2002 Porsche Boxster S with Tiptronic
5-speed automatic and just 34,349 miles. Condition
is new car spectacular, inside and out with a smooth,
straight body, peerless origianl paint, a gorgeous interior and
an undercarriage that looks like it just rolled off the
assembly line. After reading all we've presented,
seeing these awesome pictures and watching the video, we
think you'll agree, this Boxster S is among the best (if
not the best) currently available on the market . . .
We installed new front and rear brake
pads a few weeks ago, along with new hood struts, a new cabin
filter and treated the exquisite 3.2 liter engine to a
synthetic oil change. Will the car sell faster or
for more money because we did this? Probably not
but it is $600 you won't have to spend.
Most dealers wouldn't even bother.
Unlike the base Boxster, the S has a
center opening in the front fascia that feeds air to an
additional radiator found on S models equipped with the Tiptronic transmission. The Litronic HID headlamps
automatically re-aim with changes in vehicle loading . .

Tires are great, body seams are tight,
everything works, nothing is broken.
The more powerful brakes on a Boxster
S come from the 911 parts bin with red painted calipers
and cross drilled rotors. They feel strong enough
to pull off your glasses. Mid engine design
provides neutral handling - and an additional trunk . .
.
Paint quality can be seen here, along with
a near perfect body and showroom sharp trim.
The S model is quickly identified from the
rear by its unique round, twin outlet exhaust and the sound
this car makes is poetic. Larger standard wheels,
quicker steering and improved suspension (over a base
Boxster) give the S world class sports car handling, almost
beyond belief . . .
Rear spoiler automatically deploys at
about 75 mph. Wheels are staggered with 205/50ZR17
front and 255/40ZR17 rear . . .
Dry sump engine lubrication has 9.3 quart
oil capacity for superior cooling. Porsche VarioCam
variable cam phasing adjust timing for strong low end torque
and screaming power all the way past 7,000 RPM . . .
We sell a few 911s annually and more than a
few Boxsters during that time too. I've been fortunate to drive
different versions of Porsche's 986 roadster during the past
few weeks and find myself comparing the S not to the base
Boxster, but to a 911. The Boxster S is not just a
faster Boxster; it feels completely different. The
greater torque arrives early and strong, yet it stills spins
freely to its lofty 7,200 RPM redline. As good as the
regular Boxster is, after driving the two back-to-back, the
base car is simply no longer enough. And despite my
initial misgivings about an automatic transmission in a car
like this, the Tiptronic proved just as thrilling as the
manual. Take my word for it; base Boxster owners
intensely wish their cars' name carried a suffix.

This high quality 2002 Porsche Boxster S has
exclusivity, breathtaking performance and barely 34,000
miles. It is functionally perfect and a flawless
driver.
You should buy it.
Leather interior looks almost new with Bose
audio, heated 12-way power seats (both) alarm with infrared
interior monitoring, "LeMans start" left side ignition and
large tachometer correctly located front and center . . .
Clear center wind blocker with mesh behind
the headrests allows normal conversation at highway speeds.
Spotless, dry undercarriage . . .
Brand new brake pads ate each corner.

