Offering this very nice example of a 2000 Porsche Boxster S Roadster Convertible, model 986.  No accidents.  Clean and clear North Carolina title in hand.  This vehicle boasts a rare combination of Guards Red Exterior and Savannah Beige Leather interior.  I will do my best to describe this car in the most accurate manner possible, but feel free to message me or call with any questions after viewing the photos.  My cell phone # is 304.741.0948.

Paint: The paint is in very good condition and is original.  There are a couple minor imperfections on the front bumper and the driver side door edge.  There are also some very minor imperfections on the trunk lid (pictured above). This should be easily touched up.

Interior: The interior is in good condition and shows normal wear from a 14 year old car.  There is a very minor tear in the passenger seat that is hardly noticeable.  There are no tears in the carpets or mats.  There are no tears or warping on the dash and the center console is in good shape.

Wheels and Tires:  The 10 spoke alloys look good and show minor wear.  The Porsche center caps show very well.  The Michelin Sport Pilot tires have significant tread left and enhance the vehicle's overall ride quality.

Shocks & Suspension:  Very responsive and smooth.  All components work as they should.

Air Conditioning: Blows very cold and heater works as it should.

Convertible Top:  Functions perfectly and is in great shape.  All motors work properly and snaps easily into place.

Brakes:  Very little wear and function as they should.  Will not need replacing for a long time.  Hand brake works as it should.

Engine:  Pulls very well.  No leaks or issues.  Does not burn oil.  This car runs very strong.  Synthetic oil change performed this week.  K&N air filter compliments performance nicely. New water pump recently installed.

Transmission:  The six speed manual shifts well and should not need a clutch for some time.

Stereo:  The Becker radio / tape player is currently not working.  While it may simply be the fuse behind the head unit, a replacement unit for model CDR-220 is approximately $150 online.  I have purchased new Alpine SPS-410 speakers to replace the paper cone dash speakers and are included with the car.

Power Options & Lights:  Power Seats, Power mirrors. All electronics and lights work as they should.

Inspections:  I will make reasonable accommodation to have the car inspected in Charlotte at buyer's sole expense.  Feel free to contact me by phone to schedule an appointment.

Payment and Deposit: Paypal deposit of $500 due within 24 hours of purchase.  Remainder of funds due within 7 days of sale.

Shipping:  Buyer responsible for all shipping charges.  Car will not ship until all funds have cleared into my account.  I will assist in any way possible.

Overall, this is a very nice driver with exceptionally low mileage.  The private party Kelly Blue Book value in good condition is over $17000,  It is priced well below this value and priced to sell fast.  Thank you for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you.

1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS takes center stage with Petrolicious

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Today, one of the most exciting track toys available is the Porsche 911 GT3. Its forbearer, though, was an altogether different beast that was every bit as exciting. Yes, we're talking about the old 911 Carrera RS that blessed the early 1970s. With a mere 1,580 cars built, meant specifically to satisfy the FIA's homologation requirements, the RS is one rare pre-Malaise era cars.
Complete with a 2.7-liter flat-six engine, this RS of Mark Haddawy is one of the earlier examples of the breed (later cars received a larger, 3.0-liter engine). Still, it can scamper to 60 miles per hour in a very respectable 5.6 seconds and will happily hit 150 mph in a straight line. Sporting Porsche's iconic duckbill rear spoiler, the equally iconic Fuchs wheels, as well as slew of options, as Haddawy points out, each of the nearly 1,600 RS models is its own unique iteration on the Porsche performance formula.
Take a look below for the latest video from the crew at Petrolicious.

Porsche offers design walkthrough of Panamera Sport Turismo

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo was arguably the best concept car of 2012, and Porsche has been building upon that momentum by teasing us with videos of its first-ever station wagon design. After showing us some driving shots of the Sport Turismo, Porsche released a more in-depth and behind-the-scenes look at what it took to take the Panamera shooting brake from a full-scale clay model to the final product we saw on stage at the Paris Motor Show. In the video, Michael Mauer, Porsche style director, and Mitja Borkert, general manager advanced design style, both give a little insight about what went into creating the Sport Turismo Concept.
More than just a station wagon version of the Panamera, the Sport Turismo has a totally distinctive look nose to tail. Some of the key elements the designers touch on in the video include the Porsche-signature raised front fenders, the wide rear shoulders, the front wing inspired by the 918 Spyder, and even some of the car's unique touches, including the headlights and the three-dimensional "Porsche" lettering across the liftgate made from glass. One of the more exciting aspects of the concept - which is sadly just glossed over in the video - is the rear liftgate spoiler that features "variable aerodynamics" that sounds like it acts similar to the retractable spoiler on the current Panamera.
We still don't know if the Panamera Sport Turismo will make it into production, but if you want to see what went into creating this exciting concept car and see the different build phases designers went through to create the Paris show car, check out the video by scrolling below.

Porsche Cayman GTS in track battle with 996 GT3

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Here's your tough question of the day: Would you rather drive a new Porsche Cayman GTS or a slightly older, 996-era Porsche 911 GT3? Certainly, both cars have their plusses. The Cayman is the more modern proposition, sure, but the GT3 is, well, a GT3. So yes, it's a tough decision.
If you're one of the lucky souls that have to make that choice, then this video from Evo should prove pretty helpful. It's a track battle, starring Jethro Bovingdon with a new GTS and an old GT3.
Calling the GTS "fantastically agile" and "fast, but it's also hilariously good fun," Bovingdon bangs home a solid lap time of 1:05.2 before switching to the GT3. It's remarkable to see just how dated the 996-generation 911 looks after viewing the newer Porsche, and from where we sit, it's further proof that the old car's headlights are something that's best forgotten. Styling qualms aside, though, can the GT3 keep up with its racy younger cousin?
