1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Original Condition!! 83k Original Miles!! Full Service Records!! No Reserve!! Rolls
Royce was formed over a simple lunch attended by Henry Royce and Charles Rolls
back in 1904 and has evolved into one of the most luxurious cars every
produced. Seeing a Rolls Royce is quite
a sight. It’s almost as time stands
still as it passes by you. Driving in a
Rolls ignites senses you almost forget were there. It puts you in a state of mind that resembles
royalty. Owning a Rolls is a summation
of all your life’s accomplishments. It’s a combination of all the smart
business decisions you’ve made and that every investment you chose was spot
on. It’s a measurement of your worth,
not in numbers, but in a stature only described Rolls Royce. When owning a Rolls, make sure you move the
Benz to the driveway and the Cadillac to the street, because the Rolls deserves
the best seat in the house. In the
garage. Driving by an elaborate house
with the garage door open and a Rolls Royce facing you resting, is like the
period at the end of the sentence, it sums it all up. This 1977 Rolls
Royce Silver Shadow offered here today is a symbol of what luxury was all about
in the 70’s. Real wood, strong stance,
plush carpet, v8 power and the ability to take up a lot of real estate. Please read on about this beautiful car and view
the many pictures and video that is provided to help depict the true condition
of this vehicle. Our lines of
communication are open so do not hesitate to contact concerning this car or any
other car we offer. Thank you.
Exterior: As
you can see from the pictures this Rolls Royce appears very nice. And it is very nice from a distance. Unfortunately the original lacquer paint has
checked and cracked. As a driver the car
is fine as it sits however, if you wanted to show the car and win trophies with
it you will have to have it stripped and painted. The body itself is very solid and rust
free. It appears very straight and
solid. All the glass is intact along
with all the lights, marker lights and signals.
The chrome is in excellent original condition. The tires are fairly new and all the original
hubcaps are in excellent original condition.
The Rolls Royce grill and flying lady are in excellent original
condition and are hard to find intact.
The car was driven 83k miles and I would presume it was enjoyed every
mile of that. If you’re looking for a
great, easy project of a vintage Silver Shadow this could be the one. Please look at the pictures and let us know
of any questions. Interior: The
interior of this car is absolutely luxurious.
It is in excellent original condition.
Aside from the real wood trim cracking in areas(common) the interior is
in excellent condition. All the gauges
including the radio work as they should.
All power windows work as they should as well. The power seat motors engage but struggle
moving up or back. The motors for the
seats are easily accessed and are very fixable.
The foot rests are intact in the rear and are in excellent
condition. The fabric for the headliner
and seats are also in excellent original condition. The carpet has been protected and is very
plush. Please look at the pictures and
let us know of any questions you may have.
Drivetrain: The
drivetrain is the original 412 CID Rolls Royce drivetrain. Runs very strong and smooth. The transmission shifts as it should and all
belts, tires, hoses, suspension, power steering and brake linings are all road
worthy. There are plenty of maintenance
records that are included with the sale.
It is apparent that when you drive this car you can see it has been meticously
maintained through the years. Please ask
us any questions you may have let us know.
If you want us to fax you the service records just give us your number,

Ugur Sahin returns with Rolls Royce Jonckheere Aerodynamic Coupe II design
Sat, 15 Dec 2012The "Round Door" Rolls-Royce Phantom I Aerodynamic Coupe (inset) is a magnificent black beast of a car (and you can see it at the Petersen Automotive Museum for a limited time) as well as a mystery: designed by the Jonckheere Works in Belgium in 1935, all records for the one-of-a-kind coupe were destroyed in World War II, so no one knows who designed it or who commissioned it. What remains of the original coachbuilding company now makes bodies for cars and buses, and has asked designer Ugur Sahin to reinterpret the most fabulous car from its history.
We've written about Sahin often before, recently about his Corvette-based Anandi being shown at Top Marques Monaco and going into production. For a man who favors long hoods and short bodies, this particular Rolls-Royce couldn't be better. Sahin says the word "Respect" guided his lines for the 77-year-old car, the most apparent changes being the front fender treatment, the headlights dropping into the fenders, and the serious downsizing of the fin at the rear. Sahin says that there are talks with potential investors about building a one-off.
You can find out a little more about it in the press release below, and check out the gallery above of high-res images for every angle.
A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Waterspeed Collection is a real land yacht
Mon, 18 Aug 2014There aren't very many better places to show the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé Waterspeed Collection than at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Not only is this aquatic-themed land yacht parked on the Concept Car Lawn appropriately very near the Pacific Ocean, it's being seen by some of the most wealthy car enthusiasts in the world on one afternoon.
The car actually debuted in May in Europe, but Rolls-Royce decided to show it again to West Coast customers. This luxury droptop is dedicated to former British waterspeed record-holder Sir Malcolm Campbell, hence the name. Campbell used a boat powered by a Rolls-Royce R engine to reach 126.33 miles per hour in 1937 on a lake in Italy and break the old milestone. Later, he took the same craft to 129.5 mph to further establish his dominance.
The Phantom Waterspeed takes inspiration from these accomplishments with a two-tone look that mixes shining Maggiore Blue exterior paint and a brushed steel tonneau cover to replace the normal teak. The blue color scheme even extends to the engine and interior trim in combination with contrasting Windchill Grey leather. Rolls isn't building many of these marine-inspired leviathans; check one out on the lawn at Pebble Beach in our gallery.
