This 1978 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II has been in my family since 1985. It was only driving about 5,000 miles while only being used as a weekend and parade car. It sits with 87,044 miles on the odo. This car was in an accident with a deer in 2006 I believe.  The front end body work was damaged and repaired and the front half of the car was repainted. This car has been sitting for the last 6 years or so. It was garaged most if its life, until about 2 years ago. After sitting for so long the brakes have become faulty, the 2 Brake Pressure light is on as shown in the pictures. It has no brake pressure, this is a known problem with these cars. Other than the motor still runs very strong. The transmission shifts good, and differential is in good shape. The power seats work, Power windows work, Power locks work,Power steering all gauges are in working order. This car would drive like a dream if only the brakes were fixed.

The Exterior of the car has suffered from being outside these last couple of years. The top and rear of the car has suffered from weathering as seen in the pictures. No cracks in any of the windows. All door handles work. As for as the Interior the seats were redyed red many years ago and after sitting for year it has dried from not being treat and is has started to peel and crack. The carpet is still in good condition and just needs a little vacuuming. The trunk of the car had a rug in it that got damp and now the fibers of the rug intertwined in the carpets fibers. I believe this could be fixed with a thorough cleaning in would look pretty good again. The original car jack is still in place. The trunk cargo area has had some old rags and cleaners and parts of the carpet has suffer from that. The headliner inside the car is still in good condition and not draping.

This car is being sold at rough value . I wish i had the time and the means to get her up and going at her showroom condition. It still a beautiful car to look at as it sits now. It needs a good home with some that can spend a little time with her. So it time to pass it on, I have a Clean and Clear title in hand.  If you have any question please don't hesitate to ask.

Ex-Rolls-Royce design chief Ian Cameron killed at home

Tue, Jul 16 2024

Former Rolls-Royce design chief Ian Cameron, the man who oversaw the automaker's design renaissance with the Phantom and Ghost ranges, was stabbed to death at his home in Bavaria (translated) on July 12. German newspaper reports have identified a suspect via surveillance camera (translated) whom police say is the killer. Apparently, the man went shopping at a store less than a mile from Cameron's house, then changed clothes and showed up at Cameron's door. A surveillance image before the suspect gets to the house shows him wearing the items that neighbors described, notably light pants, a dark blue hoodie, a red backpack and "yellow-green gloves." Someone reportedly cut the wires on the home security system, the suggestion being that the suspect or someone else involved had cased the house for at least a few days. It's said the killer rang the doorbell, attacking as soon as Cameron opened the front door, stabbing the designer to death. Verena Kloos, Cameron's wife, escaped to a neighbor's house and called police. This is a bizarre incident. Reports have floated the motivation that the killer wanted one of the vehicles in Cameron's car collection at the Bavarian property. Instead of going after a car, though, the killer ran off in his distinctive outfit, staying in the open long enough for neighbors to give a detailed description. He then changed clothes and ditched the backpack on a lakeside promenade not far from Cameron's house. Strangest of all, the man apparently left the clothes near the backpack, and the backpack contained items the man had bought during his shopping trip before the murder.  At the time of writing, police are searching throughout Germany but haven't caught the suspect. With a clear picture and a likely trove of DNA evidence, authorities have excellent leads. Anyone who can help is asked to get in touch with the Furstenfeldbruck Criminal Investigation Department at (+49) 8.14.16.120. Cameron's career started at Pininfarina in 1975, culminating in a greatest hits of designs while at BMW. He has exterior design of the third-generation Range Rover on his resume, as well as the BMW Z8. It was Cameron's Phantom, though, that helped create an entirely new Rolls-Royce after BMW bought the brand. CEO Chris Brownridge wrote on LinkedIn that "Ian played a significant role in shaping Rolls-Royce from when it was first acquired by BMW Group and moved to its home at Goodwood, West Sussex.

eBay Find of the Day: Andy Warhol's 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow

Sun, 25 May 2014

Andy Warhol is one of the most recognizable artists of the 20th Century. With hits like his famous Campbell's soup cans and Marilyn Monroe portraits, he is likely the first name you think of in association with the pop art movement. He isn't known for being an auto enthusiast, though, but maybe that's not entirely the case - there was his BMW M1 art car, after all. Now, Warhol's 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is up for auction on eBay Motors.
According the seller, Warhol never had a driver's license, but he still wanted to own a luxurious car. It's claimed that he occasionally had his famous friends, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, chauffeur him around in the Rolls. Following Warhol's death in 1987, the car was auctioned for $77,000, and since then it has only been sold to one additional owner.
The Rolls is painted Walnut and Mason's Black, which appears closer to a shade of brown in these photos, with a black leather interior. The engine is the company's' popular 6.75-liter V8 with a three-speed automatic transmission, and there are just 56,000 miles on this luxurious classic. The seller is including copies of original purchase order from Rolls-Royce and the title to Warhol Enterprises to prove the famous artist's ownership of the car, plus all of its service records.

Rolls-Royce Phantom to soldier on through 2020?

Tue, 12 Nov 2013

The more a car costs, the less frequently it's replaced - usually. Take, for example, the Bugatti Veyron. It's one of the most expensive cars on the market, and it's been there for eight years now. Eleven years passed in between the launch of the Ferrari Enzo and that of its successor LaFerrari. Now comes word that the Rolls-Royce Phantom could stick around essentially unchanged until the year 2020.
The report comes from LeftLaneNews, which cites Rolls-Royce communications chief Richard Carter in stating that the Phantom isn't going anywhere fast - despite its massive 6.75-liter V12 engine. The Phantom is the car that essentially relaunched the brand under BMW ownership way back in 2003. It has since spawned long-wheelbase, coupe and convertible models, and underwent a few minor upgrades in 2009. It may yet get another series of enhancements before it's replaced entirely, but don't expect anything drastic within the next half-dozen years or so.
For what it's worth, Rolls-Royce has other things to focus on, and we don't just mean an endless parade of special editions and one-offs for emerging luxury markets in Asia. After launching the Ghost, the company followed up with the Wraith coupe and is said to have a convertible version in the works. An SUV is reportedly under consideration, as is a sixteen-cylinder roadster. But that's not even why the Goodwood-based automaker is stretching out the Phantom's lifecycle like it did its wheelbase: the average Phantom buyer pays a good half million for their new ride, and they wouldn't be too happy to see it replaced quite so soon.
