2011 Porsche Boxster Convertible. One owner, low mileage, Artic Silver Metallic exterior with Black leather
interior, in excellent shape. Clear Carfax, never been in an accident. Southern California car, serviced at
Newport Beach Porsche (Newport Auto Center), all records available. Last service completed at 34,773mi (only 1,800
miles ago). With a 6-speed manual transmission this car is a blast to drive. This one got me hooked on Porsche
performance and handling, so I upgraded to a 911, which means my original Porsche baby has to find a new owner.
This Boxster handles superbly with its mid-engine design. The 2.9L engine really moves this baby, while getting
27MPGs on the highway! Upgraded sounds and Navigation package (P4U option – originally $3,430 upgrade), and
19” Carrera Classic wheels (a $3,175 upgrade). Also has heated seats and a rear wind deflector for driving with
the top down on cold days. Make me an offer!

Porsche Australia price cuts in excess of $36,000 irks customers

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

Have you ever gone to the store, only to become irked after learning that the new [*insert widget here*] that you bought just last week has gone through a price drop? If you're particularly thrifty, even if it's only a couple of bucks, you probably brought in your receipt to see if the store would issue you a credit for the difference. Now, imagine that the widget in question isn't a minor purchase, it's a Porsche - and the price drop isn't just a few bucks - it's thousands.
That's the unhappy scenario that recently faced a number of Australian luxury car buyers and the uncomfortable conversation awaiting the German automaker. According to GoAuto, Porsche Australia recently whacked up to $36,000 off the price of its models in order to jumpstart sales Down Under - the Panamera range itself saw cuts between $5,500 and more than $36,000. The aggressive price cut was a strategy designed to drive sales of more than 3,000 cars locally, a yearly goal originally set for 2018, but now hoped for as early as 2016.
Australia is known for its comparatively high car prices, so the dramatic price cuts were undoubtedly welcome news to potential Porsche shoppers. However, around 50 existing customers were understandably agitated by the reductions because they purchased their cars just before the adjustments took effect. Not only did they stand to lose out on the deals, they also had good reason to fear that their new cars' residual values would take a beating.

Ferrari 458 Speciale vs Porsche 911 GT3 shows what Chris Harris does best

Thu, Nov 27 2014

After a brief trip behind a pay wall, British auto journalist Chris Harris is back posting videos for free online, and shorts like this one are the perfect example of why his return is so welcome. Showing up at the damp Anglesey Circuit on the Welsh coast with the Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche 911 GT3, Harris ostensibly aims to find the better model. However, the final result really succeeds in showcasing the fun to be had behind the wheels of both supercars, particularly when initiating huge slides around the track. As Harris presents it, the vehicles get through the circuit in somewhat different ways The Ferrari is brash and "feels alive," as he puts it as it screams around the track. Alternatively, the Porsche is a bit more restrained, while still being able to show some emotion. In the end, it comes down to trying to get a controlled lap around Anglesey from this duo, but it's pretty clear that the times don't tell the whole story. If you're in the mood to watch two of the world's premiere supercars wag their tails in the wet, then this video cannot be missed.

Porsche inspecting 2,500 Euro-spec Macans for damaged brake boosters

Thu, 29 May 2014

Porsche is investigating a potential brake issue with 2,500 of its new Macan CUVs. The inspection focuses on the state of the brake systems following tests that discovered the brake boosters may have been damaged during assembly.
Porsche has pointed out that, despite the concern, the affected Macans still meet safety regulations. The issue is predominantly found in European-spec Macans, which according to Porsche, have been delivered to consumers. Owners of affected vehicles in Europe will be notified and asked to come in for a brief, no-cost inspection.
American consumers, though, have no reason to worry. We reached out to Porsche Cars North America, who confirmed that the vehicles in question were assembled before US-spec cars were screwed together.
