Up for bid is a BEAUTIFUL Porsche Boxster S! This has been our personal vehicle over the last few years and we have absolutely enjoyed it, it's a very fun car. This is the Boxster S and it's fully loaded at that, with the all leather package (no cheap plastic) with the sports kit, this car was originally over $65.000 new. 2002 Boxster S, 6spd manual transmission, fully loaded, just serviced at Porsche. New brakes, water pump, tires, Always changed oil when needed. 151k miles mostly hwy commute, Originally a Florida car, Garaged and Well kept. Has been a Florida car most of it's life. A Flat 6 cylinder motor with a 6 speed manual gearbox transmission that shifts smoothly and accelerates like crazy. The car runs drives and shifts like new. It's been babied it's whole life but enjoyed at the same time, don't let the miles scare you. Porsche would have entered F1 if Audi had blocked its Le Mans program
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Go back a few years and you may have heard rumors of Porsche heading into Formula One. That never came to pass - or at least, it hasn't yet - but that doesn't mean that it wasn't close to happening. That's how committed to returning to top-level motorsport competition Porsche has become recently.
Autosport reports that just as Porsche was merging fully into the Volkswagen Group, Zuffenhausen was weighing its options for a factory racing program. Le Mans was its favorite, which makes sense, as it remains far and away the most successful constructor in the history of the famous endurance race. But the strategists at Porsche were worried that its new corporate overlords at Volkswagen wouldn't support two LMP1 programs and would favor Audi, which has positively dominated the modern era of endurance racing, coming second only to Porsche in the number of Le Mans victories it has scored to date.
Porsche's Plan B was reportedly to head into Formula One, although it isn't clear if the German automaker was intent on starting its own team, buying an existing one or merely providing engines to other teams. Porsche fielded its own cars in F1 in the late 1950s and early 60s, and returned as an engine supplier with TAG to power McLaren in the 1980s, powering Niki Lauda and Alain Prost to the World Championship in 1984 and 1985.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S named Motor Trend Best Driver's Car [w/video]

competition for the title included some of the best performance cars that have gone on sale in the past year. The new C4S follows the 2012 Best Driver's Car award winner, a two-wheel-drive Carrera S.
Determining the winner of the coveted title isn't easy. Each vehicle is pushed through Motor Trend's normal battery of instrumented tests. Editors then spend time with each car over a 500-mile tour of mixed conditions before a final batch of testing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with pro racer Randy Pobst at the wheel.
