MUST SELL QUICKLY.  This truck is wicked cool with every imaginable upgrade and option.  I'm selling it because I'm relocating to New York and this is just not practical for the City.  This truck has been babied - high mileage but nearly all highway miles crossing I-75 2-3 times a week.

Best of all it's CPO to 100,000 miles or late 2014 - so there is NOTHING to worry about.  Porsche CPO is basically a new car warranty.  Meticulously serviced at Porsche of Fort Meyers and Champion in Fort Lauderdale since new.  Every service recorded and receipts kept.

  • Guard's Red side logo
  •  Changed front lights to european version clear lens
  • $10,000 sound system with custom dash molding and frame.  I'm a audiophile and to call this system impressive is an understatement
  • Top of the line 8" Alpine head unit new in 2012.
  • Nav, SiriusXM, HD Radio, iPod interface, Bluetooth hands free phone interface (super clear with mike in dash).
  • Morell speakers replaced every Bose speaker.
  • Two Genesis amps.  (one under front passenger seat where original Nav dvd was and other in back ins side compartment).
  • No separate sub because I did not think it needed it but it is pre-wired for the crossover etc.  Best plan is to replace Mickey Mouse spare but seriously, unless you're like 17, there is no reason for a separate sub with the Morell's.
  • Rear seat entertainment in both head rests (custom replacement head rests, I have the originals as well).
  • Back up camera
  • Built in Escort 9500ci with front and rear bumper detection
  • Aluminum racing pedals
  • OEM Carbon Fiber trim set installed by Porsche
  • Top of the line Lloyd rugs with embroidered logos
  • Black Porsche Racing wheels with center crest (these are brand new and zero curb rash or nicks)
  • 4 new Michelin Latitude Sport tires with less than 1,000 miles wear
There is $35,000 in aftermarket improvements to this Cayenne (stereo, RSE, wheels, carbon, pedals, rugs and graphics).  It's breaking my heart as I write this to think I need to sell this truck.

Good luck.  Bid high and bid fast.  Also for sale locally so if you're serious, consider the Buy it Now.  If you want to come see the truck - I'm in Fort Lauderdale.  All the best.

2015 Porsche Boxster GTS [w/video]

Thu, 22 May 2014

You know the sound: the startling pop-brraaap-pop-pop shotgun fire of unspent flammables coursing through exhaust pipes that usually signals a raw, naughty powerplant beneath the hood.
But when you're nestled in the Porsche Boxster GTS' snug seats, it's not a crackling small block V8 or a high-strung Italian flat crank making the devilish racket, but rather the new king of the Boxster/Cayman lineup, a 3.4-liter flat-six that produces 330 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.
Within the emotional vacuum of a spec sheet, the Boxster GTS' pumped-up grunt seems pretty mild, with a gain of only 15 hp and 7 lb-ft, respectively. But the reworked acoustical experience goes a long way towards suggesting the GTS has a trace of racing blood in its veins, and might even be missing its catalytic converters. In addition to the sonorous, centrally positioned tailpipes, the cabin also fills with lovely mechanical strains thanks to the "Sound Symposer" acoustical amplifier that's trickled down into the Boxster/Cayman lineup from the 911 for the first time. Boxster S, we hardly knew ya.

Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits

Wed, 15 May 2013

The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.

Porsche planning Cayman GT4 racer

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

To say that Porsche is big in racing is like saying that Warren Buffett dabbles in mergers and acquisitions. But while it fields the 919 Hybrid at Le Mans and in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the bulk of its racing activities are undertaken by private teams that buy customer racecars from the factory. Those in turn are largely based on the 911, but the latest intel from the motor racing world indicates that Zuffenhausen is planning a more accessible customer race car.
The new, more affordable competition car is to be based on the Cayman and built to GT4 specifications, slotting in below the 911-based GT3 Cup, GT3 R and RSR. Autosport reports that Porsche has already developed a prototype and will shortly commence testing. Details are scarce at the moment, but the Cayman GT4 would seem to compete against the likes of the Aston Martin Vantage N24, Nissan 370Z Nismo GT4 and Maserati GranTurismo MC. It will also likely help Porsche foster enthusiasm for a potential road version that's already been spotted undergoing testing. Previous GT4 racing conversions of the Cayman, like the one pictured above, were carried out by third-party racing constructors not recognized by the factory.
Porsche may not be the only one showing interest in the category, however. BMW is said to similarly be considering a GT4-spec version of its M235i Racing model to compete in the same class, taking the place of the defunct M3 GT4 as the Bavarian marque's entry-level customer racing car.
