Up for auction is a 2006 Porsche Cayman S that we just finished. This Porsche Cayman was a theft recovery. Items replaced include the front bumper assembly and fender liners. The airbags did not deploy on this unit because it was not involved in an accident. The car had matte green vinyl wrap on it when we purchased it from the auction. We removed the wrap but in some locations the wrap had bled into the paint so we had the entire car repainted and it looks awesome. This vehicle was repaired professionally and all the fitment gaps are correct. This car only has 25k miles so its is practically new. All the necessary safety inspections have been performed and the alignment is at factory standards. It runs, drives and looks excellent as a Porsche with only 25k miles should. Some of the interior pieces have been covered with a faux carbon fiber wrap (non factory) and the heater control knobs have some wear (typical) for these cars. The car has H&R coil-over suspension and 20 inch SSR 3 piece wheels. It also is fitted with a Borla cat back exhaust system so its louder than stock but fits the car nicely. Title: We have a California Salvage certificate on this Porsche and that included with a bill of sale will be given in case of export to another country. If the vehicle is to be registered in California, we are obligated to turn the salvage certificate in to DMV and they issue the vehicle a number referred to as an Acquisition number. This number on a bill of sale along with the necessary safety and smog certificated will be given to the buyer. We are also obligated to collect sales tax on the vehicle at the time of sale. This process takes 7-10 working days to complete. If the vehicle is sold to a buyer outside of California, in our experience it is far easier to register a salvage vehicle by registering a car to the new buyer which is referred to as a California Title Only. We will have to turn the title in as above and we will register the vehicle to the new buyer and California DMV will mail the title directly to the registered buyer. At the time of registration, the vehicle will be able to be arranged to be transported by certified transport company to an address outside of California. This process also takes 7-10 working days. The vehicle will need to be transported across state line to avoid paying sales tax. Please contact your dmv to find out the requirements for your state before bidding. Some states its just as easy to register with just the salvage certificate and a bill of sale. Here are all the EVs with 800V charging available in 2024
Fri, May 31 2024As technology advances, electric cars are improving their fast-charging times. That means less time spent waiting at a DC public charger when you’re out on the road. While Level 3 chargers used to provide a maximum of 150 kilowatts of power, 350-kW chargers are become more common, making for super-fast charging Â… if your car is capable of taking advantage of it. So how do automakers improve the charging speed of their EV batteries? Some are turning to higher voltage, specifically 800V charging. What's the difference between 800-volt charging and 400-volt charging? So how does 800V charging improve upon the more common 400V EVs? Put simply, the higher the voltage, the less amperage (current) it requires to charge. In other words, with more voltage, you get more wattage (power, aka charge rate) from the same amperage (current). 800V architecture is also more efficient, with less electrical resistance, so it can use thinner cables and smaller, lighter components while needing less cooling. The tradeoff is that it is more costly, and guess who that cost gets passed on to. While automakers don't break down their pricing to show how much more you're paying for that 800V system, you'll just have to evaluate any potential purchases as a whole, and make your decision based on overall pricing of the vehicle. Thankfully, the 800V EVs on sale now are generally ones we like. Now, 800V charging capability doesn't necessarily mean an EV has 800V vehicle architecture. For instance, the GMC Hummer EV and Chevy Silverado EV operate at 400V, but with their dual battery packs, can switch to 800V when charging by temporarily connecting those packs in series. Currently, there are only a handful of EVs available with 800V charging. But if you are going to find yourself taking longer trips in your EV and using DC fast chargers more often, you might want to consider choosing one with this faster charging capability. Porsche looks back on very first 911 Turbo
Wed, 11 Jun 2014Porsche has really hit on a winning formula with its series of videos going inside its vault. So far, we've seen the V8 911 prototype, mid-engine test mule and aerodynamic prototype. The company is sticking with the 911 theme in the latest entry, but this time it's an actual production car - the very first 911 Turbo ever made.
Being the first Turbo would make it important enough, but the car was also a birthday present for Louise Piëch, daughter of Ferdinand Porsche and sister to Ferry Porsche, and she regularly used the car. The family didn't just hand her a random car off the assembly line, either. She got to make it her own with some interesting modifications. She supposedly even painted landscapes from inside the car.
You have to wonder what Piëch thought of her present. The early Turbos had a reputation for being a bit of a handful to drive. The boost tended to bring the power all at once, which wasn't always welcome when cornering. She deserves some honor just for driving the car on the curvy, alpine roads. Next-gen Porsche Panamera snapped running in E-Hybrid spec
Tue, May 12 2015The Porsche Panamera first debuted back in 2009 and underwent a facelift in 2013. That means the all-new, next-generation Panamera should be arriving in time for the 2017 model year, and here were have our first look at its plug-in hybrid variant. Following the last prototype spotted undergoing cold-weather testing in Sweden, this new Panamera test mule spotted in southern Europe appears to be running the E-Hybrid powertrain setup – judging, at least, by the presence of a second filler cap hiding what's likely an charging port on the left side rear fender. We'll just have to sit tight, however, to find out whether it will be packing an evolution of the existing powertrain or something entirely new. Though the prototype may look largely undisguised, those head- and taillight graphics look like stickers to throw us off the scent, and these do not appear to be production-ready body panels. Expect the finished product to look far more polished when it arrives sometime in the middle of next year, with the hybrid version to follow sometime thereafter.
