2002 Porsche Boxster 48862 Mi, Excellent Condition, No Reserve, Nice Options on 2040-cars
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
Excellent condition, 48,862 miles, no disappointments here. Never smoked in. Two owners. All original. See window sticker for options, Includes speedster panels, which use the special hardtop mounting points. Very rare factory sport exhaust, plus 17" wheels, xenon headlights. Standard equipment includes climate control, 5-speed manual, and power top, and work like new. Always well taken care of, looks new, paint is beautiful. Tires have 6-7/32's inch tread left all around with even wear. No chips or cracks in glass. Leather in great shape. Drivers seat shows some wrinkle on the edge bolster, see the picture and zoom in. Car original from Texas, now in Arizona, no rust. I'm a snowbird, so the car had Minnesota plates for a while, but never left AZ. If you live in the Phoenix area, you're welcome to stop by and have a look. Please bid seriously, this listing is somewhat expensive. Only repair I've needed have done was brake pads and oil change. In order to keep the car pristine, I've driven the car less and less, so thought I'd see if anybody would like to be the proud owner. I live 6 miles from the Phoenix airport and can pick you up there, and it's another 6 miles to the motor vehicle department. Driving the car home would be a lot of fun. Thanks |

Audi CEO says brand's EVs are almost as profitable as its other cars
Mon, Oct 4 2021After, oh, a hundred years or so of building vehicles primarily powered by internal combustion engines, automakers around the world have been and still are pumping billions of dollars into the development of electric vehicle technology. Everything from platforms and batteries to motors and the software to control it all requires untold hours of development, and that takes time and money. Fortunately, it's not going to take long for that massive investment to start paying off, at least according to Audi CEO Markus Duesmann, who told Reuters in an interview that "The point where we earn as much money with electric cars as with combustion engine cars is now, or ... next year, 2023. They are very even now, the prices." As a brand, Audi contributed more than a quarter of overall profit for the massive Volkswagen Group, which has such powerhouse brands as Volkswagen and Porsche among others. Under the Audi umbrella are Lamborghini, Bentley and Ducati, and it seems those high-end branches aren't going anywhere, at least for now. "These brands ... are very valuable very profitable brands, where we can even expand the synergy level in the future," Duesmann said in the interview. "There are no plans whatsoever to get rid of them." Despite the overall profitability of the brand, the ongoing global chip crisis is causing headaches. "We had a very strong first half in 2021. We do expect a much weaker second half," said Duesmann, who added, "We really have trouble." In fact, so serious is the trouble that the brand is forced into "a day-to-day troubleshooting process" to limit the chip-shortage damage. The good news for the automaker is that Audi has been able to boost its profit margin from 8% prior to the pandemic in 2019 to 10.7% in the first half of 2021. The bad news is that various chip shortages aren't expected to get a whole lot better over the rest of the year. Related video:
World's largest toy car collection is in Beirut, and it's remarkable
Fri, Jan 31 2014It's common for auto enthusiasts to have a few miniatures of their favorite cars around their home or office. They provide a respite of happiness knowing that if you can't have the real things, at least you can look at them in miniature. However, Billy Karam of Beirut, Lebanon, has taken collecting toy cars to its extreme. His collection of over 30,000 model cars and 400 dioramas is certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest collection of car toys. "You cannot buy the big ones, so you buy a thousand of the small ones instead," says Karam in the video. Karam is a former amateur racing driver with a weakness for all things Porsche, and many of his dioramas depict races that he drove in or attended. Looking at them gives him a chance to relive the experiences again, but unlike a photo or video, they are right there in three dimensions. This is why we love the Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer
Tue, 11 Nov 2014In the world of restomods, Singer Vehicle Designs is inarguably one of our absolute favorites. The company, founded by rocker Rob Dickinson, has made its name as an obsessive constructor of vintage, built-to-order Porsche 911s with modern internals and beautiful accouterments.
Xcar has put together a lengthy interview with Dickinson, covering the source of his fascination with the 911 and his passion for automotive design, before falling into his rock-and-roll days with his band Catherine Wheel. He also covers how he got into the world of modifying Porsches, rather than just restoring them. There's much, much more in the video, though, and we promise, you won't want to miss it.
Take a look.
