2013 Porsche Boxster, 6 speed manual, 43k miles, all scheduled maintenance complete, navigation, Infotainment package w/Bose and 19 wheels. The factory warranty expires November 2016. The car looks great, is lots of fun and in excellent condition. There are a few very minor cosmetic blemishes for example, a small driveway ramp scrape under the front bumper. The 1st owner traded it in with almost 40K miles and Porsche Certified the car as approved preowned. The 2nd owner was relocated and needed to sell. He repainted the front bumper (to fix rock chips) and also did the 40K mile maintenance. Im selling due to a left knee injury making it uncomfortable to shift plus the garage space is needed. The Annual Maintenance was completed at a Porsche dealer on 7/14/16. The dealer suggested replacing all 4 tires. Car comes with dust cover, charger and other extras. I have clear title, all keys and manuals. There are no odors, no accidents, no dents the car looks and rides great!

Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
1949 Gm?nd Porsche shows the birth of an icon
Fri, 21 Mar 2014The Austrian village of Gmünd is more than just difficult to pronounce; it's also the birthplace of the Porsche brand. Before the company ever started building sports cars at its current home base near Stuttgart, the fledgling business completed several vehicles in the tiny town in Southern Austria. In this video, former Pikes Peak International Hill Climb champion Jeff Zwart takes a look at a 1949 Gmünd coupe to see how the company has evolved since its earliest days.
The thing to note about the Gmünd-built Porsches is their absolute design simplicity. The phrase "form follows function" gets bandied around a lot, but it really means something when you look at these early cars. However, the minimalism was partially out of necessity. The vehicles were meant to be sporty but certainly weren't rockets. Power came courtesy of a modified Volkswagen Beetle engine, and anything extraneous would have slowed the models down. Scroll down to watch Zwart go back in time to Porsche's beginnings.
2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed statue unveiled
Thu, 11 Jul 2013Each year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a single marque is celebrated with a large and ornate "Central Feature" sculpture, with recent automakers including Audi in 2009, Alfa Romeo in 2010, Jaguar in 2011 and Lotus last year. This year, Porsche gets the honor, and it is using the opportunity to commemorate 50 years of the 911.
The sculpture features three generations of the 911 towering over the Goodwood House. The most recent 991 911 has the lowest position, with an original 1963 car second highest and a 1973 2.7 RS at the top of the pile. Be sure to check out the sculpture for yourself in the gallery of images above.
