Hello.... What you are looking at here today is an honest, rust free, southern Rolls Royce Silver Spirit in good condition. I own a large factory in the Atlanta area where we build handicapped vans. I also am a serious British car collector (primarily Jaguars). Once in a while someone trades in a car on one of our handicapped vans. This Rolls is a local car that has been loved and used by it's elderly owner until a couple years ago when it became hard for them to drive, so with teary eyes they said, "goodbye" to their beloved 1984 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit. We allowed him $15,000 on trade for this car. Even at that it was hard for them to let go. This car has been maintained properly by a local British mechanic that I know. This car starts and runs great... Both brake pressure lights go out soon after car starts....Yes, I said it.. The low pressure lights actually go out. This means something to anyone who knows these cars. The height correctors work properly and all electric windows and things work as they should. The AC blows cold and car has a nice upgraded stereo with CD changer in it and power antennae works properly. This car has NEVER seen salt and has not been wrecked. It has just had a new rear window gasket installed and I do have the rear stainless trim piece which is excellent. I mention all these details because a Rolls that has done nothing but sit can be a money pit. This car has been used and cared for by someone who understands them so it is light years ahead of a car that has 16 idiots and no nothing car mechanics messing it up. I have had several of these cars over the years and in fact my wife drove one just like this for nearly 5 years with good results. As I said, this is a Good, Honest, car with many many miles left on it. Engine sounds sweet and trans shifts positively....Here's the thing....I've already got too many cars and my sons who help run our business don't want me taking up anymore space, soooo This car WILL BE SOLD. It is going at no reserve.....But, I will tell you now. Unless you have an ebay score of at least 5 and NO Negative feedback. (DO NOT BID ON THIS ONE) because I will cancel your bid immediately. I'm sorry to be so harsh but I am sick of wasting time with people who bid, then decide...Please do not bid unless you can follow thru. If someone wants to step up, the car can be bought for $7800. I did not put a buy it now price as people push those for fun and it stops your auction immediately. Look at my feedback history..I am a serious car-guy and this is a great value for somebody who wants an affordable Rolls that works. HAPPY BIDDING AND GOOD LUCK... Bob |

The hottest modern sports cars rendered as rally racers
Thu, Jan 14 2016The modern-day World Rally Championship a monumental amount of fun to watch – I should know, as I recently was lucky enough to head to the UK to watch WRC Wales Rally GB – but even the most monstrous of the current WRC cars are based on fairly pedestrian European hatchbacks. Back in the heyday of rally, the Group B era in the 1980s, much hotter cars were the basis of even more incredible competition machines, for the most part. Take the exotic Ford RS200, or the Lancia Delta S4 with its twin-charged engine. And the hatchback-based Group B cars were bonkers, too. So what would some of our favorite modern cars look like if Group B had never ended? A British site named CarWow hired an artist to reimagine everything from the Rolls-Royce Wraith to the Porsche 911 as a retro-inspired rally car, and they were kind enough to let us share the results in the gallery above. The gallery features an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Martini livery, an Audi TT in classic Ur-Quattro colors, a Fiat 500 Abarth sporting massive flares and a hood blister full of auxiliary lights, a new Ford Mustang in RS200 livery, a Lancia Delta in Alitalia colors, a Porsche 911 in Rothmans livery, a Renault-Alpine in classic blue, a Rolls-Royce Wraith tribute to the Jules cologne Corniche Coupe, and a relatively modern-looking VW Touran. So far, the favorite around the office is the incredible Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is an homage to the wonderful 300 SEL 6.8 AMG "Red Pig" that essentially put AMG on the map. Check out the gallery above and see which one you like the best. Related Video:
Grey Poupon to air new version of famous Rolls-Royce ad, this time with car chase [w/video]
Wed, 20 Feb 2013Grey Poupon mustard will revive the concept behind its famous Pardon Me commercials with a new ad that will air only once on television during this Sunday's broadcast of the Academy Awards.
The original spot, which showed two one-percenters sharing the condiment between their Rolls-Royces at an intersection, first aired all the way back in 1981, and variations of it continued up through 1997. Kraft, owner of the Grey Poupon brand, is hoping that reviving the commercial will boost sagging sales and raise the mustard's profile with a younger generation of fancy folk.
So why are we talking about this on Autoblog? Because the new version of the ad won't end with a polite passing of the bottle. Rather, we're told a car chase ensues when the Grey Poupon's owner doesn't get it back. We're assuming the two cars in question will again be a pair of Rolls-Royce sedans, probably Phantoms unless they go with more vintage model years.
Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe does some performance testing at N"urburgring
Wed, 10 Oct 2012While all the gory details surrounding the new Rolls-Royce coupe - including its true name, "Corniche" is just a savory-sounding best guess right now - are still shrouded in mystery, this new set of clandestinely foraged images proves that the car probably won't be a slouch in terms of performance.
The Ghost-based Roller was spotted on the Nürburgring Nordschleife recently, demonstrating its sporting chops at the same time it was showing off it's impressive patrician nose. Expectations are that, when the new coupe is shown off for real at the Geneva Motor Show in March of next year, that nose will belong to the fastest production car to ever wear the Spirit of Ecstasy.
Indications are that the Corniche will be rocking a turbocharged V12, making in the ballpark of 600 horsepower, and using an eight-speed transmission.
