This is my mom's car. Great car, just was time for a new one. I'm helping her sell it. She already bought herself a nice new Cayenne.
If you're looking at a used Cayenne, especially a turbo, there are some things you should know. The valve body in the transmission WILL begin slipping, making your shifting absolutely horrid and sapping the joy of the drive. I replaced the valve body in this Cayenne 1k miles ago with an upgraded unit from Revmax along with changing the spark plugs. This is a $2,500 job that is already done on this beast! Shifting is perfect now. Also, the original plastic coolant pipes WILL burst, stranding you wherever you are, it's just a matter of time. They have been replaced on this Cayenne with the upgraded aluminum pipes by a Porsche dealer. Porsche has also replaced the alternator, water pump, cardan shaft, and coils. These are all issues which WILL come up on every used Cayenne. Here is your chance to get one without the headaches! I have all the service records available for review by serious buyers. The wheels are 21x10.5 with good michelin latitude sport 295/35/21 summer tires. ZERO curb rash. Looks much better in person than in my cruddy cell-phone pics. Driving the million-mile Porsche 356
Fri, 30 Aug 2013Maybe you've seen or heard about the Porsche 356 with almost one-million miles (though it doesn't look like it), but Petrolicious finally has produced a video to show us what it's like to drive the 982,000-mile car. Guy Newmark's beautiful, dark-blue 1964 356C looks great in motion - much better than in photos - and serves to remind us not only what meticulous car care can do for old classics, but that old Porsches were built to last.
So how fastidious is Newmark about maintaining it? He takes the car to his mechanic of 40 years every 3,000 miles for an oil change and to fix anything that needs attention.
Newmark says his 356 "is everything you could want," and that he finds errands to do just to go drive it. We would, too. The next-best thing is to watch the inspiring video below of the well-traveled Porsche.
Can a Corvette really be compared to a 911 with options costing more than the Chevy?
Wed, 29 Jan 2014In this latest video from Drive, Chris Harris asks straight away, "Can you still compare a base Corvette to a Porsche Carerra?" That's an particularly interesting question in this film, as the 911 in question is a 400-horsepower Carrera S model that's been fitted with $60,000 in options. Base price of a Corvette Stingray? $51,995. Harris' tester features an automatic and some other goodies that push it right up to that $60,000 range. So yes, the options on the Porsche cost as much as this entire 460-hp Chevrolet.
Harris stresses that this isn't a full review, but he does exercise both cars in a more composed manner before reverting to his traditionally exuberant driving style. The impressions are, as always, spot on, with Harris favoring the pointy nature and V8 power of the Stingray, while enjoying the gearbox (Porsche's exceptional PDK transmission) and just about everything else on the 911.

Porsche's former CEO Wiedeking to stand trial over VW-share manipulation
Wed, 27 Aug 2014Former Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (left in the above photo) could potentially be facing some time in the slammer after all. The last we had heard, he and former Chief Financial Officer Holger Haerter (right) had avoided a trial in April due to a lack of evidence. However, an appeals court in Stuttgart has looked at the case again and overruled the earlier decision, finding that the executives should be tried for share manipulation during Porsche's failed attempt to take over Volkswagen in 2008, Bloomberg reports.
The judges in the appeal "list numerous indications that could suggest that there was a hidden decision to increase the stake as they could suggest the opposite evaluation by the lower court," said Stefan Schueler, a spokesperson for the court, in a statement cited by Bloomberg. Wiedeking and Haerter put out their own releases saying that there was no merit to the charges.
The prosecutors allege that Wiedeking and Haerter had a plan to buy up VW stock options in 2008 to take the automotive giant over but hid it from investors. The whole thing was a massive failure and eventually allowed VW the chance to acquire Porsche and forced the two execs to step down. In addition to the criminal investigation, hedge funds have attempted to sue the company multiple times in civil court for the same reason, but they have repeatedly failed.
