Yes, it really is a sublime driving experience! A quick list of the vehicle's features is presented below:
  • Certified Pre-owned through September 2015 or to 100,000 miles (We purchased the vehicle as a certified pre-owned vehicle from Park Place Porsche in Dallas)
  • PCM with Navigation
  • Hands-free Bluetooth sync to telephone and phone contact list plus music streaming
  • 14-way power leather front seats with seat memory
  • Heated and ventilated (cooled) front seats
  • Comfort Lighting Package (additional interior lights)
  • Front and rear parking sensors with visual display through PCM Monitor
  • Bi-Xenon headlights including PDLS (headlights illuminate around corners when turning)
  • Extended range fuel tank
  • Rear seat DVD entertainment system with auxiliary audio/video inputs and 120v AC power outlet
  • Keyless entry and ignition with ability to save the vehicle’s memory settings (seat, mirror and steering wheel positions along with radio and phone presets) to each key
Cosmetically, the exterior of the vehicle is in very good condition showing only minor rock impacts as expected given the car's age and mileage, and the interior is in excellent condition. Tires are in good condition. Carfax reports one minor incident. Here is the story as described to me by Park Place Porsche when we bought the car: the front bumper cover was scratched a few months after the original owner purchased the vehicle (we're the second owner) and it was repainted by a body shop recommended/related to the Porsche dealership near Austin. The bumper was NOT replaced and NO other components of the car were damaged. It was made very clear to me that Porsche is extremely picky about putting vehicles on their certified pre-owned program and would not have certified this vehicle if the damage was more than superficial. The color of the bumper is a 100% exact match - I looked at this very carefully before purchasing the car and could not tell it was re-painted without crawling under the car. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Porsche in Paul Walker fatal accident was traveling over 100 mph before crash

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the November crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas was traveling at speeds above 100 miles per hour before Rodas lost control for "unknown reasons," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office that has been acquired by The Hollywood Reporter.
Once control was lost, the Porsche spun, hit a curb and then impacted a tree and a light post, then it spun 180 degrees and hit another tree before erupting in flames, the report said. Neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, according to toxicology reports conducted by the coroner.
As for the future of the Fast and Furious franchise, a separate by The Hollywood Reporter claims director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal Studios will move forward with the seventh installment in the franchise, which was only partially completed when Walker was killed.

Production Porsche 918 Spyder images leak out of Chinese patent office

Wed, 26 Dec 2012

A few images of what looks to be the production Porsche 918 Spyder are here to say hello, courtesy of a patent office in China. If these provide an accurate look at what the hybrid supercar will look like, there are a few differences between it and the latest examples of the pre-production prototypes our spy shooters have seen.
The jerry-rigged turn signals inside the headlight enclosures and on the front fenders on the prototype are replaced with more polished units inside the headlamps located underneath the main beams. Behind that, the door handles have been swapped from horizontal latches on the door to vertical openings located just behind the door shutline.
We've also seen a Martini-liveried version of the 918 Spyder that has extra carbon elements that don't appear on this car. It was at the Nürburgring with carbon lips on the front fenders and another carbon element that hung from the rear fenders and ran down to the rear diffuser. When we saw the car on our Deep Dive piece, the front lips were gone but that rear piece remained, and we can't tell from the brochure and options sheet that we've seen so far what it comes with. The wheels from the concept and the green brake calipers, minus the polycarbonate covers, should be the standard fitment while the ten-spoke magnesium wheels will be a 29,750-euro (about $39,000 US) option.

Porsche digitally dissects its 918 Spyder for your viewing pleasure

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

At this point, you'd think we'd know all there is to know about the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder - except what it's like to drive - but Porsche has released a new video giving us a more in-depth look at its new plug-in hypercar all the same. The animated video gives us numerous cutaway looks at the 918 Spyder while giving a visual demonstration of the car's four hybrid driving modes.
Though nowhere near as exciting as watching the 918 blast around the Nürburgring in record time, this new video is nonetheless both interesting and informative. Scroll down to watch the video yourself, and be sure to check out our live gallery of the production version of the car along with a stock gallery.
