentleman's versions, they include custom places to store perfume, watches and jewelry. The rest of the interior is also available in two schemes that are dominated by either Seashell leather with Navy Blue as a contrast or vice-versa. To complete the theme, the exterior is painted in a shade called Gala Blue, and there's a Seashell and navy stripe painted down the side. Like the rest of Rolls' special cars, the Limelight amounts to some seriously upscale trim on an already high-class vehicle, but there's little doubt the company can sell all 25 of them. Its name was inspired by the origin of a British invention which became synonymous with fame. The limelight effect was originally discovered in the 1820s by Sir Goldsworthy Gurney, a prototypical British gentleman scientist and inventor of the Victorian era. It was harnessed to revolutionise illumination in the theatres of London's Covent Garden, highlighting leading actors on the stage, thus leading to the phrase, 'in the limelight'.
