Offered is my hardly used 1976 Rolls Silver Shadow - Wraith II, it is a very desirable color commination of Black with Black Ever-Flex top, and red Leather interior. The Rolls is rust free, has her original paint that still shines with little buffing. The leather is nice original with no tears, wood door caps are useable, but could stand to be refinished to really glow. The Rolls was purchased from a Southern California original owner's estate in 2004, had been in storage since 1998. There are original receipts totaling over $8,500. for brake work, air-conditioning and general maintenance, all performed less than 200 miles before the Rolls was put into storage. I only state this because over the 10 years I've owned the Rolls it has only been driven less than 500 miles. I bought it on a impulse and never felt comfortable driving it, and now I've lost my lease on the garage downtown. It has not been started for over 2 yrs. This exploding Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is angering, mesmerizing
Sun, 19 Oct 2014Between Las Vegas and the emirates of the Persian Gulf, we're sure there are Rolls-Royces to be found in the desert all the time. And we don't doubt that, given those locations, one gets torched every so often. There'd probably even be someone in a tuxedo or evening gown running for cover when it happens, too. The thing is that we're seldom if ever there to watch it go down, much less capture it in stunning high-definition, frame-by-frame video when it does.
That's where this four-minute clip by Tyler Shields comes in. The American photographer and filmmaker staged and captured this Silver Shadow being doused in gasoline (or at least what we're supposed to believe is gasoline) and set afire in the Mojave Desert, along with actor Cru Ennis and actress Ana Mulvoy-Ten.
It's heartbreaking but mesmerizing, and you'll want to watch the video for yourself to see which side you fall on. If it's the former, take solace at least in the fact that the Silver Shadow is far from a rare beast. In fact, it remains by far the most prolific Rolls-Royce ever, with over 30,000 made between 1965 and 1980... so we doubt this one will be missed terribly.
On this Rolls Ghost, diamonds are forever in the paint
Mon, Mar 6 2017Diamonds, the hardest rocks in the world, are found in everything from jewelry to tools – and now automotive paint. Rolls-Royce, a company happy to help paying customers indulge in one-of-a-kind, specially customized cars, has produced a long-wheelbase Ghost with a paint job featuring 1,000 crushed diamonds. It's called "Elegance," which seems like a pretty fitting name. One thing is for sure, the paint is dazzling in these photos. So the two months Rolls-Royce spent testing diamond paint finishes seem to have paid off. The rest of the car is a bit more run-of-the-mill Rolls-Royce, which is to say still pretty custom. It has hand-painted coachlines in red and black along the flanks, and the 21-inch wheels have matching red pinstripes. The color scheme is continued inside. Up front, everything is black, from the leather seats to the wool carpets. The sea of black is punctuated by red stitching and piping on the seats, as well as open-pore oak wood trim on the dash. In the back, the seats are a lighter gray leather with the same red stitching and piping. Our favorite part, though, is the plaid upholstery that lines the space in the front seats into which the rear tray tables fold.
