Porsche 944 Turbo Coupe 2-door 2.5l 1986 on 2040-cars
Keene, New Hampshire, United States
I am selling this Porsche 944 Turbo as I have two and I don't drive this enough. I bought this car in April of 2008 with 89730 miles on it and it now has 94234, I drove it 4500 miles so far, so around 750 miles a year, only in the summers. I purchased the car from Auto Sport Engineering 370 Hudson Rd. Stow, MA 01775 I would say one of the ,if not best Porsche shops on either coast. The belts were done at Auto Sport at 80000 miles so this doesn't have to be done for another 25000 miles according to Clarks-garage.com. This Turbo has been slightly modified it has the Lindsey club wastegate ,Lindsey Boost enhancher,3.0 fuel regulator, 944T wastegate shim, Lindsey LR/951 Max chip set, all can be removed if you want to go back to stock. I replaced the hood foam, added two Alpine amps, an Alpine head unit, a sub in a thin box. the car came with ADS separates in the doors and the stereo sounds great. I replaced the A/C compressor with a new unit, Griffiths Kuehl , works better than stock, switched Freon too. No leaks of any kind, all functions work. This 944 goes , with the limited slip and the simple mods this car goes faster than cars costing three times as much. If you didn't know the 1986 944 Turbo model year was the only year in which a Porsche model other than the 911 was faster, yes the 944 Turbo was faster than a 911 only this year. I have the tools and air pump, manuals. I also have receipts for the work done on the car since I have owned it As with all cars of this age sold as is.

2012 TechArt Porsche 911 is visually dazzling, both inside and out
Wed, 07 Mar 2012One way to ensure that your brand-new Porsche 911 (a.k.a. 991) won't look like the one in your neighbor's driveway is to give TechArt a call. The famed German tuner has rolled out its version of the latest Carrera and Carrera S at the Geneva Motor Show and trust us, it won't be mistaken for anything from the factory in Stuttgart.
Up front, TechArt has fitted its own unique two-part spoiler with integrated splitter while more aggressive side skirts adorn the rocker panels. The rear has a new lower diffuser, wrapped around the TechArt exhaust, and a large fixed rear wing (complete with an integrated third brake light). Look more closely to notice the subtle trim panels on the exterior mirrors and front headlights. The wheels are lightweight forged 20- and 21-inch alloys with matching paint on their rims.
Inside the heavily modified cabin are even more drastic enhancements (let's say TechArt has gone over the top). Don't let the aluminum pedals be a distraction as you inspect the black Alcantara and high-grade leather covering nearly every square inch. Flirting with gaudy, the dark upholstery is contrasted by vehicle-color-coordinated stitching and painted trim splashed throughout. However, the icing on the cake is an insanely thick TechArt three-spoke sports steering wheel.
Race Recap: 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans defines 'endurance'
Mon, 16 Jun 2014Commenting on the rush of events that rocked beginning and end of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Paul Truswell of Radio Le Mans said "the race is about the ability to endure, not just the ability of drivers to do what they do for a long time." The entire race machine, all the way down to the pit boards and radios, has to survive the stress and abuse of the entire day. This was the race to prove those words.
There were two Toyotas, two Porsches and three Audis, five of the seven led the race at some point, six of the seven ran in the top three. Toyota will be hugely disappointed that it didn't win when its car and drivers were so, so strong, but they gave Audi the kind of scare we haven't seen since the best of Peugeot's days, and Toyota did a better job of it even in the loss. Porsche blew away everyone's expectations, falling 3.5 hours short of a fairy tale ending that would have made Disney cry.
But Le Mans doesn't really do fairy tales. Well, not that fairy tale. Audi's Twitter handle during the event was #welcomechallenges. As usual, Le Mans answered for the entire field.
Porsche's Tesla-fighter could have 600 hp and 300-mile range
Sun, Feb 22 2015Will this be the Ragin' Pajun? Some details on the all-electric "Tesla fighter" from Porsche have been revealed by UK's Car magazine, and, to put it bluntly, the model that has preliminarily been dubbed the 717 will be an absolute beast when it hits the road as early as 2019. With some technological help from parent company Volkswagen, Porsche is planning a model that will have about a 300-mile single-charge range, and a version that may deliver as much as 600 horsepower. The four-door will also be four-wheel-drive, with one electric motor per axle, and four-wheel steering, all for the sake of consistency, Car says. Additionally, unlike the Tesla Model S, with its battery packs running flat along the floor of the vehicle, the 717's battery layout will be far more complex, complete with bulkhead walls and 108 separate battery pouches. Last month, German publication Auto Motor und Sport reported that the Panamera's junior variant, aka the Pajun, was indeed going to be an all-electric affair. Still, beyond a few digital renderings and an estimated single-charge range of 250 miles, few details were revealed.
