up for sale is this VERY RARE 1984 ROLLS ROYCE SILVER SPUR LWB. this car has what i believe to be a Hooper coach built adaptation. that being the case she is one of just a handful built. i made an enquiry last friday (7/11/2014) to obtain the factory chassis card (build sheet) and i will have it in hand within the next few days. i will post the results of it here on ebay. she is listed on the CHARLOTTE NC Craigs list and i reserve the right to sell at anytime and close the auction.
what makes me believe the car to be a Hopper is not just the classic Hooper small back glass but also the specially pleated leather door panels and seats and the rear armrest vanity. the car also has a leather covered and interior colored matched gear selector cover. it also sports a high dollar Nardi steering wheel and horn push and very unusual door wood caps. it also has a full set of front and rear lambs wool over rugs. the car starts easily hot or cold and runs well. it has hardly been driven for the last 18 months and so the gas is stale. a gas tank flush, fresh gas and a good tune up will undoubtedly do the old girl the world of good. right now the car will comfortably drive around the neighborhood but she has not seen interstate speeds for awhile. any inspection is welcome and encouraged. she will happily drive onto a transporter and i am happy to get you a quote to have her delivered. you may call or text 864 617 1596 up until 10PM eastern standard time. the brake lights stay on monetarily after the car starts as is usual for these cars and then they both go out. in my opinion it would be a good thing to flush the system and refill with fresh fluid. the tires are almost new with 95% tread left. the oil pressure is very good hot or cold and the car does not run hot even if left idling for 30 minutes or more. there is a half engine speed tick when the engine is cold but this soon dies away so i am sure its just a lifter being slow to pump up after she has sat idle so long. all the lights work and the car has the desirable European oblong single glass headlights. the drivers door PWL just whizzes up and down as do the two rear windows but the front passenger window is sluggish going up. it gets there, its just slow. the heat works very well and works on all its settings except windshield defrost. probably a stepper motor is stuck or has gone bad which would not allow the flaps the switch from dash to windshield. the heat and A/C fans work very well. the A/C will not come on and my opinion is that the unit needs a fresh charge of Freon as the compressor will not cut on. the A/C fans work on all settings but simply blow normal air. the car is VERY VERY solid and apparently has spent most of its life in California. i imagine it was sold new there, we shall see what the chassis card says. there is only one VERY minor drip under the car and this is directly around the oil pan drain plug. it is of not consequence its that minor. the hubcaps are aftermarket and while they suit the car i would want the originals on it. the body is straight apart from a few very minor dings and scratches, see close up pictures. if i were keeping the car i would definitely have it sanded and painted. it needs it. the right outer grill upright has a ding at the top and the left has a tweak at the bottom. the rear bumper horizontal rubber needs to be re painted but it is not all banged up or has pieces knocked out of it. please refer to pictures. the drivers seat works very well in all positions as do both mirrors. the front passenger seat is sometimes slow to respond to the electric toggle switch, probably bad connections. if you have any questions at all or need specific pictures i encourage you to call or better yet stop by and see the car in person. any inspection is welcome and we can put her up on a lift for you so you can have a really good look underneath. Rolls-Royce Ghost gets minor updates for 2013
Thu, 01 Nov 2012Befitting a creature called the Ghost, it was there and then it wasn't: Rolls-Royce dropped a few details and a picture of the 2013 Ghost, then removed all trace of it from the corporate site. The Internet can't keep a secret, though, so we have the goss on a carryover sedan with a few upgrades.
Next year's model takes its inspiration and several new tricks from the Ghost Six Senses concept revealed at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year. The new natural grain leather, cross-banded wood veneers and "exciter" (high-range) speakers come straight from the concept. A new alloy wheel option is also available, but the single press photo doesn't show the same alloys used on the Six Senses car. Not shown in Beijing but on the menu for the coming sedan is Comfort Access, the ability to open the trunk by waving your foot under the rear bumper as long as you have the key on your person. It is the first Rolls-Royce to get the option.
The price gets an upgrade, too, rising $7,050 to $260,750. Part of the increase is in the gas-guzzler tax, which climbed to $2,100 from $1,700 because of a new EPA calculations for fuel economy. As if you'd be worried about gas when you own a Ghost, but just in case, it will return 13 miles per gallon city and 21 mpg highway.
Custom Rolls-Royce Rose Phantom is a private garden party for two

An entrepreneur from Stockholm, Sweden, named Ayad Al Saffar recently commissioned this bespoke Phantom with the dream of being enveloped in an elegant floral arrangement. Using a rose garden at the House of Rolls-Royce as inspiration, designers shaped more than one million embroidered stitches into an entanglement of greenery, flowers, and butterflies. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Muller Otvos calls it the Rose Phantom. Apparently, the person who ordered this Phantom likes flowers so much that he named two of four children after plants. Now, a personal garden goes anywhere the car goes. The custom order was a natural fit in the Phantom, as the Rolls-Royce Rose Garden in Goodwood, West Sussex, is the only place in the world that grows the Phantom Rose, a flower created exclusively for Rolls-Royce by British rose breeder Philip Harkness. The customer's daughter Magnolia chose the Peacock Blue exterior on the Phantom. Embellished with a touch of flair, it has a Charles Blue double pinstripe along the beltline, as do the wheels, which are meant to mimic a floral design. The simple and stately exterior makes the interior stand out all the more. Inside, satin stitch Phantom Roses adorn the doors and the starlight headliner. The design shows the flowers in multiple stages of growth and is intended to portray a floral net spreading throughout the vehicle. Even the driver gets to enjoy the foliage, as the glass-encased dashboard has its own bouquet. A final touch uses Peacock and Adonis Blue butterflies to add a bit of motion to the scene. The cabin scheme inverts the exterior colorway and uses Charles Blue leather Serenity Seating with Peacock Blue piping. Al Saffar says it took him 35 years to achieve his dream of buying a Rolls-Royce.

In fact, the most significant news is the discontinuation of the Phantom VII, while the world (OK, the top 1% of the world) awaits its replacement, with a scheduled debut in 2018. Even with a year of modest updates, Rolls-Royce customers and patrons needn't, as the company's CEO put it, be 'seduced by mass-luxury brands'. DAWN/WRAITH: The convertible and coupe variants of the Ghost platform receive modest updates to trim and available options. Rolls-Royce also introduces a Black Badge variant, targeting – in R-R speak – the 'darker, more assertive, confident and demanding aesthetic of a new ... Rolls-Royce customer'. GHOST: Rolls-Royce's Bespoke service, long a staple among Phantom enthusiasts, has worked its way down the food chain to Ghost prospects. To reluctantly paraphrase Burger King: Have it your way! PHANTOM: As Rolls-Royce prepared for an end-of-the-year build-out of its Phantom, the company built a total of 50 Zenith Edition Coupes and Drophead Coupes, as well as enough sedans to bridge the gap between the Phantom VII's end of production and its 2018 model year launch of its replacement.
