For for sale is a beautiful black with black leather interior Porsche Cayenne.  The car has aftermarket heated front seats, and the all important 6 speed manual transmission.  This is not the manual/automatic shifter, this is a drivers car with a real 6 speed manual.   Try and find one of these and it's almost impossible.  Try to find one with the black over black and it's even more difficult.  Porsche didn't make many of these SUV's in manuals at all, and this is a chance to own a rare SUV with a manual transmission.

Car shifts and drives amazing, great family car or for someone who likes the manual transmission to keep them focused on the road. The clutch is perfect, and was driven properly, no riding the clutch.  This is a great first car for a young person to keep them from texting and driving, or talking on the phone.  Hard to do with a manual transmission.

The car has almost 63,400 miles;  low for a car of this type and age.  Had new brakes installed around the whole car about 3000 miles ago, this included rotors, pads and sensors, which is a large expense from Porsche.  Comes with the beautiful 22" rims and tires which are almost like new.  Lots of tread life left and no cupping or anything weird with the front end.

The leather seats are in perfect condition and all the rear trunk area covers are with the car, these can end up missing sometimes with other cars.  The spare tire has never been used as far as I can tell.   Has aftermarket carpet protectors in the front and back, so the carpets are in perfect.  I also replaced the rear center brake light which had two of the LED lamps go out. New windshield two years ago, and an AC charge last year.  This is an outstanding car, and a lot of fun to drive.  Performs well and gets a lot of looks with the big rims.

I have the stock rims with studded snow tires as well, but they will be an extra costs or can be negotiated in the pricing.  These tires only have 6,000 miles on them or so.

1949 Gm?nd Porsche shows the birth of an icon

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

The Austrian village of Gmünd is more than just difficult to pronounce; it's also the birthplace of the Porsche brand. Before the company ever started building sports cars at its current home base near Stuttgart, the fledgling business completed several vehicles in the tiny town in Southern Austria. In this video, former Pikes Peak International Hill Climb champion Jeff Zwart takes a look at a 1949 Gmünd coupe to see how the company has evolved since its earliest days.
The thing to note about the Gmünd-built Porsches is their absolute design simplicity. The phrase "form follows function" gets bandied around a lot, but it really means something when you look at these early cars. However, the minimalism was partially out of necessity. The vehicles were meant to be sporty but certainly weren't rockets. Power came courtesy of a modified Volkswagen Beetle engine, and anything extraneous would have slowed the models down. Scroll down to watch Zwart go back in time to Porsche's beginnings.

Ruf Turbo Florio is the Turbo Targa Porsche won't sell you

Thu, Mar 5 2015

Porsche offers a staggering array of 911 variants. You can get the Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera GTS, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Carrera 4 GTS and Turbo and Turbo S (to say nothing of the GT3 and new GT3 RS). And with few exceptions, you can get each as a coupe, cabrio or Targa. Except you can't get a Turbo Targa. The partial-convertible model tops out at the GTS. But if the one thing you really wanted was a Targa with a turbo engine, the folks over at Ruf will be glad to hook you up with the tuned version you see here. It's called the Ruf Turbo Florio, taking the latter part of its handle from the second part of the Sicilian road race where Porsche got the name for its lift-top in the first place. But Ruf's take doesn't just match the factory Turbo's output – it far exceeds it: with 621 horsepower and 608 pound-feet of torque on tap, it'll put even the 911 Turbo S (on Sport Plus overboost, no less) to shame. Plus you can get it with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT, driving all four wheels like the factory Turbo or just the rear set like the GT2 that Porsche doesn't even make any more. It'll top out at 205 miles per hour, and all the while with the wind in your hair – but not too much of it. Related Video:

Watch Larry Kosilla resurrect the finish of this barn-find 1966 Porsche 912

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

Larry Kosilla, the founder of the Ammo NYC line of car cleaning products, has his own show YouTube's Drive network - we saw his work before when he gave a Ferrari 288 GTO a two-day detailing job. On this episode, Kosilla gets called in to do his best with a 1966 Porsche 912, a car that was last registered in 1990 and recently found in a barn in Connecticut.
Among the expected dirt and cobwebs, the Irish Green Porsche is also covered what is assumed to be cat fur and "waste." The car is in such delicate condition, however, that Kosilla can't wash it for fear of getting more water in it than on it, so he has to steam and wipe the entire thing down before he begins the paint correction process. In addition to the thorough knowledge of his work and his ability to explain it simply, the episode is captioned with further information one of Porsche's popular but less regarded models, and how Kosilla does what he does.
You'll find a compelling 29 minute masterclass in the video below.
