1986 Rolls Royce Corniche Ii Beautiful Dry Rust Free Western Vehicle Low Miles on 2040-cars
Naples, Florida, United States
This Rolls Royce Corniche II was originally purchased at Beverly Hills Rolls Royce. It has a West coast history before being acquired and sold by Daniel Schmitt Co, a renowned Rolls sales business, in 2007. Car sold for well North of $60K. Its still found on their website. This car came to South Florida in 2007 and has resided here ever since. The body, paint are beautiful. It shines like glass. The underbody has no signs of corrosion. The top is excellent with the exception of a cloudy back window. The interior shows some effects of the California sun, with one seam split on passenger side. Wood is good and dash is fine. Interior and exterior brightwork is excellent. Rugs are good but trunk mat has stain. Pedals are perfect showing no wear indication low mileage but car is sold without mileage certification. State of Florida calls it exempt. During the last seven years much work was done to keep it in good order. More needs to be done in a few areas. The car starts, runs down the road like a Rolls should, but smokes at idle once heated up. It is very sporadic. The convertible top does not retract perfectly. Car leaves a spot or two on the garage floor. The AC works but the high fan does not come on. This rare Crewe built Corniche is perhaps the best investment one could make at the present time and finding an example this solid is unusual. My reserve is quite low allowing for necessary sorting of issues described above. Please do not tamper with this auction by withdrawing your bid within 24 hours of the auctions end. I am not a Rolls expert and cannot give accurate advice on these cars. I reserve the right to end auction early for any reason. I will not reveal reserve. Car is sold as is where is but I will keep safe and secure while you arrange shipping. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. I am a longtime Ebayer and take my auctions very seriously. Bidders expected to do the same. Thank you. All original manuals and tools are present.

The UK votes for Brexit and it will impact automakers
Fri, Jun 24 2016It's the first morning after the United Kingdom voted for what's become known as Brexit – that is, to leave the European Union and its tariff-free internal market. Now begins a two-year process in which the UK will have to negotiate with the rest of the EU trading bloc, which is its largest export market, about many things. One of them may be tariffs, and that could severely impact any automaker that builds cars in the UK. This doesn't just mean companies that you think of as British, like Mini and Jaguar. Both of those automakers are owned by foreign companies, incidentally. Mini and Rolls-Royce are owned by BMW, Jaguar and Land Rover by Tata Motors of India, and Bentley by the VW Group. Many other automakers produce cars in the UK for sale within that country and also export to the EU. Tariffs could damage the profits of each of these companies, and perhaps cause them to shift manufacturing out of the UK, significantly damaging the country's resurgent manufacturing industry. Autonews Europe dug up some interesting numbers on that last point. Nissan, the country's second-largest auto producer, builds 475k or so cars in the UK but the vast majority are sent abroad. Toyota built 190k cars last year in Britain, of which 75 percent went to the EU and just 10 percent were sold in the country. Investors are skittish at the news. The value of the pound sterling has plummeted by 8 percent as of this writing, at one point yesterday reaching levels not seen since 1985. Shares at Tata Motors, which counts Jaguar and Land Rover as bright jewels in its portfolio, were off by nearly 12 percent according to Autonews Europe. So what happens next? No one's terribly sure, although the feeling seems to be that the jilted EU will impost tariffs of up to 10 percent on UK exports. It's likely that the UK will reciprocate, and thus it'll be more expensive to buy a European-made car in the UK. Both situations will likely negatively affect the country, as both production of new cars and sales to UK consumers will both fall. Evercore Automotive Research figures the combined damage will be roughly $9b in lost profits to automakers, and an as-of-yet unquantified impact on auto production jobs. Perhaps the EU's leaders in Brussels will be in a better mood in two years, and the process won't devolve into a trade war. In the immediate wake of the Brexit vote, though, the mood is grim, the EU leadership is angry, and investors are spooked.
Rolls-Royce just unveiled the Rolls-Royce of picnic baskets
Wed, Aug 17 2016While automakers such as Cadillac and Koenigsegg have prepared debuts for full-size automobiles at Pebble Beach this week, Rolls-Royce has decided this will be the perfect occasion to unveil a picnic basket. That being said, this picnic basket is fully up to Rolls-Royce standards. And that's important because when you take your Rolls out for an al fresco lunch, a plain old blanket and an Igloo cooler simply won't do. There will only be 50 of these baskets made and they will accompany the final 50 Phantom Coupes and Drophead Coupes. Each is crafted from American walnut wood and leather that is coordinated with its accompanying car's exterior color. The basket also has milled aluminum hinges with the debut locations of the cars' concept predecessors. Because of course it does. View 11 Photos The basket is equipped with only the finest dining wares including a walnut cutting board, Rolls-Royce embroidered napkins, and stainless steel cutlery. Then there's the genuine lead crystal wine glasses and dishes with details in black paint and platinum. Obviously silver or gold wouldn't cut it. The basket will be shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this weekend. So if you're there and are wondering why a picnic basket is being so prominently displayed, now you'll know. Rolls-Royce releases another shadowy look at new Wraith
Tue, 12 Feb 2013Rolls-Royce has dropped a third teaser for its upcoming coupe that we'll be seeing in a few weeks at the Geneva Motor Show. A couple of weeks ago, we saw the 2014 Rolls-Royce Wraith in a shadowy profile shot, and now we're getting an (admittedly limited) idea of what the rear of the car will look like.
As suggested by a recent set of spy shots, the 2014 Wraith should have a rear-end styling very similar - if not identical - to the Rolls-Royce Ghost, which this car is a coupe version of. In typical Rolls-Royce fashion, the British automaker promises that this new model will deliver plenty of power, style and drama, though it's declining to get more specific about what that power is (other than to say it will be "more than ample"). We have no indication that the engine won't be the 563-horsepower, 6.6-liter V8 that's in the Ghost, but we'll have to wait until next month to find out for sure.
