Porsche 944 Turbo 951 Rebuilt Engine And Much More!! Black On Black Must See!!!! on 2040-cars
Dayton, Ohio, United States
I am selling my Black on Black 1986 944 Turbo 951 in an
effort to raise the funds needed to purchase a 911 from a friend. I have only
owned the car for 8 months and spent the first 6 months rebuilding the car. My
original intent was to build a car that I would keep for years but due to
recently being offered a chance to buy my dream car I am selling this car at a
loss. This car is adult owned and not abused. Some of the work I completed on
this car during this time (and with less than 3000 miles) include but are not
limited too: -Complete engine rebuild-new bearings, rings, all seals,
belts, timing gears, water pump and more -Venturi Delete -New Master Cylinder -All New radiator hoses -All New Lindsey racing intercooler hoses -All New Vacuum lines -New Battery -New Starter -New Clutch/Pressure plate/TO bearing (All Sachs Brand) -New Clutch Master -New Clutch Slave -Low Mileage Transmission (Car is a LSD car but the Trans is
a Turbo Transmission with cooling loop but non LSD) -Low Mileage Torque Tube -A/C reworked and many new and Low Mileage parts installed -New Kenwood Stereo CD w/ Removable Face and Blue Tooth with
Mic -All New Exterior Lights -New Windshield Wipers -And Much Much More Performance Mods: -Lindsey Racing Max 951 Chip Set -Lindsey Racing Boost Enhancer -Lindsey Racing Waste Gate Shims (2) -Lindsey Racing High Flow Fuel Pump, 3 bar fuel regulator
and Low mileage injectors -K&N Air Filter -Exhaust has a cat delete pipe welded in Aside from the odometer and 1 solenoid on the heater box
(haven’t had time to fix and can manually change from ac to heat) everything
works on this car, no excuses or disappointments. The car is virtually rust free including the underbody that
is almost spotless (One of the reasons I bought this car) and a perfect battery
box. The paint is an older repaint and should be good for a couple of years.
The paint isn’t perfect but looks great from a few feet away, I planned to
paint the car in the next couple of years to finish the restoration but it gets
complements the way it is every place I go. The front end has some bug bites in
the paint that could be touched up and it has two relatively small dents on the
passenger side quarter panel (one above the wheel well and one just under and
to the side of the tail light. The interior shows really well and the leather is soft for a
car of this age. Dash has the usual cracks but I have installed a Lindsey Racing dash pad carpeted cover. Like I have stated before this is a car that is over 25
years old and isn’t perfect. Mechanically it has been completely rebuild and
runs great! This is a really fast car that handles as a Porsche 951 should,
especially with the adjustable Koni’s. Car has a clean title with Mileage being the only issue.
When I bought the car the odometer gears had stuck together and all the numbers
would spin when you drove the car. The story I was told is the mileage was
believed to be right around 100,000 miles and everything about the cars
condition seemed to support this. I have since changed out the gauge cluster
but the new one also has a non working odometer (pretty standard for these cars
and can be fixed with a new gear that I think costs around $40.00. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions. You can
call or text me at 937-232-6507 Don. Please leave a message if you call, I am
self employed and my phone rings non-stop during the day. |

German judge 'inclined to dismiss' hedge fund lawsuit against Porsche
Fri, Feb 27 2015Last year, around two dozen investors, including hedge funds, leveled a 1.4 billion euro ($1.95 billion at the time) lawsuit against Porsche in connection with the automaker's attempted takeover of Volkswagen in 2008. The Stuttgart Regional Court dismissed the case. Around 19 of those plaintiffs are heading back to court to appeal the ruling and still hope to get 1.2 billion euros ($1.4 billion). However, according to one German judge, the chances for success aren't any better this time around. "On balance it's our view that we consider the lawsuit, or the appeal, to be unpromising for several reasons," Gerhard Ruf, a judge in Stuttgart, said to Reuters. "We are inclined to dismiss the case." The court's ruling on the appeal will be announced on March 26. The investors' case hinges on Porsche's strategy surrounding the botched takeover. The sports car maker said that it wasn't trying to control VW, when in fact it was. These hedge funds had bet against Volkswagen stock, but the share price surged when Porsche's plan inevitably came to light. Investors have sued the sports car company multiple times since then in attempts to recoup billions of dollars. However, none of the lawsuits have been successful, whether attempted in the US or Germany. Former Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking and and CFO Holger Haerter might still stand trial for the alleged stock manipulation, though. Porsche 911 GT2 RS vs. Mercedes SLS AMG Black in battle of who can shred more rubber
Fri, 04 Apr 2014We might be looking at the end of an era in European performance models. Mercedes-Benz is doing away with the SLS in favor of a rumored smaller and cheaper SLC, and Porsche has said that a new 911 GT2 isn't necessarily a sure thing, which means another 911 GT2 RS is even farther away. In its latest video, Evo's Jethro Bovingdon pits the ultimate versions of these German sports coupes against each other and finds two of the fastest cars the magazine has ever lapped around its track.
In one corner, there is the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series that sits as the pinnacle of the company's halo model. It relies on the classic setup of a V8 mounted in front powering the rear wheels. On the other side, there is the 911 GT2 RS with a turbocharged flat-six mounted at the back, spinning the rear wheels. It was conceived to be Porsche's ultimate expression of a turbocharged 911, and while it's a few years old, Bovingdon shows that it's up to the task of racing a more modern rival.
Both of these rear-wheel-drive monsters are more than capable of some fantastically smoky power-slides, but they also show how great the last generation of sports cars was. Scroll down to check out the video.
40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax
Thu, 24 Jul 2014
The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
