Finished in2-tone Shell Grey over Masons black with an elegant combination of red & blackfine lines to the waist-rails and hub cap beauty rings. The interior hashandsome rich burgundy Connolly hides and matching carpets. The same themecarries through to the boot. The Silver Shadow II was the ultimate of the Shadowseries with many engineering upgrades to include rack & pinion steering, revisedsuspension geometry for a surer ride, factory dual (quiet) exhaust, climatecontrol air conditioning and a revised dash board lay-out. This is an veryoriginal unmolested example that has been beautifully maintained and presents inexcellent condition. A southern state Rolls-Royce all its life so it is a“dry” car that has had a garaged environment. As a result, it has been freedfrom the perils of harsh weather and is very clean underneath. It has alwaysbeen well maintained and serviced and comes with its original manual, keys andtools.Important costly items such as the hydraulics and brakes are fully inspected andserviced as required. This includes brake pumps, accumulators and checking ofall brake hoses and system pressure tested and bled. It is ready to drive andenjoy. The odometer shows a low 44,800 and although this is not verifiable withdocumentation, there can be no question it is accurate (particularly when youlook at the condition of the interior, under-hood, brake pedal etc)

Rolls-Royce goes glam, celebrates Art Deco heritage in Paris
Thu, 27 Sep 2012Rolls-Royce has used the 2012 Paris Motor Show to pull the covers off its art deco-inspired Phantom saloon, Phantom Drophead Coupé and Ghost models. These three bespoke machines are said to pay homage to the 1925 Paris Exhibition or Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. Not coincidentally, the phrase 'art deco' was coined at that very show.
These three models are finished in period-correct color schemes and feature details that include mother of pearl and silver inlays and ornamental glassware. According to Giles Taylor, Design Director Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, "Art Deco was defined by theatre, glamour and a sense of excitement. Working to create contemporary interpretations of these classic themes has been enormously rewarding for everyone in my bespoke design team." But of course.
Feel free to check out our live gallery of high-res images above along with the official shots released by Rolls-Royce below. There's also a press release or two waiting for your prying eyes, if you're so inclined.
Rolls-Royce debuts Phantom Drophead Coupe Waterspeed Collection
Tue, 13 May 2014For the next act in its Bespoke Collection, Rolls-Royce has found one of its own to celebrate with the Phantom Drophead Coupé Waterspeed Collection, noting the achievements of British land and water record-holder Sir Malcolm Campbell. Like a few other racers of his era in the 1920s and 1930s, Campbell used his Bluebird Motor Company and Bluebird Garage to fund his interest in motorsports. He would break the waterspeed record in 1937 in his Bluebird K3 powered by a Rolls-Royce R engine, traveling 126.33 miles per hour on Italy's Lake Maggiore.
We've seen sketches of what Rolls-Royce intended with the Waterspeed Collection, and the real thing is just as handsome, and the new model includes a number of firsts for the marque. The Maggiore Blue exterior paint is also used for highlights on the engine, the polished wheels, two-tone steering wheel and the dashboard. The tonneau cover normally finished in teak is instead done in hand-finished brushed steel, a closer contrast to the Windchill Grey interior. The Abachi wood veneers have also been bookmatched so that their grain evokes the wake of a speeding boat.
The droptop will be shown first at the Bluebird Garage Cafe in London on the site of the original garage, after which it will get its first wider showing at the Concorso D'Eleganza at Villa D'Este later this month. The press release below has a lot more detail on the finer detailing of the Drophead Coupe Waterspeed, and the images above are worth at least 8,000 words.
Rolls-Royce shows off commemorative Silver Ghost — with actual silver
Thu, Aug 16 2018Ultra-luxury marque Rolls-Royce has been busy developing its ultra-exclusive, 35-model Silver Ghost Collection in homage to the original 40/50-horsepower Silver Ghost from 1907 that traveled a then-remarkable 14,371 miles. Now it has released a video to show off its opulent new creation. Rolls-Royce says it incorporated visual elements from the original Ghost in the new four-door model. Most obvious is the car's silver paint scheme, with a hand-painted coachline that takes eight hours to apply and contains pure silver particles. There's also a solid silver Sprit of Ecstasy hood ornament (remember those?) with an AX201-stamped hammered-copper hallmark at its base, which harks back to the maiden car's registration plate and the material that featured extensively in the original car's engine bay. The video also shows off the black grille vanes, chrome wheel surrounds engraved with the phrase "Silver Ghost — Since 1907," open-pore tudor oak trim with silver inlays. The front fascias get a more protruding grille frame with inset grille, plus redesigned wheels. Inside, the cars get Forest Green leather to match the original, with limited edition stamps on the door jambs and dashboard clock, plus improved sound deadening with the addition of special acoustic glass. There's also lots of running footage of the Silver Ghost navigating a pastoral lane. It's decidedly heady stuff for most of us common folk, indeed. View 5 Photos Related Video:
