This amazing Rolls Royce was purchased new from Bentley & Rolls Royce of Beverly Hills by world renowned Otto Heino. Otto cherished this car and owned it for over twenty years while residing in Ojai, CA. I am the third owner. I have owned various Rolls and have been very pleased with this car.
Otto is an internationally acclaimed potter, one of the few potters who can keep a refined shape in a large vessel. An eye for form and skill of throwing aside, Otto's potting required great strength. He was able to throw 100 pounds of clay at once !
He received many of the highest distinctions and awards. His works have been exhibited at the Picasso Museum in France, SF De Young Museum, LACM, NY American Craft Museum, Smithsonian, Boston Museum of Fine Arts amongst others. He called himself the oldest and richest potter in the world. If you like art, worth taking a look at his works..
Back to the car which is why you are here. I just wanted the new owner to recognize and hopefully appreciate the history a bit, as I have. Now back to the car.
It is a great example of a car that has been driven locally, maintained and enjoyed in it's original state. The paint is original and best to convey the two tone is like a champagne/soft gold over a dk brown/black.. which changes in the light, day and night. The interior is in great condition with newly recovered backings of the extra plush rear floor mats and foot rests. I have restored the back shelf panel and the leather dash, yet rest is very nice. Wood is very nice w/ some typical spots of fine line stresslines in few areas.
While Otto resided in Ojai he still often serviced the car in Beverly Hills and I still have a few records from him. In 1999 he had the radiator recored and got a new thermostat installed, also replaced the gas springs. Back in 2005 Otto had new fuel pump, new injectors and wiring installed.
In 2009 new owner had the car serviced and had fuel distributor rebuilt, replaced spark plugs, new fuel accumulator and retrofitted A/C for R134 charge.
In 2010 all new tires put on at 47,226 miles.
In 2012 the car was serviced at Jim Rickman Motors (very well known in Pasadena) - In 2013 I have too serviced the car at my local shop and have replaced battery as well.
Please enjoy the pictures and best of luck with the beautiful Rolls.

2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge | Ecstasy in the shadows
Wed, Mar 2 2022Every now and again, something hits my driveway that absolutely stumps me. It can be tricky enough to come up with something to write about the fifth Hyundai Sonata or third Jeep Wrangler I’ve driven in the space of 18 months, but something like the 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge presents a very different conundrum: What can I possibly say to the person who has a half million dollars to spend on their next ride? I rounded up there but not by much. Before tax, tags and your driverÂ’s salary, this Ghost checks in at $484,950. Of that, $43,850 goes to Black Badge, which, when boiled down to its purest essence, is an enthusiastÂ’s equipment package with some rather dramatic aesthetic components. Rolls-RoyceÂ’s reputation is that of a builder of cars meant to be driven in rather than driven, but Ghost is the de facto “driverÂ’s” four-door in the lineup, and Black Badge is as close to an antidote to that cliche as youÂ’ll find in the company's portfolio. While it is a performance model, Black Badge doesn't completely blow the doors off the Ghost's already-impressive baseline performance. It benefits from an additional 29 horsepower and 57 pound-feet of torque (for a total of 583 hp and 663 lb-ft, respectively) and retuned air springs that “alleviate body roll under more assertive cornering.” The brakes were also tweaked for more immediate response and shorter pedal travel, but the clamps themselves are identical to a standard GhostÂ’s. Put another way, Black Badge is a performance package that happens to cost more than some performance cars. Welcome to tier 0 of car ownership. ThatÂ’s a hollow greeting, of course. Rolls-Royce sold a grand total of 5,586 (ahem) motor cars in 2021, and not one of them is among my permanent collection. YouÂ’re shocked, I know. Statistically, weÂ’re quite likely to be in the same boat. IÂ’m living vicariously through the Rolls-Royce marketing budget and youÂ’re living vicariously through me. Too bad. IÂ’m pretty boring. So boring that the best outing I could come up with was a jaunt to a lake cottage just 30 miles or so north of Detroit proper. Given this carÂ’s price point, youÂ’d be forgiven for insisting that the Ghost had better be able to do just about anything one might expect from modern four-wheeled transportation, but realistically, the person who can afford to be chauffeured in a Black Badge can likely call on other forms of transit should the weather take a turn for the worse.
Rolls-Royce dealer incentive could take $15K off a Cullinan or Ghost
Mon, Jan 8 2024When a carmaker wants last year's models off dealer lots at the beginning of the new year, one standard tactic is to offer incentives either to customers or to dealers. Rolls-Royce is an automaker with last year's models on dealer lots at the beginning of the new year, and on top of that, a refreshed Cullinan and a refreshed Ghost are due later this year. That explains the dealer bulletin Cars Direct said it saw that informs dealers, "Rolls-Royce Motor Cars NA is introducing a Non-FS and Regional Rate Cash Program to stimulate sales and to promote all aging units to be retailed by the end of March 2024." The cash specifics: $15,000 that can be spent on the $375,000 Cullinan and Black Badge Cullinan, as well as the $350,000 Ghost, Ghost Extended and Black Badge Ghost. The "non-FS" part refers to the financial services division, meaning the vehicles in the promotion can't be financed through the automaker's loan department. BMW, Rolls-Royce's parent company, makes this distinction regularly, offering a $9,900 "Non FS Credit" on the XM last November, for instance. In that case, buyers who did finance an XM through BMW Financial were also offered a $9,900 loan credit. No such deal on the English side of the Munich empire. Because this is a factory-to-dealer incentive, dealers don't need to disclose the offer nor give the buyer the benefit even if a buyer knows about it; this is a reward for the storefront for getting the model off the lot at a price the dealer is happy with, not an incentive for a shopper. Don't get the idea that Rolls-Royce shoppers are put off by discounts, though. It's all about the phrasing and the delivery. Dropping $15,000 on the hood would be unthinkable. A dealer asking an interested shopper who's on the fence, "What if I threw in the 21-inch tri-colored pinstripe wheels you want and took $10,000 off?" Well, that's making a deal, and everyone loves making a deal. So if Santa was especially kind, or you were especially naughty and made your own bundle, there's almost three months left to take advantage. According to the bulletin, the program ends March 31, 2024. Related video: 2020 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Tour
Rolls-Royce builds its second Boat Tail, one with a pearl theme
Fri, May 20 2022Last year, Rolls-Royce introduced the stunning Boat Tail custom-built convertible. Even with a rumored cost of around $30 million, the company had three buyers. The second of the three cars has been revealed, and this one is themed around pearls. Apparently the buyer's father harvested pearls, and the buyer runs the business that stemmed from it. So that's where the theme came from, and Rolls-Royce ran with it. The exterior's rosy white paint with white and bronze flake, and the contrasting hood, are based on the oyster shells the buyer provided for inspiration. The rear deck features a walnut veneer with brushed-finish rose gold pinstripes. The Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament is also rose gold-plated. The interior has leather that matches the exterior paint. The center tunnel is again covered in the same walnut veneer as the rear deck. The clock and the gauges feature mother-of-pearl in the faces, and the clock's material came from the buyer's personal collection. As with the other Boat Tail models, the car has a split-opening rear that houses dishes and flatware, as well as an umbrella. The umbrella can be attached to the rear, and fold-out chairs allow the car to be the ultimate outdoor eating location. The entire car is also hand-built with custom aluminum panels. Powertrain details weren't given, though being based on the Phantom, it probably has the same turbocharged V12, eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive as the mainline sedan.
