I strongly recommend buying Porsche certified preowned. There are many expensive things that will break on these
cars and with the Porsche warranty I have been covered. Clock quit working, front end squeaked, little string
holding up the rear cargo cover broke, overhead console appeared loose, radio software needed updating... No matter
what petty complaint I had, my Porsche dealer set an appointment, gave me a loaner car, fixed the issue, and sent
me on my way with no money out of pocket. Independent used car sellers claim "certified" but cannot offer a Porsche
Factory warranty; only a franchised dealer or an individual whose car is CPO selling to another individual can
offer the CPO warranty.
I have owned this car a year and have enjoyed driving it. It's the first car I've hand-washed since I was in my
early 20s! I really hate having to sell the car. Several people have asked "why are you selling after only a year?"
Here goes: I have an 8-year-old son. I found out he was teasing children at school about the cars their fathers
drive. While I did have the talk about "stuff does not make the person.

Porsche Cayman S and Caterham 7 go head to head on the drag strip
Fri, 27 Jun 2014We recently saw the standard Porsche Cayman go up against a Subaru WRX STI in a one-mile drag race with surprising results. Apparently, Evo had a similar idea of evaluating the Cayman's quickness. However, it opted for the more powerful S model and chose a flyweight Caterham Roadsport 140 as the challenger. Will the results of this battle be as close at the end of the kilometer-long (0.62-mile) drag?
Neither of these are cars you'd usually associate with drag racing, but they are nearly evenly matched. Evo selected them based on power-to-weight ratio, with the Caterham offering a scant 140 horsepower in a lithe 1,213-pound package. The Porsche is a quite svelte 2,910 pounds but has 325 hp to haul it around.
Of course, power-to-weight ratio isn't everything. There are a ton of other variables like aerodynamics and gearing that play a huge role, as well. Can the little Caterham's weight advantage overcome the better aero and additional power of the Porsche? Scroll down watch the video and find out.
2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S
Wed, 04 Sep 2013A Wicked-Fast Street Legal Multi-Tool
Walter Röhrl was carving up the circuit in the Porsche 911 Turbo S like a skilled Jedi Master - and I was sitting next to him, mesmerized by the breathtaking show. I had strapped myself securely into the front passenger bucket of the all-new coupe less than a minute earlier, expecting nothing more than a few quick laps around a track at the hands of another celebrated race driver. Been there, done that. Many times, actually.
Yet this was different. Röhrl was not only calculated and methodical in his approach, but his rally-tuned cerebrum appeared to be actively reading available grip levels while effortlessly tossing the all-wheel-drive Porsche into each corner at gut-wrenching speeds. His hands were moving rapidly, sending tiny steering corrections to the front tires, and he was using every inch of the track to extract more speed. We launched over a curb, dropped a wheel in the dirt and then drifted around a wide off-camber turn. His human precision and focus was astounding, and the performance he was extracting from the machine was just short of breathtaking.
This Porsche 356 family keeps it outlaw
Wed, 29 Oct 2014Rod Emory was the founder of Emory Motorsports in Burbank, CA, and the scion to a family tradition of building "outlaw" Porsches that are almost as cool as the cars themselves. The lovingly modified Porsche 356s are lovely artifacts, and their story, along with the story of their builders, is pitch-perfect for the Petrolicious oeuvre of beloved classics.
Tune in for the history lesson, and then stick around for the car candy.