Owner books.
A note from the owner.
I am a “used car dealer” but before that,
I’m an automobile enthusiast. I love original rare and high
quality modified vintage cars and over the past decade I’ve
been in business, have come to appreciate an expanding
selection of high-demand, high value vehicles. I specialize
in and am always on the lookout for cars and trucks that
were cherished by their previous owners. I have an
experienced eye for quality but I’ve discovered that my
preferred buyer can instantly discern such a vehicle and I
have therefore, built my business and reputation around
finding these kinds of cars for this type of customer.
Super low miles and/or gentle ownership are strict
requirements but a car must do something for me on a
personal level if there is any hope of convincing you, the
bidder, that this is an above average, exceptional
vehicle. If nothing about the car excites me, it probably
won’t do much for you either and I would soon be out of
business.
With just four employees and no sales
people, I realize how unusual a “dealership” like mine may
at first glance appear. It has taken great care and effort
to create such an organization and often, an unusually high
investment in a particular car we are about to list. To
sell the best it is critical to have a trusted expert in my
corner and Chris, owner of
A-Best Auto Repair
in Henderson, Nevada has my back. He and his crew can fix
anything; from a low budget beater to the absolute
most expensive exotic you can name, no job is too big and no
small detail unimportant. They do an exhaustive 130 point
inspection on each and every vehicle and nothing escapes
their methodical investigation. Experience has shown that
everything I spend making a car truly “right” will come back
to me not only with a higher selling price, but a happy
customer that says good things about me. Moreover; it
allows my writer to describe the car with ease and
confidence, something that simply is not possible unless
he thinks it is true. If major issues are found or the
cost of fixing the car the way it should be makes it too
expensive to sell, my choice is an easy one. I simply
absorb a few hundred dollars loss for my trouble and sell it
at auction.
After the vehicle is fully sorted it
arrives at our facility where it encounters the suspicious
eye of Tom, my writer that creates the presentations you see
on eBay. He believes absolutely nothing I or anyone else
tells him about the car as he combs over every inch,
researches its history and documents originality and
authenticity. Historical significance, rarity, special
features, possible modifications and much more are used to
accurately describe the vehicle with integrity and honesty.
Most important for the potential buyer are the 100 to 150
high resolution pictures that I take myself. The pricey
equipment I use would be right at home in the hands of the
very best professional photographers and I’ve developed a
logical format that walks you around the entire vehicle with
close-up shots of every square inch. I provide detailed
views of the interior, under the hood and then put it on a
lift to show the undercarriage and confirm that the beauty
of the car you are considering is not merely skin deep.
Even our detailers are enthusiastic about the cars they so
meticulously clean. This reconditioning can sometimes take
several days and I’ve converted a paint booth, especially
prepared for the professional clay bar and polishing each
car lovingly receives.
Usually, I’ll also include a high
definition video that shows the car doing its thing. If
it’s a fast car, we film it going fast. If it’s a 4x4
you’ll see it crawling up a hill. In every case you will
hear things like a rumbling exhaust, working sound system
and watch the temperature fall on a digital, laser
thermometer pointed at an air conditioning vent. How many
“dealers” will video a Lotus Esprit doing a buck-eighty? We
do.
No “dealer,” on-line or in the real
world, takes it to this level. No other seller or
organization provides you, the buyer, with so much
information. I do this because it is the only way I can
convince a person; often a world away, unable to touch or
feel their purchase, that my vehicle is for real and what I
say is the truth. All the above is necessary for me to stay
in business while keeping integrity intact. I want every
buyer to be happy and I need glowing feedback on
eBay. To accomplish that I need satisfied customers that
are as thrilled with their purchase as I was when I bought
it.
If you have any questions at all, please
call me on my cell at: 702-353-7500. If your inquiry is
sincere and your offer serious, you’ll find me the most
accommodating business partner you’ve ever dealt with. If
you call or e-mail asking for my reserve or “what is my
bottom line” I will be looking for ways to politely end the
conversation. Until you are ready to actually pull the
trigger, I will happily quote you the absolute highest
nationally advertised suggested retail price I can find – a
number we both know will not buy the car so, don’t waste
your time, or mine. I am after all, a “used car dealer.”
Serious buyers know the maximum they can
offer. I then must simply decide if I can sell for that
number.
If you hit the reserve, the decision is no
longer mine. I must sell at that number.
I don't respond to emails
asking for "bottom line, sale price, reserve, or Buy-it-Now"
figures on top line cars.
THE ONLY WAY YOU GET THOSE
FIGURES IS TO CALL ME!
The book values posted below are relevant to "real" selling
figures.
NADA & KBB wouldn't be
in business if they posted nonsense. But they only account
for averages around the nation. If this car is less than or
better than average, bid or offer accordingly.

Though Porsche won't be feeding us the full 911 enchilada until tomorrow's Geneva-based festivities, we have managed to scare up some official images of the 2014 911 GT3, as well as the all-new 911 GT3 Cup. As Porsche is celebrating 50 years of the 911, we anticipate a good day for great cars. The new GT3 looks every bit the proper successor to the racy 911 nameplate, with a fixed rear wing large enough to serve cocktails on, a curvaceous body kit and 20-inch wheels that offer a dominating on-road stance. It's a good bet that Porsche will have coaxed something like 450 horsepower from the naturally aspirated, 3.8-liter flat-six engine that hangs over the car's rear axle. A seven-speed manual and Porsche's own PDK transmission are the likely gearbox offerings. Should the mental quickness and imposing wingery of the standard GT3 not be enough for you, future racecar driver, Porsche is also bringing a GT3 Cup car to Geneva. The German automaker has given just a few scant details about this Cup car - 460 hp on tap, a production run of just 2,400 units - including three images of the kitted out racer. Certainly more and finer details will emerge, when Porsche shines the spotlights on its new 911s tomorrow.
On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are joined by a special guest, Autoblog contributor Brett Berk. The three discuss cars in film and TV as well as Brett's series on car-themed cocktails. There is of course a recap of what they've all been driving lately, and the episode wraps up with Spend My Money buying advice to help you, our dear listeners. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) While Porsche's designers can jokingly be accused of being some of the laziest in the industry due to the incremental changes to the 911's iconic design, no such charge can be leveled against the engineers and product planning folks. That's because it seems like each week arrives with news of a new variation of the marque's iconic rear-engined sports car. So, for this week, we've brought you images of what we think is the new 911 GTS Cabriolet, undergoing testing in a thawing winter wonderland. Now, what is it that gives this 911 away, compared to standard convertible? Well, the big thing is the new offset, center-mounted exhausts. Borrowing a page from the last Volkswagen R32, these exhaust tips are unlike anything we've seen from Porsche. Only the GT3 wears center pipes, and unlike these spy photos, the twin pipes on the track-minded 911 are stacked neatly alongside each other. The other change spotted by our spies is the set of active-aerodynamic flaps in the front bumper, which can automatically channel air toward the brakes for increased cooling, or close off to reduce drag, as needed. Those exhausts are a pretty big design detail, and so far as we can tell is the only differentiator between the other 911s in this car's posse. Our spies speculate that this could be a 911 Speedster, but point out that both the canvas roof and windshield remain unchanged - the rumored Speedster model would almost certainly feature a different roof assembly along with a steeply raked windshield.
