This 1996 Rolls Royce Silver Spur, manufactured in Crewe, England, is an extremely clean, well maintained vehicle with just over 29,000 original miles.  The mechanics of the car are excellent.  It has been serviced regularly by Rolls Royce dealers, most recently by Herb Chambers Rolls Royce in Massachusettes, and has just had new Yokohama touring tires installed.  This car does NOT go out in inclement weather and resides in a climate-controlled garage under a custom-made car cover by California Car Covers of Beverly Hills (which comes with the vehicle) ; the steering wheel, too, has its own specially designed "RR" cover.  The ivory leather interior is excellent and the wood vaneer pristine.  The interior has all the comfort and exotic features expected in a Rolls Royce.  All gauges and lights are in excellent working order.  The climate control system works perfectly.  The exterior is very nice and still has that deep multi-lacquer finish of Mason Black with Tan Piping.

If you've ever wanted a hand-crafted luxury car with such classic, distinctive styling, this could be your opportunity.

This vehicle is sold as is with no existing warranty.  Also, this vehicle is being sold locally and if sold, this auction is cancelled.

Rolls-Royce celebrates Goodwood with Chicane edition Phantom Coupe

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

Of all the automakers out there, perhaps none scream "race track" as quietly as Rolls-Royce. But the British luxury automaker has its home near the Goodwood Motor Circuit, and has honored that proximity with its latest special edition.
Called the Chicane, it's based on the Phantom Coupe and is upgraded with a series of tastefully motorsport-inspired details. It's painted in gunmetal grey with a matte black hood and windshield frame, with matching gunmetal wheels - a modern Rolls-Royce first - and a red interior decked out with carbon-fiber trim and a checkered flag motif that's repeated on the exterior coachline.
The special one-off was commissioned by the dealership in Dubai and was created by the Rolls-Royce Bespoke division. Feel free to read more in the press release below.

Grey Poupon's Pardon Me Lost Footage ad airs during Oscars

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Those of you that took our tip and tuned in for last night's Academy Awards may have caught the latest iteration of the famous Grey Poupon commercials, featuring a pair of Rolls-Royce sedans and their condiment-loving stewards. The update to the 1981 commercial was only shown in part on television, however, as the mustard company directed viewers to its website to see the entirety of the Lost Footage spot. Of course if you didn't bother then, you can just scroll down to see the full-length two-minute commercial here.
As you're viewing, note that the Grey Poupon marketers did not, it would appear, get official sanction from Rolls-Royce this time around. While the Rollers in the commercial have all sorts of James Bond-like accouterments, they don't appear to have the official Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornaments, for example, and they have restyled lights and grilles. Check out the new spot below, and see if it stacks up to the iconic Pardon Me original.

2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II [w/video]

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

Rolls-Royce Director of Global Communications Richard Carter tells me that his storied employer is "a company that does not chase volume." In a perfect world, mused Carter, the carmaker would sell "one less" of its ultra-luxury vehicles than the fast-expanding world market demands.
And, thanks in no small part to the unprecedented success of the Series I Rolls-Royce Ghost that launched in 2010, the Brit brand seems well positioned to strike that perfect balance between exclusivity and record profits. In 2003 (the year in which the first BMW-backed Rolls rolled off the line in West Sussex), the company managed to sell around 500 cars. This year, with the first run of already-back-ordered Ghost Series II models still weeks away from delivery, the marque will top 4,000 units for the first time in its history.
Considering that each one of those "units" - a somewhat unsatisfying term for motor car this special - will gross Rolls-Royce $300,000 if we're being very conservative, you'll quickly see that creating a very desirable product for one of the best brands in the world negates the need to chase volume. The rich and free-spending are chasing this Ghost, instead.
