Cleanest And Best Maintained Silver Spur, Rare Burgundy Color! on 2040-cars
Palm Coast, Florida, United States
READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY A ROLLS Or BENTLEY. This is the cleanest and best maintained Silver Spur you will find on the market. See photo of the original sticker. If you have never owned one of these, there is a lot to know before making a purchase...First and foremost, low mileage means nothing on these cars. It is all about maintenance. Before you buy one of these make sure you know what you are getting into. If you find one with 40,000 miles on it but it has had 7 owners....RUN!!!. It means that the previous owners did not want to put any money into the maintenance of it and it surely needs a lot of TLC. You will be buying a nightmare....
I bought this car from a friend in Tampa, and he bought it from a fellow Rolls lover that is a his friend in Miami. He was the original owner. Intermediate owner stated: I had all the maintenance records when I bought it. This car has only been out of the state of Florida twice when I drove it to Georgia. It has never seen snow or salted roads. The under carriage is in perfect condition.
These cars have a braking system with a secondary back up system ( second set of front calipers ) and a ride control system that all operate off of a very complex configuration of spheres full of mineral oil and hydrogen. ( I totally redid the system - about $5000.00 at the dealer )
at 75K miles, i put the car up on blocks. Because they can nickel and dime you and quite frankly drive you crazy, I did a major rebuild all at one time. Here is what was done:
Replaced all belts rebuilt AC including new compressor replaced the Plenum Gaskets and all vapor lines on the top of the motor. This has to be done on all of them or they will leak air and never idle properly. ( If you find one that idles up and down slightly, this is why.) Rebuilt and replaced entire mineral oil system ( about $5000.00 as mentioned earlier ) Replaced all brake pads with OEM pads Removed and turned all 4 rotors ( this is a 2 day job by the way ) Rebuilt all 6 Calipers ( yes, there are 2 sets of rotors on each front wheel and 1 set on the rears - There are only 2 guys in the country that are known for rebuilding these )
Replaced the rack and pinion with the Bentley Rack ( this is bigger and a little tighter than the original - highly recommended as it makes the car much safer and more responsive )
Replaced triangle bushings.
Replaced compliance bushings
Replaced plug wires with thicker silicone wires much better performance than the old thin ones
Replaced spark plugs with NGK OEM plugs ( shipped in from England )
Replaced tires with OEM Goodyear Eagle GA tires - most Rolls now have replacement tires that do not have a strong enough side walls to support the weight of this car. The result is a mushy ride
Removed and replaced all fluids including the differential, Transmission, Radiator.
Rebuilt all wheel bearings and repacked with the appropriate rolls lubricant.
Rebuilt shock tubes - these are little hidden green tubes that most people don't know exist, but are critical to the stability of the rear of the car
Rebuilt trunk latch mechanism
Brand new Sheepskin proper matching floor mats ( $2000.00 )
The things above would have cost about $18,000.00 at a Rolls Dealer - This is why is is is so critical to really understand this car before you buy one. There is nothing else like them. They are incredible, but it takes the right person to own one. Fortunately, this one is ready for another 80K miles. There are no guarantees but I have taken away most of the potential problems you could have with owning one of these for a long-time.
Installed an Alpine Stereo system with 4 Focal midrange and tweeter 2 piece speakers in each door as well as a 12" subwoofer in the trunk. ( About $3-4K worth of Stereo )
I still have all the original stereo equipment that came with the care ( an alpine tape deck ) - We were able to use the existing cd changer as it is compatible with the new Alpine that is in the car.
The car came with 2 cell phones - one in each center console front and back. I have them as well. I have all orginal parts for the car including the manuals in perfect condition.
NADA Average retail on this car is $60K. If I sold it for $50K it would be a bargain, but I will let it go for $38,999 obo for a quick sale.

Ex-Rolls-Royce design chief Ian Cameron killed at home
Tue, Jul 16 2024Former Rolls-Royce design chief Ian Cameron, the man who oversaw the automaker's design renaissance with the Phantom and Ghost ranges, was stabbed to death at his home in Bavaria (translated) on July 12. German newspaper reports have identified a suspect via surveillance camera (translated) whom police say is the killer. Apparently, the man went shopping at a store less than a mile from Cameron's house, then changed clothes and showed up at Cameron's door. A surveillance image before the suspect gets to the house shows him wearing the items that neighbors described, notably light pants, a dark blue hoodie, a red backpack and "yellow-green gloves." Someone reportedly cut the wires on the home security system, the suggestion being that the suspect or someone else involved had cased the house for at least a few days. It's said the killer rang the doorbell, attacking as soon as Cameron opened the front door, stabbing the designer to death. Verena Kloos, Cameron's wife, escaped to a neighbor's house and called police. This is a bizarre incident. Reports have floated the motivation that the killer wanted one of the vehicles in Cameron's car collection at the Bavarian property. Instead of going after a car, though, the killer ran off in his distinctive outfit, staying in the open long enough for neighbors to give a detailed description. He then changed clothes and ditched the backpack on a lakeside promenade not far from Cameron's house. Strangest of all, the man apparently left the clothes near the backpack, and the backpack contained items the man had bought during his shopping trip before the murder. At the time of writing, police are searching throughout Germany but haven't caught the suspect. With a clear picture and a likely trove of DNA evidence, authorities have excellent leads. Anyone who can help is asked to get in touch with the Furstenfeldbruck Criminal Investigation Department at (+49) 8.14.16.120. Cameron's career started at Pininfarina in 1975, culminating in a greatest hits of designs while at BMW. He has exterior design of the third-generation Range Rover on his resume, as well as the BMW Z8. It was Cameron's Phantom, though, that helped create an entirely new Rolls-Royce after BMW bought the brand. CEO Chris Brownridge wrote on LinkedIn that "Ian played a significant role in shaping Rolls-Royce from when it was first acquired by BMW Group and moved to its home at Goodwood, West Sussex.
So, how do you actually pronounce that automaker's name?
Thu, Jan 21 2016You probably have that friend who always says Porsche wrong, or maybe it's someone who keeps reminding you it's actually two syllables. Whichever side of the pronunciation debate you fall on, you'll find someone to root for in the video above. And before you ask, this was all the video team's idea. So don't get mad at me for being the voice of reason. BMW Chevrolet Hyundai Nissan Rolls-Royce Videos Original Video nissan qashqai
