This is a VERY well kept and babied 1988 Rolls Royce Silver Spur which is driven and garaged in Miami. It was originally purchased new from Braman Motors in Miami. It is painted in the rare and prestigous “Queens Colors” of Claret and Acrylic Garnet. Trim is A4178 Tan Hide with a Tan wool headliner. This is a great luxury and reliable driving vehicle for special outings as well as everyday use. The Everlast roof is clean and is a desired option on any classic Rolls. The “Flying Lady” on the front grill is gold in color and was a $1000 extra. The Spur is the extended version with wide rear doors for ease of entry and extra exceptional leg room with foot supports. Rear seats have lighted “make-up” mirrors surrounded by wood and wool and, of course, the signature fold down wood tables. Shinny S/S hub caps are in very good condition and the orbits are painted to match the body color. Comes with original owner's books. This car has been VERY well maintained and selectively driven. Over the 12 years I have owned and enjoyed this superb vehicle I have done the following to keep it up to date and performing as it knows best:

New Valve cover gaskets

New spark plug wires, cap and rotor

All filters

New Radiator, thermostat, water pump, and fan clutch

All new RR fan belts

New A/C compressor and drier

New front struts

New Compliance Bushing

New shock absorbers

Professionally rebuild original steering Rack

New brake pads front and rear

Professionally rebuilt original alternator

New battery

Recent whitewall tires 4 Goodyear Eagle GA P235/70R15

Wired for XM satellite radio

LoJack installed

Vehicle has 131,000 original miles. All wood is in great condition, with some cracking on the clear finish as would be expected. Have the Lamb’s wool mats to go with it. This vehicle runs and drives as it should. It comes with some tools and a complete bulb kit. Have all owner’s books and most service records. My hope is that someone who will appreciate this fine vehicle as much as I have and will be the next person to continue the joy.

Neglected Rolls-Royce Phantom may be the saddest of all time

Fri, 30 May 2014

Rolls-Royce prides itself on exemplifying the pinnacle of automotive elegance. The brand is synonymous with quality and luxury. However, in the end even a Rolls is still just a car, and if you don't keep it up, it's bound to fail. That deterioration can be seriously fun to watch, though.
This 2005 Rolls-Royce Phantom might now be one of the worst cars on the planet and only has a little over 95,000 miles on it. The video claims that the original owner in New Jersey didn't make payments on the car for three years but rented the sedan out to people and used it for a livery service. Now, it's repossessed and would probably cost more to fix than it's worth.
This Phantom has had a hard life. We don't want to spoil too many of the broken pieces because they pile up to become increasingly absurd. However, the pièce de résistance must to be the broken Spider-Man umbrella in the door.

Rolls-Royce looks to the heavens with diamond-encrusted Celestial Phantom

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

The Middle East is a vital market for Rolls-Royce, particularly in the Gulf emirates. So the British automaker wouldn't let the region's premier auto show go by unnoticed, and to that end has rolled into the Dubai Motor Show with an array of special editions.
Chief among them is the Celestial edition Phantom, a customized limousine that initially debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show but has returned to Dubai with the addition of 446 diamonds hand-set into the door panels, center console and cabin privacy partition. Taking the spirit of the Phantom's trademark starlight headliner even further, the Celestial edition reproduces overhead the constellations exactly as they were on the evening of January 1, 2003, when Rolls-Royce delivered the first Phantom to its owner, as verified by the South Downs Planetarium in Chichester, England.
The Bespoke division also fitted the Celestial Phantom with inky blue leather, special glassware and a custom picnic set. The wheel hubs are also engraved and the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament uplit, demonstrating just a few of the possibilities awaiting those with the means not only to buy a new Rolls-Royce, but also commission special features from the Bespoke department.

Ventilator built with help from Rolls-Royce receives approval in UK

Thu, Apr 16 2020

LONDON — Britain has given the first regulatory approval to a ventilator being built by a consortium of firms including Airbus and Rolls-Royce as part of efforts to combat the coronavirus. Governments around the world are trying to boost the number of ventilators — mechanical breathing devices that can blow air and oxygen into the lungs — available to their health services. The modified version of an existing device by Penlon will join a product from fellow medical firm Smiths, which is already being built by the group of aerospace, engineering, Formula One and automotive companies to fulfill a government order. “We are working closely with our supply chain partners to rapidly scale up production to achieve our target of at least 1,500 units a week,” said Dick Elsy, the chief executive of the VentilatorChallengeUK consortium. The government said on Thursday it was confirming an order for 15,000 Penlon devices. AirbusÂ’ Broughton site, which makes wings for commercial aircraft, along with FordÂ’s Dagenham engine factory and McLarenÂ’s Woking site are being used as part of the process, he said. Separately, vacuum-cleaner firm Dyson is still awaiting approval for its ventilator. Related Video:
