2000 PORSCHE BOXSTER S ROADSTER.  Finished in beautiful Arctic Silver over black leather interior with matching black soft top.  It has a Tiptronic transmission (automatic with optional manual mode).  I strive to make the online/ebay buying experience as effortless, enjoyable, and secure as possible. Please be advised, this is a very nice car, however, in order to make sure you get something better than expected, I take detailed pictures of the flaws weather they be scratches, dents, etc.. this way there are no disappointments. Check our feedback and that will tell the story about who you are dealing with. I am a small independent owner/operator who seeks out all kinds of cars but specializes in low mileage older Porsches, Mercedes, and BMW's.  This Boxster S fits right in. I have had many over the years and know these cars like the back of my hand. This is a very nice example with 21k actual miles! That in itself is very hard to find. It starts right up, runs, drives, and shifts perfect. No funny noises, bangs, vibrations, etc.  A/C is ice cold, stereo works perfectly, as do the power top and windows. Wheels are in great shape and the tires have good tread although are not brand new. The exterior looks way above average for a car of it's age. With no major flaws of any kind, only minor scratches and chips do exist. The hard top has a few scratches from being stored in the garage and being silver, they are not too noticeable. I took close up pictures of these imperfections for your peace of mind. I don't glaze over anything in the pictures to deceive the buyer. Any imperfections that do exist on this car are only really visible when standing close up. Some minor sun fade on the very top of the headlights and some of the trim does exist because the car was not always in a garage.  The interior of the car is virtually flawless, non-smoker, and no rips, tears, stains, odors, or excessive wear. Look at the steering wheel and seats and they look like a car with 21k miles should look. This car has a few nice factory options like the premium 18" wheels , factory hard-top, DSP digital sound processor Hi-Fi stereo, Tiptronic and more.

Most people who are looking at this car probably already know what it is, but just in case you don't, here are some details. This is the Boxster S model and the S is a big difference. Not only was it more expensive when new, it has a lot of parts from the 911 that essentially make this a very different car. Where the standard model has a 2.7 L motor, this one grows to 3.2. This car borrows the transmission and brakes from it's bigger brother, the 911/996.  Sportier suspension, dual center exhaust, red calipers and a thicker insulated top also set this apart from the standard version. This car aged very well, still a technological and performance marvel and still holds it's own on a track and the road even by 2013 standards.  I had one of these when they were new and will get another one for my personal collection in the next few years. It is a car that once you have, you always want to own.

I canvased ebay and tried to offer up the lowest mileage car at the most competitive price possible. In addition, I am including a FACTORY HARD-TOP with the sale, a $1500 value roughly. I am open to offers so please feel free to submit one. Please be advised that offers are binding contracts so only send in an offer if you are ready to buy. If you are not ready to buy, that is fine, you can call in and we get try to overcome whatever obstacle is preventing you from being ready to buy. I can assist with the disposal of your current vehicle if that is something that you need. Please be advised that due to past issues, we may ask you to call in before accepting your offer in order to validate that you are a real party and not a scammer. Thank you for looking and looking forward to assisting you with the purchase of your next car.

Check around at what else is available with this mileage and feel free to make an offer. We strive to offer the best possible value out there for your dollar.

This Porsche just received a full synthetic oil change and a professional detail. It comes with original factory books, both keys, and a factory hard-top.

The car is located in Huntington, NY 11743 and is available for sale locally. Mileage could vary between 100-200 miles due to test/drives and showings. It is available 7 days per week for inspection by appointment only.

10 most memorable cars and SUVs of 2019

Tue, Dec 24 2019

It's no surprise that a car reviewer will drive a large number of cars over the course of a year. Indeed, when the clock strikes midnight on Dec 31, I will have driven 75 new cars, trucks and SUV this year (and one old Peugeot) over the course of weekly evaluation loans and first drive events. That sure seems like a lot. Some definitely got more attention than others, and some came and went without leaving much of an impression – I completely forgot I drove a Kia Forte. Yet in the spirit of this day, I thought I'd pick the 10 that I would love to see under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning. You know, just in case you were looking to get me something. I'll also throw in a couple disappointments that were memorable for the wrong reasons. They'd get sent back to the store on Boxing Day. Lexus LC 500 Pictured below and resplendent in its Flare Yellow metallic paint, the car that would reach highest on my list is the divine Lexus LC 500. As a devout lover of GT cars, the LC ticks all the boxes. Muscular and characterful engine? V8, check. Beautifully made and memorable interior? It's gorgeous, to hell with Remote Touch. Check. Comfortable and reasonably practical? Superb seats and, uh, yeah. Makes me want to stand there and stare at it? You bet. Though I long figured my heart would say LC but my head "Porsche 911," after this go-around, that's no longer the case. LC, pretty please. 2020-lexus-lc500-f34-2 View 19 Photos Polestar 1 I actually feel lucky that I got to drive the Polestar 1. Only 150 will be produced each year, and it's a far more special thing than it would initially appear. And that's despite initially appearing to be a beautiful, classic two-door GT car with a roof so rakish it's only possible because it's made of carbon fiber. That itÂ’s a massively powerful plug-in hybrid with more all-electric range than any other PHEV is a thick dollop of whipped cream on a slice of Toscakaka. You know, Swedish dessert, Swedish car. Fine, I'll stick to Ikea references.  Polestar1_Launch_SanFrancisco-0014 View 44 Photos Volvo V60 Cross Country Speaking of Sweden, did I drive this car off the road there? Sure did! And despite this, the V60 Cross Country scratches that certain wagon itch and looks sensational to boot. I wish it were available with the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's best not to get greedy at Christmas.

eBay Find of the Day: 1981 Porsche 928 convertible by Carelli

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

The Porsche 928 was perhaps the consummate European GT of its day. With a powerful front-mounted V8 engine that grew in displacement as the model years went on, it was capable of eating up the miles at triple-digit speeds in great comfort for occupants. It was also an unusual beauty, with its sharp front and curved rear featuring innovative integrated bumpers.
Currently for auction on eBay Motors is one of the rarest 928s you're likely to find, in a handsome combination of Guards Red paint and tan leather interior, though we wouldn't mind a less-showy finish to the factory wheels. According to the seller, this car is one of eight 928 convertibles by Carelli Design, a firm that's still in business.
The auction claims that these cars were made in 1981 as a feasibility study between Carelli and Porsche for a possible production 928 convertible. The seller says he worked at the dealership where the car is said to have been originally sold $103,000. To remove the roof and hide the convertible top, there were significant changes made to the body and interior, including redesigned doors and a completely new trunk. As you can see in the gallery, when down, the top is completely hidden in a very factory-like fashion. When up, it looks slightly awkward, though (and we'd really like to see a rear three-quarter view to check out the blind spots).

Winterkorn remains CEO of Volkswagen's majority shareholder

Sun, Oct 4 2015

Martin Winterkorn may have stepped down as the chief executive of Volkswagen in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal, but he's not out from under the company's large umbrella just yet. In fact, according to a report from Reuters, he still holds four top-level positions not only within the industrial giant's bureaucracy, but at the top of it. And one of those is as CEO of the company's largest shareholder. That holding company is Porsche SE, the investment arm of the Piech and Porsche families (Ferdinand Porsche's descendants) which holds over 50 percent of VW's shares. In 2008, Porsche SE acquired majority interest in the Volkswagen Group which in turn acquired Porsche the automaker – and placed VW's Winterkorn at the head of the executive board of the holding company. Though Winterkorn has resigned from his position as chairman of VW's management board, he has apparently yet to step down from running Porsche SE. That's not the only job that Winterkorn still retains in VW's senior management. He also continues to serve as chairman of Audi, as well as truck manufacturer Scania, and the new Truck & Bus GmbH into which Scania has been grouped together with Man. It remains unclear if or when Winterkorn might resign from those positions as well, or how his tenure in those posts might affect the company's effort to start over in the aftermath of the scandal in which it is currently embroiled. Also unclear, Reuters reports, is how much, exactly, Winterkorn will receive in compensation after having stepped down from his chair at the head of the VW executive board. His pension is reported at over $30 million, but he could be awarded a large severance package as well amounting to as much as two years' worth of his annual compensation, which amounted to around $18 million last year. Whether he receives the severance pay or not is expected to depend on whether his resignation is considered by the supervisory board to have been the result of his own missteps or independent of the situation that resulted in his resignation. One way or another, he's not likely to go poor anytime soon.
